This is a bit off topic, but I was so crazy hungry the first month. That will pass and you won't be thinking about your first cheat food. ????

It bothers me that the insurance company is being billed $5000 for it. That's outrageous. Those costs come back to the insured in the form of higher premiums. This sounds like the scooter folks who are now serving time for insurance fraud. I'm out.

I told nosy people at work who kept asking "how are you losing all that weight?" that I had a cocaine problem. It quiets them very quickly.

5 day ouch reset was a game changer for me. I feel like I've gone back to very early restriction levels. Give it a shot.

I was drinking quite often and it slows your weight loss and makes my stomach hurt. I've been super strict on my diet (sans alcohol) and have still lost a lot of weight but it's better to avoid the booze - sorry to say.
For the rest of you - no lectures, please. I've reformed.

Sure, you can simply not eat, and eventually the weight will come off. However, if you decide starving yourself for the sake of a pushy boyfriend works faster than the diet plan proposed by your doctor, nutritionist, nurses, and medical team (you know, those folks who do this for a living and spend countless years in school, training, and field experience), expect to enjoy the following along with a dip on your scale:
    Thin, dull, lifeless hair
weight lost from your muscles, the things that keep you toned/firm rather than simply your waistline
    diarrhea
    anemia
    weakness/fatigue
    depression/apathy
bad/blotchy/rash-covered skin that loses it's healthy color
    loose teeth
    abnormal menstruation
    circles under your eyes
deficiency of potassium and Calcium, the electrolytes responsible for muscle function and HEART FUNCTION
Loss of ability to recognize dehydration and hunger
This is not what you want. If you are starving yourself because some guy wants you smaller, you need to seriously step back and re-evaluate your life. If you had a daughter or best friend who was doing the same thing even if it wasn't for a man, what would you tell her? To knock it off and do it the healthy way (which is also the way that produces the best results). Don't go for short-term results at the expense of serious long term problems.

I could eat a whole egg, and I could drink a whole shake, don't let them get in your head, a lot of patients don't feel a big difference till they are eating real foods that take up more room.

I thought I had wasted my time with the surgery until I started eating real food again. Now I feel the restriction. I wouldn't let the first couple of months scare you. The restriction comes. Just stick with the plan!

I don't think I puréed one thing. I'm not saying you should go rogue like me, but I ate extremely soft foods for two months and chewed very well. I lived on eggs, cheese, and yogurt. Also blueberries, avocado, etc. I am positive some folks won't agree with me but I had no issues. I guess I'm just a rebel like @LipstickLady.

The one thing we all know is that everyone's plan is different. I stalled because my body couldn't get out of starvation mode. Once they upped my calories I started losing again. I have not been very successful on working out every day - I struggle with energy after working 10 to 12 hour days. Yes I get all my Protein in. I am two months out and I still have a shake every day. I think you have to find what works for you - we all have advice but you need to see what makes your body happy.

Eventually you will be able to get in your Protein and liquid goals. No, sleeves don't stretch, but the swelling will go down so you can consume more.
You say you've never eaten when you're not hungry? Serious question for you (not judgey, genuinely curious). How did you get to 300+ pounds eating only when you're hungry? I'm fascinated by this "listen to your body" theory. I listened to my body and ended up needing WLS...
    My body isn't too bright.

Biggest surprise for me was the emotions, dealing with the head hunger, and acne. My skin has been clear forever but I've been breaking out ever since I had the surgery. They say it's normal but I hate it. Also, I am exhausted. I work a lot of hours but I am surprised at my lack of stamina. I am having to dig very deep to drag myself to the gym after work. And the weight does not just fall off - at least for me. I have to work at it every day. Also, how disheartening it is when the scale doesn't move. That's tough too.

Go ahead! Go ahead and compromise your health. You obviously have no intentions of following your postop instructions. You have no interest in making the necessary lifestyle changes. You might as well start your road to failure now. Go ahead. Get it over with. Too bad all that money was wasted on you instead of someone willing to take WLS seriously.
