I do lots of left overs because I cook for the family. My meals are adapted from what I cook for them. Ex: instead of rice, I have quinoa or a veggie(eggplant or asparragus) with the meat of the day. It takes me a few meals to eat an eggplant so if the boys want fast food one day, I can easyly pick up for them and then I can have from the left overs at home. I always save from the day before to take to lunch the next day. It can be done. It takes some tweaking but I get my healthy eating done. 7 months post op and I still measure. I use a baby bowl. It is what I know I feel comfortable eating so I serve there and then put it in a plate. Same thing when I pack for next day. They take out bowls some times are big and I dont use my eyes or should I say dont trust my eyes to serve my to-go lunch for the next day so I serve it on the baby bowl and then dump it in the regular bowl I am taking to work. It helps me keep portions in check.

I am very happy with my results. I had mine done June 2014 with Dr. Peraglie in Florida. It saved my life. Everyone's journey is different. I had a one night stay at the hospital. Feel free to ask. I am not sure what information are you looking for. I can answer to the best of my knowledge and from my experience.

We decided to help our daughter have surgery so I can't tell you how many hours I spent doing research before we picked MGB with Dr David Hargroder in Joplin. Her surgery was Feb 2009. She lost 143 pounds in 15 months and then the tornado hit Joplin. She was a crisis counselor at the time. Last year she moved and took another job and she has started losing weight again Last year I started having a lot of health issues so again I started doing research and again I decided Dr H was the best and I had my surgery Nov 2014 I am down 50 pounds and my health issues are gone and I feel 100% better. I wish I had done it years ago. My sleep apnea, diabeties, high cholestrol, problem with my veins in my legs and bladder control are all better to name a few. I started doing Zumba two days a week and walking all the time. I had to stay in the hospital an extra day when I had surgery and I have had some minimaul problems eating but it's all worth it.

I have the Mirena IUD and it's the best. I am almost 28 and married with no kids. The IUD lasts for 5 years. I am planning on getting it replaced one more time then we'll reevaluate where we are kid wise. It also can stop your periods! I haven't had mind in almost 4 years its the best!

Speaking of saggy skin.... I was laying next to hubby the other day and I just had on bra and panties... Well my bra is getting too big ( again) and the way I was laying my boob had "extra" skin that was just kinda wrinkly and he looked down and said eww... That looks just like a ball sack! I laughed and said joke all you want cuz next summer they will be big and perky again and you have to pay for it !!!!

Funny how when I was 340 lbs I didnt want my husband to see me naked and now at 155 I still dont. I finally showed him my belly this morning with the lights on... I just feel like I look good with my clothes on and then you unwrap me an I have hanging skin. Now I dont think it looks as bad as I have seen some look but am still self concious. I am still thrilled with my results but at my age of 45 I dont hold out much hope of my skin bouncing back. Too bad we cant donate extra skin to burn victims!! You cant.. I have researched it!!

Have you had blood work completed to make sure you are getting all the right nutrients? The lethargic feeling could be the result of nutrient deficiencies as well. This could be a combination of your mourning food to cope and maybe not getting proper nutrition.
I would certainly talk to your physician as to next steps.
Good luck, I hope you can get the right help and start feeling better soon.

Met with my new Dr today, what a difference!!! Met Dr. Sharma, and he is brilliant, as well as very personable. With surgeons, you normally don't get both. I start my final diet tomorrow - gotta shrink that liver, then I will be switched. Yea!?

Once 1 was taken care of, number 2 became my strongest obstacle. I have to put everything down on my faith to get through it. My parents were very supportive. My husband was scared because of lack of knowledge but got on board eventually and my journey started.

I never had the "I'm full" button in me until my surgery. And I know some think it is just getting the surgery as an "easy way out" but it is a lot of work before and after surgery. I feel myself explaining to some that I did it for medical reasons. I do tell everyone that it is a tool and not a miracle. We have to do our part too. Work on it. For sure not the "easy way out".
    Very nice post.

I got my news from work in March. I was given 3 options (RNY, Lapband or MGB). I went right away to research. My appointments were separate. I had several appts with my Main doctor, others with my surgeon, another with the psychologist, labs...etc. That took a few other weeks. By May I had a date in June, My choice because I wanted to wait until the kids were out of school.
I dont think yours is too soon. Your new journey is just around the corner. Very exciting!

Vanessa G got a reaction from Pac-woman in Post Surgery-Weight Stall- WTH?
My doctor told me to not worry about the ups and downs in between now and my goal. I weight myself daily to learn how my body reacts during the month. I ve learned in 7 month that my weight peaks before my menstrual cycle and during ovulation, then it drops more. Like it was mentioned before, focus on eating and doing what you need to be doing. The weight will come off. Good luck. Just keep your eyes on the goal.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but I'm gonna repeat what your Doc's gonna say at your checkup......Don't worry about the stalls and stay focused on your long term goals. Keep doing what you're doing. The numbers will add up in the end.
