  1. Hi I'm a week post bypass and am wondering if I'm doing enough exercise, I'm pottering around the house and taking the dog on short 15 min walks 3 times a day, should I be doing more? Is it safe?

    where did you sleep?

Had my op on 7th jan 2015 was home on 9th of jan and just had paracetamol for pain relief, the only pain I really felt was the dredded gas pain, i slept in my own bed the 1st night home ( very uncomfortably ) the main problem I've had is tiredness and anxiety by hyperventilating none stop since I went in for the op, but it's starting to ease a little each day. Just had the war wound dressings taken off yesterday and all is healing good, just the water is a nightmare, trying to sip 2ltr a day is a task and a half & I'm going out a few times a day on short dog walks... Going off the subject a bit here lol, but sleeping now is a lot better. ????
  3. Still in pain, both gas and surgery pain and been up all night with my usual anxiety and hyperventilating, just on paracetamol for pain relief although I was given morphine in recovery yesterday at 6:00pm, so not feeling great at the mo.
  4. I've been out of surgery 3 1/2 hours and my whole abdomen is painful, just hope I can use the toilet as I can hardly move at the min

    January 15th, 2015 Anyone?

The pre op diet hasn't been really bad it's just boring, I feel like a rabbit, 1 weetabix for breakfast with a small amount of skimmed milk, salad for lunch & dinner, 2 pieces of fruit a day.

  9. Thanx, I have to go to intensive care straight after my op because of the whole sleep apnea thing and just wonder if I'll be in there all night or not.. Well I'll soon find out as I go in on 7th of jan so not long now.. The Nerves are kicking in alright, thanx for your help
  10. Just wondering what I can expect the 1st night after my opp, will I be aware of anything like for example: will I be awake enough for tv? Will I even feel like it? And visitors, is there any point in anyone coming to see me?

    Pre assessment

At my pre assessment I seen a nurse who basically asked me some health questions, discussed my recent blood sample, took my hight, weight, blood pressure & had an ECG.
