    Anyone from Wisconsin?

@@iMav, I'm guessing about 3-4 months for the process. I had Dr. Greenberg as well and had my surgery at UW Hospital since The American Center wasn't open yet. You have to take a series of classes that help prepare you in addition to possibly having additional "readiness" visits with RD, etc.

    Dating

Great question,@lifeofblair. I'm dabbling in dating myself and find it a challenging world to navigate. Everything easy for dates involves food or drink!
  3. Had my 6 month appointment and I've lost a little over 61% of my excess body weight. Still plenty of work to do, but after having a stall for almost a month is helping put things in perspective!

    Sliming and Throwing up

I'm trying to figure out what made me so sick. I made protein balls tonight and tried one. Let's just say I will remember NYE 2015! Painful stuck feeling and lots of spitting or throwing up. Here are the ingredients: honey, oats, chia seeds, peanut butter, protein powder plus a little water mixed in. Any thoughts?

    15g Protien water

I tried these, but didn't care for the taste. Also they aren't whey protein isolate in case you or your team are picky!
  6. While at the gym, a random person came up to me and said, "wow you look great... how much weight have you lost?" I left the gym that night feeling satisfied that I have made the right decision. It's hard to see the changes in the mirror, but I will trust I'm making progress.

Wow! That is great! It is so nice when someone notices (especially someone we don't know that well!). Keep up the great work!

    Can we ever have cake?

I think it's up to you. It will be trial and error. Everyone is different. I didn't want to test the waters for quite some time. To me, one bite of cake isn't worth it!

    Gummy vitamins

@@sarahbethemails - I can't remember exactly why, but my NUT deters her clients from any gummy vitamins. I'm not sure if the absorption is different or if it is just a different feeling to tolerate. Personally, I've been doing the chewable (non-gummy) Flintstones.
  10. @@goblue9280, I'm working with a trainer and worked out with him prior to surgery. Since I already had a relationship with him, I was honest about my surgery. I didn't want to take things too fast and get hurt. I did walking and elliptical prior to 6 weeks, and at 6 weeks (and my PA's approval) I started training again. We did lighter weights and more reps. He was shocked when I told him how much I was eating and wanted me to check in with my NUT. When I asked her about it water and protein were the biggest answers I got. That's what I'm still doing. Water, water, water and at least 2 protein shakes a day (now at 3 mos out).

Flying Tips - Almost 4 Mos Post Op

So it sounds like the important pieces are to carry on prescriptions in the original Rx bottle? I'm hoping to check some Nectar "To Go" packets and a couple quest bars. For vitamins, do you think I can put it in my checked baggage without the original containers? I'm going to be gone for 8 days.
  12. Hello! I'm 3 mos out, and will be flying for Thanksgiving (I'll be 4 Mos). I haven't flown in a while. Does anyone have tips, watch outs, etc? I'm mostly concerned about transporting my prescription meds, Vitamins and Protein powder! Thanks in advance!

    Powerade zero?

Yes, when I struggle with water intake changing to something flavored like this helps!

    IUDs

I had Skyla "installation" on Monday. I took some tylenol prior, and didn't use the numbing the doctor offered. She said I'd have to wait another 10 minutes in the stirrups with the speculum in to make sure the numbing cream stayed where it should. I just wanted it over! The 2 worst parts pain wise was the uterine sound (measurement of the uterus) and when the "t" arms opened up. The pinch of the tenaculum to open my cervix wasn't pleasant either. I survived without too much issue, but the next 2 hours after weren't great. I had planned on going to the gym and working out, but I felt uncomfortable just driving home, so I went home and took the night off. It felt like I had fish swimming in my uterus....haha.
