    Nice!

    Congratulations
  2. Honestly, the worst pain I felt was right after I woke up. One minute, I'm getting put under the anesthesia, next minute I'm awake and gasping. I felt so terrible. I was in recovery with a whole bunch of other recovery patients. My stomach was killing me. I've never felt anything that bad and I have 5 tattoos and 5 piercings???? My nurse kept getting annoyed that I was asking her for medicine but you're not allowed any medicine until you're transferred to your room. Or at least that's how it was for me. Pain levels for everyone are different. But the moment I woke up out from the surgery, I was in hell. I'm 19 btw and it was my first major surgery.
  3. Anyone who has been out 6 months already, what has your progress been like so far?

    Help! Just had surgery...

The first few days are the worst! I couldn't even walk straight at times because I was in so much pain. I think after a week and some change you'll feel better! I literally went clubbing 10 days after surgery ????
  5. I'm now 5 weeks out of surgery and have been on solids since week 2. I haven't been able to see my NUT yet, but I was wondering if you all would think it's safe to eat a sandwich during this time? My main issue is the bread. I want a sandwich but I have been refusing to eat bread because there really isn't a point to. in my opinion, it's just a "filler food" So I'm on both odds of the spectrum. I want one but then the bread is my main issue. But if I take the bread out, there's no point of it being a sandwich? What do you guys think?
  6. My aunt had the surgery and would drink soda frequently. My surgeon's office didn't say whether or not we can have soda, but there is a nutritional board that shows all recommended foods and portions. Coke is on the list but only a small amount. Honestly, I believe in everything in moderation and to not make things a habit. You know yourself better than anyone so if you know the food / drink will spiral you back into your old ways, don't have it.
  7. Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I've mostly been doing roll ups. I'll take the ham and salami, roll it up, and eat it like that. I haven't had cheese. I saw someone on here say it wasn't that good for us this early out? Not sure if that's true or not so I'm just staying away for now. On another note, I remember when eating a sandwich I could put like 3 slices of ham or whatever deli meat and cheese inside the bread, but now my stomach can only fit 1 slice of ham and 1 slice of salami. It's so crazy to notice the differences Anyway, thank you all for replying. You guys have been so much help. I'm gonna stick to my Protein and forget bread ever existed!????????
  8. If it is clear yellow, maybe check up with your surgeon. I was bleeding from my incision and went to see him the next day. Thankfully, he said it was just old blood from the surgery and I didn't need to worry. He then squeezed my stomach and the area until all the left over blood came out. But just in case, always check up. Even if it turns out to be nothing like in my case.

    Solids

By 2 and a half weeks, my doctor let me start eating solids.
  10. I had the same pain! Walking straight was the worse pain I've ever felt in my life and I have multiple tattoos and piercings! A week or 2 out, I was walking just fine. I was so used to the recliner bed at the hospital though. My bed is pretty straight and it was terrible for me to sleep on, so I just loaded it with pillows and tried to recreate the recliner bed I had in recovery???? Things will get better though. I definitely was regretting the surgery at first just like you! I'm a month out now and feeling pretty good.

    Day 2 pretty miserable

2 days out I was still in the hospital and happily drugged???? By the 4th day though, I was back home and in severe pain. Severe to me since I've never had major surgery before. I've cried countless times. I already have anger issues and they probably got 5x worse after the surgery lol I was unhappy on the liquid phase and felt I had made a big mistake, but one month out.... I can tell you things get better. I still have a little bit of pain in my stomach but I'm certainly not sore anymore and feeling good despite everything. I'm now on solid foods and actually had a fit because it still does get hard to choose the right foods and making sure I'm eating enough calories / but not going over. It is stressful especially the first few days after surgery, you will get through it though. I know some days you will feel like you can't go on, but keep going, and soon the bad will be so far behind us.
  12. I'm a month out and am having trouble with variety. What are you all eating? I need some ideas. I'm eating almost the same things everyday and getting tired of it lol
  13. I'm on solids and not quite tolerating the food all that well either. I feel sick and just want to vomit. My cousin joked around and called me bulimic but it kind of struck me that what if that is the road I'm going down? Hopefully not. I think I should go back to yogurt / Jello as well, but my surgeon said he wants me to eat "regular" foods now. I hope you heal quickly <3
  14. Has anyone gone through this? Just curious.
  15. I'm 3 weeks out and am on solid foods. I'm eating around 500 calories a day. What about you all and how far post op are you?
  16. Mine was 6/15! Nice how close to each other we are I'm going to continue sticking to my plan as well but it does get depressing seeing a lack of progress. Hopefully we get out of this stall soon! Have you been doing any work outs? I have to admit, I can up my exercise a bit more. I haven't been as dedicated as I know I can / should be.
  17. To be honest, I wish I could get in a bit more than 500 calories but I get full very fast. And the gas pains are not pretty lol Unfortunately, I'm in the dreaded 3 week stall. And to make it worse, I keep gaining weight which is annoying. Granted, it's just 2 pounds, and then I lose the 2 pounds, and then it goes back. Its really stressing me out though. Anyone else going through this? Any advice to maintain the weight loss instead of me keep gaining?

    June 2015 sleevers

Congrats on the weight loss! I'm eating chicken, steak, eggs, deli ham, deli salami, and I recently ordered some more Quest bars. They are protein bars.. It's an excellent way to get more protein in. What have you been eating? To be honest, I'm still unsure of exactly how I should be eating. I know I should get a lot of protein in but I don't know where I should be looking.

    June 2015 sleevers

I had my surgery on June 15th. I didn't have to participate in any diets before either. I started at 5'0 and 288 pounds and went all the way down to 255. I don't know what happened but now I'm 261. A little disappointed about that but hopefully I can keep my weight down.

    What's to expect

My psych evaluation was just a basic conversation on why I wanted the surgery and what my goals in life were, what I was presently doing... Things like that.
  22. Trust me, once you're able to eat a cheeseburger, you won't want one anymore! I understand though... First week post op is HARD! I hated it. Cried countless times and also regretted having this surgery. But now, 2 weeks later, I made it and am eating solid foods again. Do I still get cravings? Hell yeah. But we need to eat better for ourselves. Of course I'll eat something that maybe others wouldn't recommend, but who doesn't every once in a while? I, too, want a cheeseburger though but won't risk it right now???? I'm still in the losing phase and want to eat healthily and make the most out of what I can now in the early stages. But it does get better, even though I know that's hard to believe right now.

    All about BOOBS!

I didn't even think about buying a sports bra! I've just been free balling it lately Definitely will invest in one, thank you so much!!!! I think I'll wait maybe another 2 months before I get them re-pierced Thank you so much for the advice.

    All about BOOBS!

Congrats on being 8 weeks out! Yeah, I have a feeling my boobs will keep shrinking. Hey, not only older people sag! I've seen some people in their 20's have saggy skin as well! Perhaps the sagginess will be inevitable lol my thighs have definitely become looser. I feel like that's gonna be a problem area for me. You're the first person around my age I've found on here!!! Where are you from?

    When can I run?

At 2 weeks, my dr told me I could already start doing cardio and lifting weights under 30lb. It's different for every person! Just follow your surgeon's rules and don't strain yourself too hard early on.
