Also, the prevalence of soy Protein in many products has been linked to moobs. I don't know how true it is, but I also don't buy soy supplements. I avaoid them because of their low bioavalabilty in regards to muscle recovery post lifting.

I'm 5 months postop as of 11/1/17 & I truly hadn't compared any of my photos until 2day and it almost floored me... the photo on the left was yesterday 11/4/17 & the one on the right was 3/7/17. I'm 60+ pounds down & 1 pound from my goal weight!

This was my last comparisons pictures from about 5 weeks ago. Pic to the right was about 6/7 years ago maybe 10 to 15lbs away from 600lbs. I was at or near my heaviest weight back then. And I'm now here in the 240-250's weight range. That what my sleeve has helped me achieve so far.

I started at 518 lbs 2 years ago and am now at 214 lbs and holding steady. I have some loose skin in my arms and a little bit in my legs. I still have a lot in my stomach area. To be honest, it hasn't been a big deal for me. There isn't anything that the loose skin prevents me from doing. It does give me a bit of a middle-aged paunch in my stomach area if I tuck in my shirt, but compression shorts or shirts pretty well minimize that. Obviously, plastic surgery would be an option to deal with the loose skin, but I doubt that I will do it. It doesn't bother me enough at this point to want to deal with the expense and recovery time.

I asked my doctor and several people who have had the surgery done and this is what they have told me.
    1. Some loose skin is unavoidable. It’s gonna happen and is largely determined by genetics
    2. Firming lotions help. Especially those high in collagen. I use the Jergens firming lotion after I get out the shower. ( granted I’m only 2 weeks post)
    3. Weight training. This is a no brainer

I can speak from the other end. I married my husband on Aug 27, 1973. He weighed 350#'s. I weighed 135#'s. I have always gone for BIG GUYS but their personality has some pull too and always older than my age. My husband was in the Navy and I was just a little bit in AWE, he had been around the world and here I was a 17YO country girl. I feel head over heels in LOVE with him. Do you know what we had in common? That's right food!!! It was our thing. Over the years I dieted and he did go on a few but never took it seriously. I weighed 285#'s not long before I had my RNY. But do you know what he said to me, I have never seen your weight I still see the woman I married 44Years ago!!! I told you he was a gem!! Fast forward a few years. On July 2, 2013, I had WLS, Sept 2013 he had a failed RNY surgery (due to his Band that he had for 13Years) So I lost all of my weight in 6 months and he later after much illness had his Sleeve in June of 2016. To this day there is NOT a mean bone in either one of us!! I would never hurt anyone that is heavy NEVER!!! I feel compassion for them. I would'nt have it in me to shame anyone as I have been shamed!! As for getting with someone that has a weight problem, if I was attracted to him YES I could and would date some guy that was 6.4 and a little on the heavy side. I have never had a problem with my hubby even when his weight got up to 520#'s. I can tell you this much this man was so strong!!!! It is so sad that now his body is feeling all of those years of his abuse!! He has lost over 250#'s. Now we don't have the food FOCUS that plagued us for 40 years. Food isn't our thing now!!! Each other is our focus now.

I didn't change friends when I lost weight. Weight doesn't define who we are, people are complex. As for dating, my husband has never been overweight and is fit. He has loved and supported me when I was fat and still does now that I'm healthy.

I feel empathy for overweight but I also feel sad when people I know pursue fad diets that I know will not yield long term results. Wls stopped the crazy train of desperate attempts and I wish other people would be more open minded about wls.

Hit my goal weight this week!
Husband found this old full length picture of me from a work picnic in 2014, around when I would have been my highest weight. And here's me this weekend on my way to a swing dance formal! 227 lbs vs 138 lbs. Just shy of seven months post-sleeve and nearly 90lbs gone! Even my feet are skinnier!

Sorry if this was already posted, I tried it Saturday on the app and I don't see it so maybe I did something wrong. I'm a low BMI obese, now out of obesity after only 10 weeks post surgery. So the WL has been very slow. But it's been steady with no stalls. The before was like a day before surgery and I'd already lost 13 lbs on pre op. The after Is now, about 10 weeks after, after only losing 18 lbs. I've also finished one round of Jillian Michaels beginner workouts on her app (8 weeks). I finally went down a size - maybe 2! I'm on the right track.

Went to ren faire this weekend....and my garb was TOO BIG. I put it on, had to take it off and lace everything up completely, as tight as it could go. Still too big. Could put my entire hand in there. Oh well.

Left is around 194. Right is around 300.

I go to a fancy party every oct...dug out my picture from last year (size 22) to compare to this year (size 12, and that's in DESIGNER sizes) and...wow! By this point last year I'd already lost about 20 pounds on my pre-op diet, and was feeling really good about how I looked. Everyone was complimenting my weight loss....lmfao
One year next week. I'm going to have to dig out the big dresses to put on and compare again!

The 3rd is a month after surgery at 225, and the 4th photo is from today, and the last one was from Halloween with my little guy. I am just over 2 months post op. I am 5'10 and my bmi right now is 27.

BigTink2LilTink got a reaction from BuffaloBill in Bloated and gassy after 4 weeks postop
You may want to reach out to your surgeon on dietitian for some advice. I know when I was having sever issues with gas and bloating after surgery, and stupidly trying to eat salads on 4 weeks post op, I was suffering from server gas and bloating pains. I wound up taking Gas-X along with some Papaya enzyme supplements to help get my digestive system back on track. In addition to those I also started taking a probiotic gummies too. Those things along with Fiber has pretty much kept me gas and bloating free for the past 5 months.

    Papaya Enzyme Supplements:
    http://www.walmart.com/ip/Spring-Valley-Papaya-Enzyme-Digestive-Health-Dietary-Supplement-180-Ct/10324935

    Probiotic Gummies:http://www.walmart.com/ip/Digestive-Advantage-Probiotic-Gummies-Dietary-Supplement-80-count/28830944

    Fiber:

Now I'm only taking the Papaya (daily) and the Fiber (ever other morning) and I haven't had issues with gas or bloating.

Another Gym night picture session from tonight. I can actually see my waist getting smaller now, which is kinda cool to see. Went from a 58/60 waist to now in a very comfortable 36 waist now. Tonight was just some arms and back work with weights. Tomorrow will indeed be a legs day.

Just thought that, on the last Sunday before my surgery on Thursday, I'd show you where I was up to now (4:20pm on October 8th, 2017).
Will get sleeve op this week. And, probably between January and Easter, I'll have the hernias sorted. LOOKING FORWARD TO BIG CHANGES in these profile pics.
The red/pink shirt was tailored to fit me in late 2006 when I'd reached about 185-186kg. It's looking baggy now that I am 162kg.

And, from 11.5 years ago ... when I was at my all-time high (almost 192kg or 422 lbs). The T-shirt is a XXXXXXL (6XL); I have it somewhere. Might get my wife to take a photo of me in it before surgery too.

My first before and after photos.

It's only 2.5 months out, and being low BMI obese, I knew it would go super slow. My fat is very fluffy, I was size 18 and pushing 20, with thunder thighs to make Barney the dinosaur proud. So even though my pounds were low, I was too big for plane seats etc.

But being low BMI, the loss is so much slower than many, which is frustrating even though I've had no stalls except the two weeks post surgery. So maybe posting this first progress report will encourage other low BMI obese friends.

The first pic is right before surgery. I'd lost 13 lbs already on pre op. The second is today, 2.5 months out and only 19 lbs less. I have done 8 weeks of Jillian Michaels app on beginning level, not doing any high impact.

It's strange to me how little it takes now to drastically change the way I look. These pics are only about 2 1/2 months and 20 pounds apart, but the difference is so major to me! The scale hasn't been moving as much as it did in the beginning, but it certainly still seems to be doing more to my body...
