I have an opposite problem. I love looking at the new me! I take way longer to get dressed. I love comparing old pics to current me and get super excited thinking about how much thinner I will be next month and the month after that. I am nervous that I will forget my age and buy something to tight, too revealing or too young. My friends have been sworn to save me from myself!

40 lbs in 6 weeks is a LOT of weight. I had surgery a week before you and am down 26 pounds in 8 weeks (another 12 during pre-op week before). Your body is trying to catch up. Take your measurements. It helps to see your progress. Meanwhile, yes if you are not getting in Protein and Water it can not only hinder your weight loss but more importantly can hinder your health.

I never went to see mine, pre or post-op. I followed the diet the surgeon gave me, which was outlined quite well, and have been successful with my eating.
The reason I never went to see my NUT is because my surgeon's office is 4 hours away! I chose him because he was cheaper than my local guy by about $6,000. But from reading here maybe I did not miss out on much from skipping out on NUT visits.

Is English your first language? The phrase "I beg your pardon" or "beg your pardon" or "begging your pardon" means either you did not hear or you did not understand what someone said.
I could not discern if you were angry at people for being against you having weight loss surgery, or if you were angry at people for suggesting you have weight loss surgery, or something else.
I could not figure out if you thought people who needed insulin were defiling God's work, or if you thought they needed insulin because they didn't take care of themselves.
Your post was so confusing that I thought perhaps you were having a cerebral vascular accident.

Awesome job! I hope it "sticks" for you. I have lost significant amounts of weight through good old diet and exercise many times in the past. I lost 90 pounds in one year back in 2010/2011 by working out and tracking every single bite of food I took. Unfortunately for me, I have an issue with regain. I was never able to maintain any weight loss for more than a year. I am cautiously optimistic that my sleeve will help me avoid regain once I reach my goal weight this time around. To lose weight with the sleeve, I am basically just doing all the same things I did without the sleeve. I am exercising regularly and I am careful about what I eat.
What I'm hoping is that once I am at goal, I don't get that "whelp, I'm done" mentality that I've had in the past where I thought once I was at goal, I could just go back to my "normal" life of laziness and eating poorly. With my sleeve, the eating healthy and in smaller portions is no longer optional. I can no longer go back to eating a whole large pizza and a pint of ice cream. It's permanent and it forces to me to continue to make good food choices forever. The exercise is still all on me, but I've found that if I'm eating right, I have the energy and attitude I need to exercise. Maybe if I *could* go back to eating pizza and ice cream, that lethargy would set back in and I'd be less motivated to exercise.
I wish you the best of luck and success. I think that if you CAN do it without WLS, then you absolutely should. WLS is a tool of last resort and not to be taken lightly.

My insurance company required a BMI of 40 and I was under that -- not fat enough for weight loss surgery at 240 and change? Come on! Anyway, I got ankle weights. One thing I could not get clear on is which weight would be submitted to the insurance company -- in a case like this very important to know -- so I had to do it for several weigh-ins which I found quite stressful. Still, it worked. Later when I talked to the surgeon about it he said he would have let me weigh in with my pocketbook or whatever it took, but I'm not sure the nurses would have been on board with that. But just so you know, you're not alone. Good luck to you with your upcoming surgery -- and good for you for doing whatever you need to make it happen!

I would do the advice above, hide weights in your bra, pockets, pants, underwear, drink lots of Water before you weigh in! And try to slouch, you could get an inch or two off your height that way which should save you 5-10 pounds.

SlimJill got a reaction from TealSister in Alcohol! Alcohol! Alcohol!
I also have no desire to drink right now... but I think most people are asking questions because drinking alcohol is huge part of most people's social lives... and we shouldn't judge people for wanting to have a social life and manage drinking in a effective way (i.e. asking for advice)...
I haven't seen any one running around saying "I want to get plastered and drink everyday!" So I don't find it that big of a deal. People are going to determine their own success.
Personally I won't drink until I'm at least 6 months out, and that will probably be 1 drink for 21st birthday... And then I probably won't have another one for a while. And I surely hope people don't judge me for asking the question when I do...

Coins and scooching down to lower my height is what I used to get my surgery approved and get to 40%. I have no other medical issues right now (I am guessing if I continued with my 37% BMI I would develop them in short order). I think the hoops are a little crazy when you are talking a few pounds.

@@betrthnever My husband loves me no matter what, so he says but I'm pretty sure he likes this skinnier me better. I lost weight on my own back in the day and my ex preferred bigger women and told me I " looked sick" and he wasn't as attracted to me.......soooooo I told Felicia bye, which is why he is now referred to as my ex. See how that works! So technically I dropped that 60 lbs plus 170lbs of ass! Not too shabby!
