svelija got a reaction from cecejd in Any New Jersey Sleevers on here?
I used Dr Abkin in Florham Park, and had my procedure at the Florham Park surgical center... the entire staff was amazing, and accommodating as much as possible considering my two hour drive.. when it looked like snow would delay my procedure, I reached out to his staff on a Sunday abs not only received response from his new patient coordinator, but Dr Abkin himself called to discuss options...

I actually recently had to ask "what's the smallest size you have?" at Torrid, because I love their clothes but I'm too small for them now.

Vsgann I am well aware of that which is why I reached out for support instead of giving in to temptation... and 6 months from now if I am dumb enough to have one slice of pizza and want another I will do the same thing reach out for support. I mean really...I thought this forum was for support not harsh words like suck it up.

@@HaddocksEyes thanks, I am not trying to jump ahead of schedule, as apparently has been assumed by others on this post it is hard. I didn't expect it to be easy, but I wasn't expecting the intolerance for dairy I suddenly have now. And certain flavors are causing bad reflux despite the medication I am on. I am more limited than I expected I guess is my point. I did finally find a Soup flavor I really like so I'll be adding that in to my daily regiment. I really want to change. My nutritionist put it perfect the other day, this surgery is like breaking up with a bad boyfriend. You can kick him out of the house but if you keep answering his calls your are never going to get anywhere. Thanks again to everyone for the kind words I needed to know that you all got through it and I will too

@@svelija I get what you are saying. It does become tedious and boring eating the same things day after day. So why not look up a few bariatric friendly recipes and give them a try? I found the recipes in the blog World According to Eggface to be really good. Also, there are a number of recipes on Pinterest that work for this phase. You can also try just about any canned Soup and strain it. Another tip is to make your cream of Soups with fat free milk or Protein enhanced milk...makes them taste better and you stay fuller longer. Hang in there! Just a few more days! ETA: if dairy is a problem can still use soy or almond milk in creamed soups.

People really don't understand the struggle if they have never lived it. The uneducated think the surgery is easy, but it is not as easy as they think it is. Just ignore them and know you are doing the right thing for you. My husband is trying to be supportive, but he doesn't get it. So far he had eaten pizza, oreos, hot dogs, and ice cream in front of me...ugh.

I researched spiral slicers, but I haven't bought one yet. But if I were to choose one, it would be this one:

With over 4000 reviews, it's hard to fake the ratings.

I so understand!!! I just moved onto purée yesterday! When I was in need for some major flavor and frustrated I would go to the deli and get their Soup. Loaded baked potato or aged cheddar and broccoli were my favorite. I would throw them in my vitamix with Protein Powder and a little almond milk to keep it thinner and it was so good!!

Can you try some different flavors of liquid Soups? I bought roasted red pepper, Tomato, Thai sweet potato, and mushroom, cream of broccoli just to break up the monotony. I also had pudding, sugar free Popsicle and fudgesicles, yogurt, broth, sugar free hot chocolate, G2 Gatorade.... It will be over quickly... hang in there!

I know how much it sucks. I wasn't allowed to move past that phase until day 18 post-op. The first time I was allowed cottage cheese and scrambled egg, it was like a miracle. Just tough it out. Make sure you are switching things up with your Soup. I bought pretty much every single kind of creamy soup my grocery store sold so I would have some variety.

Grin and bear it. I didn't have that phase exactly, but I did have an all liquid phase. I was over that after a bout a week. Just hang in there!

Just let that one pass - Ann tends to like to employ tough love with other sleevers. She's harmless.
It's totally normal to feel the way you do. It's a huge adjustment and sometime it feels like it's almost impossible to go through the changes you have to go through. This is the time to learn new habits and behaviors. It's actually a positive thing.
