Since surgery I can't stand protein shakes! It feels like I can taste almost every freakin chemical or whatever is in it. It makes me so nauseated! I am almost 7 weeks out. I am tolerating soft foods fairly well. I prefer food to get my protein! What do you eat that you get your protein in- preferably not adding any kind of protein supplement in! thanks every one!

I have tried many! Premier protein, pure protein, isopure, lean shake 25, ensure etc. I have tried so many things. I just can't stand the taste! I've tried room temp, on ice, refridged!

I live in jax too. I'm looking for support groups I could go too as I did not have the surgery here in jax. Any suggestions? thanks

I was under a while too. I now take miralax in 4 oz of water daily and I've had no issues. It took me 5 days to have one.

I'm nervous about the drain!

Did the drain hurt coming out?

I have to have a stent put in my leg with a filter because of a genetic blood clotting disorder I have suffered from. A lapband taken out it has destroyed my insides and the gastric bypass. I am nervous and anxious. My husband is 100 percent supportive of my decision but not pushy. I need support. My story is a lot more complicated. I am scared. My surgery is July 14 but the days and making me more nervous. Yes I think of the positive often by negative scares me too. What somebody calls this routine for most it isn't for me. I need a support system. Are looking for the same?

I haven't had the gastric bypass yet I will in a few weeks!

Im having surgery next week. post op what did you take in? What was the best high protein you could keep down? and Pureeds... and recipes or anything you'd like to share? Ive been having a hard time finding puree recipes with high protein. Oh yeah what yogurt do you recommend? There are so many kinds! Brands, flavors, anything food related post opt- Id love some new options besides what I have seen posted! Thanks everyone!

Hey ya'll! So heres the scoop. I had a lap band placed in January 2010. In Sept 2010 I had my First set of 23 blood clots that would follow up until about a year ago. The doctor who put in the lap band refused to fill it because he was scared I would get another blood clot. Well I started having really really sharp pains in my stomach and abdomen area and come to find out the port broke off and has damaged my abdomen wall. So I went to see a surgeon about having it removed and this surgeon was amazing. He agreed to take it out (he does bariatric surgery for a living) so i felt very confident with his abilities. Then he continued to say, well its a shame you had this placed five years ago and you couldn't use it, how would you feel about while I'm already taking out the lap band and doing the gastric sleeve... I said well I don't know much about the gastric sleeve and he explained it and i said well if you don't mind Id like to go home and think about it, and how does my blood clotting factor fit into all of this. Of course I know the procedures as Ive had to have many surgeries for blood clot nonsense. Ill have to be in the hospital 7-10 days and a heparin drip and stuff. I was just curious if there was anyone else who has a clotting disorder and has had the gastric sleeve done and did they have any complications? I have Factor Five Leiden- Heterozygous. Im just getting anxiety about this. I know its the right decision but it just makes me nervous. Thanks for your input!

My fvl is a bit more complex. My body doesn't respond to lovenox. I always go on a heparin drip then surgery. It means more time in the hospital but it's worth it to me. And why are you seeing a cardiologist as far as protime etc. a hemo should be handling it. Most of the time much safer
