I had my surgery May 5th. So far is going well, looking forward to what's coming next.

I no longer have sleep apnea, and my depression seems to be cured! *fingers crossed*

I have a rare auto immune disorder ( about 200,000 cases, extremely rare in white women, can effect any organ in the body, currently effects my heart, sleep, and lungs) I have 2 lung masses, I see cardiology, pulmonary, and oncology. I have svt on top of that and had an ablation in hopes that it will keep me from getting a pacemaker (so far, my episodes have decreased), even with all this, I still feel better then I have in the last 7 years. Acid reflux got really bad after the sleeve but I was bypassed 3 months ago and that resolved completely. It was easily the best choice I made

I have depression and anxiety and see a psychiatrist and the surgery didn't make it worse. If anything, I am a lot happier.

Hello im in the process of getting surgery, i really wanted a gastric Sleeve but my surgeon doesn't think is the best for me as i have really bad GERD, i know is a drastic lifestyle change but i have tried so many diets, weight loss program, supervised,gym, etc... i feel like this is my last option to lose the weight. I have two children one is 6 my little girl is 4 and i just feel they need to have their mom healthy to enjoy life with them, right now im always in pain, Migraines, back pain, joints, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, pre diabetes, pseudo-tumor cerebri, is so many that i feel if i don't get the surgery and don't lose the weight i wont be around to see my kids grow up but at the same time im scared of RNY because i know how risky this surgery is and complications that can come with it. I heard there is a chance your body can reject the surgery? Did any of you had these feelings if so what helped overcome it? Thank you in advance

Nice to hear Christine, i have always gone to NY Presbyterian colombia at 168th st, thats where i had my two kids and all my doctors are there its a good hospital ive just never heard people talking about wls there, i have an app on monday with my pcp im gonna have to ask her and learn more about wls there ???? Thank you all for all the encouragement im feeling better already, i just got scared because from the get go all i had in my mind was the sleeve i never thought it would change one day to another but im feeling better the more i know about gastric bypass, thank you all for the support so much appreciated

Wow nice to hear, that is the hosp i always go to all of my doctors are there I've just haven't heard alot of having weight loss surgery at Presby i have an appoinment the 5th with my pcp I'm going to ask her, Good luck on your surgery let me know how it went????
