allyray got a reaction from Nibbler in Should I cancel my surgery? Help!
I can totally relate to this!! My mother was diagnosed in march of this year with bowel cancer, congestive heart failure, and a host of other things( that were related to her obesity in her 30-40's) so when I got my call for surgery for June 8th, I was sooo torn! Should I do it or put it off until who knows when?
Long story short, I went ahead with my surgery, and siblings and hired help took up the slack from me while I was recovering, which was only the 2 weeks and then could do moderate physical activity with no heavy lifting. Now 8weeka out and less weight, it is soooo much easier to care for her as she progresses. I am sooo glad I didn't listen to thst "little voice" thst was teibg me to put it off until later. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery and new grandchildren!!!!!

When I watch his show, I always want to bash Gordon Ramsey in the face and I am a totally non-violent person, but he triggers the worst outlaw cowboy response in me -- I think I would take a sledgehammer to the scales! Nope, I am going with the nice female soft voice "Looking good, big boy!"

Hey. I was sleeved on June 8th here in New Brunswick, Canada. I have had no issues at all with surgery and recovery, and have no issues at all with my Protein intake with the help of the Premier Protein bars and shakes (1 a day) and Water can at times be a struggle, but always close to where I need to be.
Having a hard time with all the comments as I have hidden behind my weight so long. I am only weighing myself once a month so I guess today is going to be my second weigh in. I'll post my current weight and stats soon.
Glad to have found this thread!!!

Looking forward to buying clothes that I actually like and fit well instead of what just fits me.
    Not sweating
Actually wanting to get a family picture done with my boys and husband before they grow up.
    Crossing my legs.
Enjoying sex like we used to before we had our sons!
Lots more but could go on for pages!!

No guilt here! Life is too short for guilt or regrets.
No matter how shitty I feel at any given moment, I realize that I am very blessed. Two great kids, a great marriage,a successful career, and a solution to the weight issue I've fought for decades. I have NOTHING to complain about and certainly nothing to regret or feel guilt about.

I am just a little over 4 weeks out (surgery June 8, 2015) and only weighed myself when I got home from the hospital and had gained so much Fluid from surgery(7 lbs) thst I made the decision to only weigh myself monthly so when I weighed myself at 4 weeks I was pleasantly surprised I had lost 20 lbs! I don't want to get discouraged by stalls, etc, so I'm concentrating on how my clothes fit and how good I feel instead. It's really a freeing feeling to not be so tied to the scale!!!!
    Good luck!!

I am 3 1/2 weeks out and I have chosen not to weigh myself until possibly next week. I don't want to know if I have the "stall" so I'm not going there yet because I don't want to feel discouraged!
    Good luck

Oh my gosh. Just finally was relieved from severe Constipation tonight. Have 3 hemmroids as a result and let me tell you, popping out a pineapple is exactly what it feels like. Oh my gosh, almost passed out on the toilet this afternoon and was drenched in sweat! It was horrible. Delivering my 10 lb son was a piece of cake compared to the "pineapple".
So dr gave me a fleet enema as well as told me to take restoralax, as well as senokot for the time being. Worst thing EVER!!! But I'll sleep tonight!!

Good point about water. I do get a minimum of 64 oz in each day and often times several oz more than that. However that amount of water doesn't seem to make any difference in the actions of the colon. What I do notice is now I have to get up in the night twice to urinate. sleep is impacted.

I was sleeved 8 weeks ago (4/21). I took my last diabetes medication the day before my surgery. I was on Kombiglyze prior to surgery, and switched to metformin after. I've not had to take a single pill since leaving the hospital. My levels have been in the 90s since I was discharged. I still check them everyday to make sure.

    All the best for you!!
