    PCOS Question!

How did your PCOS "clear up" in 2 days? Im confused? My endocrinologist told me I could eliminate my PCOS when I reached a healthy body weight. And I stopped taking my metformin once I had surgery but I'm confused by what you mean. Can you please clarify? Thanks!

    Hungry

Are you taking any heartburn medication? Im taking Pepcid as per my surgeon. If I forget to take it I definitely "fell hungry" but it's really just the stomach acid burning. I was told your stomach makes the same amount of acid as your regular sized stomach so you need a medication like Pepcid go control it.
  5. Samples of everything! It's frustrating wanting to try something and having to buy a $30 tub of it. And even if I have the ability of returning it I don't want that hassle and it's a waste of product. I want to sample things so then I can figure out what I like and buy it that way.

    I want to eat

Im on topamax for migraines it's interesting you're using an anticonvulsant for food addiction what is your dosage if you don't mind me asking? Thank you!
  7. Perhaps trying different water temperatures? I also found I was having a hard time swallowing but taking a deep breathe while I was swallowing help to relieve any discomfort. As others have said perhaps put a call in to your surgeon and as to speak with them or their PA an explain your situation. Monitor how many times you urinate and the color I guarantee they will ask because that will dictate to them if you are dehydrated or not. Good luck and keep us updated!

    Bruising Post Surgery

The bruises no where near incisions are where they most likely gave you heparin which is the blood thinner. My surgeon explained that they must have immediately hit a blood vessel when they injected it and because it's whole purpose is to thin the blood it immediately causes a bruise. It will go away with time and should cause you any pain.

    POST OP DRAIN

Agreed, speak with the surgeon all are different. I didn't have a drain or a catheter and I only had one incision in my belly button.

    Ugh!

I also am having these problems and im a week out. It doesn't really happen so much with liquids as just foods and yes im eating puréed foods in very small bites. I find that if I take a deep breath as its happening it seems to stop it. Perhaps you could try that? Good luck and Id definitely mention it to your surgeon at your post op.
  12. Sorry should have added I didn't buy them at Costco got them at BJs idk if their return policy is the same but I will look into it. Thanks for all the suggestions! I bought sugar free torani syrup today hopefully I can make it more tolerable to drink.
  13. I don't have the receipt anymore I bought them like a month ago in preparation. But thanks for the suggestion!

    Very gurgly

I was given protein shakes in the hospital. What's the difference between having protein shakes which are liquid and clear liquids? I don't understand how any one can function on an all liquid diet for a long period of time, if you look into it it's not healthy at all for your body, you need nutrients.

    Post-Op Diet

Clear liquids is only in only in the hospital for me (1 night) then it's mushy puréed foods for a month then on to regular food. For the puréed food 3 protein shakes should also be consumed during the day. And then with regular food 1-2 protein shakes.
  16. It's a legitimate company. Why don't you ask them to mail or fax them to you and get the signature from your surgeon and send them back?

    Back in the hospital.

Hope this keep progressing forward for you! Keep us updated! Good thoughts are headed your way from me!!

    Empire bcbs?

I have the Empire Plan NYSHIP and was approved in less than 24 hours from when my surgeons office submitted my paperwork. I saw my surgeon for an initial consult on Dec. 18th and my surgery is scheduled for Feb. 24th. Very smooth process and I was approved through Insure Nutrition for premier protein shakes (4 cases per month), scar cream, and a metabolic supplement that is suppose to give you energy and boost your metabolism I'm receiving these all for free from the insurance company.
  21. Are you pre or post surgery? Have you used the scar cream?
  22. Definitely pick the script back up and try another pharmacy you could probably call around and find one. That's rude they made you wait a week!
  23. That's awful! I would check and see if the hospital pharmacy can and will fill it for you. They should have it stocked. If not telly our doctors office maybe they can help you track it down in time. Good luck!!
  24. Someone posted a picture that scar cream is costing your insurance company thousands of dollars the price i saw was over $6,000. If you don't need it please call the company and tell them to stop sending it. You're causing your insurance company to spend money it doesn't need to considering you threw it out.
