Hello... I'm having surgery today woohooo. Here at hospital waiting for nurse to come in. I'm nervous but I know it'll be ok. I lost my mom on the 20th so Christmas wasn't good and today is her bday! So I know I habe an extra angel on my shoulder for it.

I am on my pre-op diet and I have done some cheating. However, mines seem mild in comparison. Over the past 8 days, I have eaten some grapes (about 10), a serving of snack Factory Pretzel Crisps (I checked the label and gave myself exactly 1 serving) I put half a banana in my Protein smoothie. I wasn't sure if this is actually cheating or not because bananas weren't on my list of excluded or included fruits I can use for shakes and smoothies. I ate Taco Bell plain Refried Beans when I was out holiday shopping. Ate about 3 sporks of that. My big fail was Sunday. I made a salad for my husband's dinner. Just a plain old iceberg lettuce salad mix with tomatoes, cucumbers, a small amount of bacon bits, cheese, 1/4 a piece of baked crispy chicken, and (yes I counted) croutons with light vinaigrette dressing. Before I know I was huddled in the corner like Smeagal devouring about a cup of the salad! LOL my husband caught me and tried to take it away, but I would not let go of MY PRECIOUS! LOL

I hear you!! I’m on day 6th. Got home the same day you had your surgery, I still have crazy gurgling and gas. I’ve been moving around a lot and that helps. I came of the meds on the 13th as all i wanted to do was sleep. I walked a mile today and gas levels are certainly better with walking. Good luck and speedy recovery.

Today is my first day back home following my surgery on December 12th. So far so good but I have a lot of stomach gurgling and still plenty of gas. Also I think my meds are breaking my face 😒

I had my sleeve done on the 12th, and the procedure went by very quickly from what I was told. I stayed in the hospital for one night. Thank God for that because I was so, so sick - nauseous, vomiting blood, in major pain. The meds were not working for me (except for the pain meds). Zofran made me even sicker. It was not fun. I cried the entire night. I’m still trying to figure out how to drink/eat. It hurts to even take medicine and Vitamins right now.

I’m pushing through the exercise. If I feel lightheaded I just sit down for a bit and then get back to it.

I’m desperately hoping for a quick turnaround with this nausea so that I can get my fluids in. I’m trying to be kind and patient with myself but this recovery process is harder than expected.

Wishing everyone the best on this journey.

I think we all feel guilt and shame at times. For me it is most of the time. I feel great when I lose weight and then I gain it all back and feel like such a failure. I feel for you and hope you get all you want out of this surgery. You deserve to have a happy healthy life doing things you want to do. I'm not sure why we can't be kind to ourselves. You know deep inside this is not your fault but you can take control and concur the weight beast. I wish you all the luck in the world.

    Good Morning All,
I wanted to stop by and give an update. I am halfway through my 2 week liquid diet. My surgery is scheduled for Next Thursday the 8th. Just some things i noticed during the last week that has helped and just wanted to share.
I would totally recommend keeping a journal of how each day goes and keeping track of what you are consuming daily. ( Doing this- also notate BM's as i have heard constipation will set in-so you can track if you need medicine before it gets too far)
I would also recommend using the broth as your lunch and dinner along with a shake a little while later. This has helped me tremendously with sanity and keeping me from feeling off whack with an eating schedule.
I did get Protein2o and have substituted one shake a day with the Water. This I find keeps me from having to drink too many shakes and makes my days more of a normal schedule. One of the other things i have done is I have been using the Caramel Premier Protein shake ( while all the others are slimfast per Dr Recommendations before surgery then Premier after) as a creamer for my coffee. I do drink Decaf ( I started that about a month before pre op diet) and i drink a few a day but with the Protein Shake and liquid sugar free caramel flavor ( something i have done for years).

These things have helped my days be as normal as possible without being hungry. 7 more days to go till Surgery! I am super excited.

This makes me feel so much better. I’m starting preop liquid diet in 9 days and I’m dying of anxiety. Never had a major surgery before in my life! Only wisdom teeth under general anesthesia in 2015.

I'm one week post-op. Taco bell has their rolled tacos which are one of my favorite things in the whole world. Hubby brings it home for the whole family while I'm here sip sip sipping on liquids that I'm officially sick of. I walk by the bag and look in the bottom and there are little cups of nacho cheese that no one's eaten. I got a spoon and took three tiny bites of the nacho cheese... Hey it's a liquid, right?

I thought the same thing! But honestly I'd be starving without the restriction of my sleeve. I'm lucky in that I have no physical hunger. Just head hunger and in the mornings I feel empty. Or hollow. Best I can describe it. I think we all wonder "what if...?"

True.. I have started to drink a 16 ounce Water on the way to work.. before my coffee and Breakfast. It has really helped get my liquids in earlier and feel full. Sometimes that water is a Protein water.. and then I have Protein Shake in my coffee.. all before I attempt to eat that egg, or 2oz of yogurt or cottage cheese LOL I cannot wait till next week I can add in pancakes.. low carb ones, with Protein Powder added.. silver dollar size is what I will be able to handle I am sure..
