CE24 got a reaction from ANewMe16 in Insure Nutrition
Someone posted a picture that scar cream is costing your insurance company thousands of dollars the price i saw was over $6,000. If you don't need it please call the company and tell them to stop sending it. You're causing your insurance company to spend money it doesn't need to considering you threw it out.

CE24 got a reaction from SparkleCat in Rumbly Stomach...Why?
My surgeon said it's the excess air you're swallowing as you eat and drink. It's your stomachs way of pushing it out that's what the noise is.

You'll get a hundred different answers and all of them are right if it works for them. My surgeon and his procedures have NOT been the norm from the get go compared to others going through this process. My surgery started off with only a one day fast before surgery, followed by outpatient VSG (I was home within a couple of hours) and my NUT supervised diet seemed to progress faster than others with me being able to eat/drink (only no carbonation) at 5 weeks out. I actually had to step away from the boards for a while because it was personally driving me insane to keep comparing myself to others. I've had everything under the sun to eat/drink (in moderation because of my sleeve) while traveling the globe since two months after surgery. I do keep Proteins first, try to get in at least 60 grams daily, and limit any bad carbs/fat. Do I have cake, alcohol, chocolate... if I want it...sure!!! In very small amounts and not every day. I slip. For me this isn't a diet...it's my life. Forever!! I want to be healthier, but I also want to live!! And for me that includes not denying myself things I want. The sleeve helps me control it. Now in saying that I know the honeymoon period is going to end. I know it will be harder. And I know I'll have to work for it. But I take one day at a time and do what works for me as long as it is under my doctors guidelines. I had surgery November 26, 2014 and have lost a total of 96 pounds since the week before surgery.

GENEPRO by musclegen doesn't taste like anything!!!! I bought mine from lucky Vitamin.com with buying two bags it was $60 free shipping. It basically comes to $1 a day if you use 1 serving a day. It's 98 calories, 1 tablespoon serving. I add it to Greek yogurt so I get 42 grams of Protein in one sitting. (Some people think you can only absorb a certain amount of Protein at once both my nutritionist and my surgeon told me that was absolutely ridiculous) at 42 grams I only have to eat 18 more grams of protein a day to reach my goal of 60.
You can also get two samples of the GENEPRO off their website for $3.50. It's a fantastic product you can't beat!!!

My surgeon does not allow fruit for a minimum of 3 months post op. He feels that you're trying to deplete your body of as much sugar as possible so it burns fat instead. It hasn't been that difficult to not have it accept find Greek yogurt flavors I like that aren't fruit.
Also for Protein I've been using musclegens GENEPRO powder. It's 30 grams of Protein in just a tablespoon of powder and 98 calories. I add it to 80 Greek yogurt and I have 42 grams of protein which makes me inly 1& grams away from my minimum requirement of 60 grams. It's totally tasteless. You can even get samples off their website $3.50 for 2! It's a great powder my nutritionist approved it.

This response is quite harsh, I think she was just trying to give warning to others that are like her. Not every doctor and nutritionist works like you and hands you a printed out list. My surgeon I was on pursers food before I was allowed to be discharged. A month out and I was cleared for everything so that is not the case. I've also have zero issues with eating anything I've tried. Personally I think the longer you stay away from something the more reason your body has to reject it. Just because your surgeon has one set of rules does not mean that another surgeons are wrong please keep that in mind. You're coming off quite rude in my opinion and not helpful just yelling at her like you would a child.

Yes and it's annoying to be sipping all day long! Although im farther out than you (7 weeks) I figured out pretty early on I can easily glup Water with no problems. I can take about 4 big gulps of Water before I feel full and about 6 of tea or something else.
To help hit your high Protein requirement how about you look into GENEPRO Protein Powder. It's 30 grams of Protein but it's only a tablespoon for the serving which is great and it honestly doesn't taste like anything!! It will make whatever you mix it into cloudy but other than that it's great! And only 98 calories!!!
    Good luck

I love GENEPRO Protein Powder. It's tasteless, dissolves in anything. 1 small scoop is 30 grams. I just dissolve 2 a day in anything I'm drinking or eating. Soup, juice, yogurt.... There is no way I could get my Protein with out it. I despise Protein Drinks & the fake sweeteners give me headache.

I am currently 4 months (16+ weeks) pregnant and had my sleeve in October 2013. (I was 14 months out and 3-4 months maintaining a 150lb loss when I got pregnant). I've had a very smooth and easy pregnancy. I had a Mirena IUD for years, had it removed 13 months post-op and got pregnant right away.
I just had emergency gallbladder removal surgery as i had 4 gallbladder attacks (stones and blockages) in 3 weeks. I've always had stones since high school but a 150 lb weight loss and pregnancy exacerbated the condition. Baby and momma are both doing great.
In reference to weight gain. I have actually lost about 7-8 lbs since I learned i was pregnant (i had gained 15 lbs from my absolute lightest). My doctor isn't concerned AT ALL. With constant nausea it is challenging for any pregnant woman to eat. I get constant bloodwork to ensure that me and my baby are getting the nutrients we need, which we are.
No pregnant woman should be "eating for two". This is what puts women in the category of gaining too much weight during pregnancy. The priority is getting all the nutrients necessary, not eating bigger quantities. If anything i think my sleeve is letting me have a healthier pregnancy by not allowing me to gain too much weight, specifically fat. I'm sticking to my goal of 15-20 lbs weight gain by delivery. Meaning my weight gain will be primarily if not all baby and the extra blood, fluids, placenta etc. which should weigh around 15lbs.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I am a first time mom and am 28 years old.

samples of everything! It's frustrating wanting to try something and having to buy a $30 tub of it. And even if I have the ability of returning it I don't want that hassle and it's a waste of product. I want to sample things so then I can figure out what I like and buy it that way.

Not sure what the generic would be for that BC but generic is all I've ever been on! It is free certain generics because of the law Obama put into place. I've been on Necon for 2 years I can't remember what I was on before that but it was also a generic.

That's not necessarily true, and you could be putting your body into starvation mode.
You should be talking with your nutritionist and or your surgeon about what you can do to drop your last bit of weight. Good luck!

I stopped it the day before surgery and haven't taken it since and I took it for the exact same reasons insulin resistance due to PCOS. I see my endocrinologist on May 2nd and she will do blood work and evaluate if I still need it. If not no more metformin EVER for me. It's so exciting to not have to take it anymore. Im a month out from surgery

Okay thanks, im on the "smaller end" of the losing game im at 202 right now. Im just upset this happened as i had no issues really up until it. I also am regretting my surgeon choice I feel like this is just very much a business to him. I would have assumed he would have at least wanted to see me and he basically told me unless it gets a lot worse not to bother and that irritates me.
    Thanks for the advice @elode.

I had Protein Shakes and puréed food in the hospital only way I was allowed to be discharged was if I kept it down. Protein shakes are still liquids as long as you're not putting fruit in it. You can call your surgeon but I don't see why not. I think it's torture what some surgeons make their patients do, doesn't make any sense at all.

Sorry if this isn't the best place to post that topic but I was wondering if anyone that gets their Protein shakes from Insure Nutrition have you used their metabolic supplement and do you feel it's helped your weight loss? I was approved for my insurance to cover the shakes, scar cream, and metabolic supplement and just curious to know how it's worked.
    Thanks!!

Just got the call that they're going to supply me! My surgeons office just needs to fax back a signed prescription. I'm excited! She said they're sending 4 cases of the Premier Protein enough for 2 shakes per day. Idk if that means monthly or if it's a one time deal but I'm grateful either way! Everyone really should give this a go you never know what your insurance company will cover. !

One day I'll take the time to type up my whole story (its a long one, going back to the age of 3!) but for now here are my photos!
Before: July 2013 (surgery in November 2013) at approximately 325 pounds. After: December 2014 at about 157 pounds. I'd still like to lose another 20, but at this point I'm not going to push for it. Last time I was this weight was maybe 6th grade.
