  1. Concerning the constipation complaint, I've had it too. Miralax and Dulcolax never seemed to work very well for me. On a whim, I drank some straight up apple juice and had a bit of a harsh result. Now that I'm some weeks out, eating about 6 slices of apple, daily and with peel, seems to keep me in good shape. I know some cannot tolerate peels well. so consider a small amount to test and/or talk to your doc/nutritionist.
  2. I bought things from the JCPenney website. They always have sales/coupons. Clicking on the big and tall section will let you easily sort items by size.

    Gummi Vitamins

Costco adult gummies here. Ok with my program.
  4. It was explained to me by the nurse practitioner that it is normal for most most patients she sees. She said we often feel good the first week and then may over do it with bending, moving, etc. I went through something similar to what you've described and it lasted a couple of weeks. I also went in to see the Dr just to ease my mind. If you are feeling concerned, consider contacting your program. Good luck and speedy recovery.

@@Sharon1964 Good god, this is a big bowl of "word salad." I'm going to guess it was made by someone trolling. http://examples.yourdictionary.com/examples-of-word-salad.html The term word salad refers to a random words or phrases linked together in an often unintelligible manner. CPAP Machine. I have no love for it.

The adjustable machine is great. I don't know what kind of mask you use, but I have the nasal pillows -they allowed me to tolerate CPAP. Since surgery, I have a wedge shaped incline pillow (keeps your head up and at an angle) - I believe it has helped me with sleep apnea in addition to just general surgery recovery. Good luck to you.
  7. Personally, I would call the Dr. But I do that at the drop of a hat. :-)
  8. I'm not sure if a lot of people filter down to the regional forums. Looking at the dates on threads in this forum, the traffic looks sparse (?). :-)
  9. @@Rovobay @@CowgirlJane and @@AvaFern have both talked about plastics on some different threads. I think they share a lot of good info. I'm not anywhere near considering it - I have a ton to lose yet. I might consider it in the future too.

    Baby food pureed vegatables

@@JessterNC I can vouch for the fruit, pears specifically. I didn't mind them at all, reminded me of applesauce and it was something different than applesauce (which was getting tiresome). I have some baby food sweet potatoes in the pantry that I've yet to try. I cannot imagine that they are too terrible.

Hurts When I Eat? at 5 weeks.

@@TexasGirl86 Well to be honest, your dinner sounds delicious as I sip my Protein shake. I'm told that bread, rice and Pasta are not comfortable for many people as they can be "sticky". Beef is also difficult for some people. I haven't tried any of the 3 starches yet and they are specifically called out as something to avoid on my program. If you're in tremendous pain, you shouldn't hesitate to call your Dr. Some people have luck walking these things off. Me, I tend to worry about everything.
  12. @@The Candidate Very pleased to see and read these posts. Happy to have you up and around! :-)
  13. A mistake for you -- your truth, not mine or many others. The truth is that you have regret and it only hurts you. Your post is lazy and long. You could have summed it all up in 5 bullet points.
  14. I do not have much patience for this story. Of course it's permanent - what wasn't understood about "gastrectomy"? This is a permanent tool, not a panacea. I guarantee that I could lose weight without the sleeve - what I was unable to do was keep it off, ever. I fail to understand how you could not be aware of the facts relative to the surgery. Many programs provide just loads of information concerning what you can expect (risks, benefits, etc). I think the internet existed 3 years ago and nothing stops a person (choosing surgery) from asking any and as many questions as possible of their actual Dr. I'm sorry you've regained weight with the sleeve. You know the correct steps to do something about it, if you choose. And if you do not know, then search this board (using Google - the built in board search isn't good, imo). I predict this will be a trending topic.

    My Sleeve is Sick?#=

Not exactly the same, but I either drank too much Water at one time and/or ate slightly too much on Monday. I've had pain when burping, which turned into sharp stomach pain (periodically) when not burping. It appears to have stopped this afternoon (I hope). The bariatric nurse thinks I could have irritated my stomach/sleeve. She recommended liquids and/or very soft foods. I've stuck to liquids the past two days, perhaps that will help you? When all else fails call your Dr (if for nothing else, peace of mind). Good luck!
  16. @@Babbs - did you end up buying it? It works well, then? I remember the discussion where you mentioned it.
  17. I bought a set of these on Amazon. Reasonable price, though you could get similar ziplock/gladware probably. http://www.amazon.com/EasyLunchboxes-3-Compartment-Bento-Containers-Classic/dp/B004S129AQ/ref=zg_bs_12900081_1 1. They are not leakproof - so don't turn upside down if you have a liquid. 2. They microwave well, but I bring a tiny bowl too because (generally) I don't want my applesauce and chicken salad heated like my broccoli. :-)

    I'm Alive!

I noticed you hadn't posted in a bit. Glad things are settling down! :-)
  19. I think I drank Water too quickly today and may have caused some issue. Now when I take a sip, I'm almost always experiencing a small burp and then a brief sharp pain in my stomach (left side, slightly below my ribs). I am wondering if I've messed something up!? Any thoughts? I searched the site (as well as I could) and didn't find anything similar. I've skipped dinner tonight as I don't want to exacerbate anything. I will call my Dr tomorrow. I would like to have one week where I don't speak with the bariatric nurse! *And I do realize many of my posts make me sound like some type of hypochondriac -- I'd like to think I'm just hyper-aware and (excessively?) vigilant about checking into every weird feeling I get with the sleeve. :-)
  20. My bariatric nurse thinks that I may have irritated my sleeve. She suggested stepping back to softer foods for a couple of days. Today seemed better as I only had pain twice when I burped; however, now the pain occurs at times without burping. I'm not going to (try not...) stress - will wait a couple of days and if it's still happening I will insist on seeing someone.
  21. I never had to undress to weigh-in. I guess I can see why they might do that, but I would have felt incredibly self-conscious myself. We all have such different experiences! Good luck to you!

    Cottage cheese

First - love your avatar! I haven't really detected tanginess. Have you tried it with spices or perhaps blended up with something else? When I was on purée I blended it with some chicken. It wasn't spectacular, but it was edible. :-) I also blended it with refried Beans and salsa (it was ok).

    Insure Nutrition

If that is the one that advertises on this site (to get protein shakes covered by insurance), many people have expressed negative comments about that company.
