  1. Come throughhhhhhh Lenny and Larry's Protein cookies! Now they come in crunchy and single serving size! Finally.

      shedo82773

They are good but...1/2 the cookie is a serving. They are BIG but I found that I wanted it ALL!! When we went to Juarez Mexico for hubbys WLS they saved him. At least that is what he thought. LOL

  3. I started taking Benefiber this morning (mixed it in with my Premier Protein shake), and within 15 minutes my body was going "Fiber? What's THAT?!?"

I knew it would work, but I didn't realize it would work THAT quickly.

I finally had to do something with going poop. ( sorry). I stated taknig MIRALAX. I only use 1/2 of the amount it states, because when I took the whole serving it gave me the BACKDOOR TROTS> I also don't take it everyday. I wait until I get the tell tales of needing the help. Also it is tasteless literally!! I have high taste problems along with smelling big time. If I smell it I can't get er down. This stuff isn't even a laxitive, it pulls the fluid from your body with out getting the harsh side effects. I think it is the best stuff going. Check it out.

  4. Last night was my first night home and it wasn't an easy one. I have a low bed so getting into and out of it was unpleasant. Before I went to sleep, I forgot to take a dose of Tylenol and didn't want to get back up because of the discomfort. Well, that was probably not the best decision in the world. So, sleep wasn't the best and I awoke several times. Each time I awoke, I had to get to the bathroom to pee. Since I am really afraid of dehydration putting me back in the hospital, I didn't go back to bed. I went to the kitchen for an 8oz bottle of water. It takes me about 20 minutes to drink that water. But better to hydrate than to be at too much of a deficit by morning.

Some times I have heard of people sleeping in their recliner. I didn't but from past surguries I have worked a plan out of how to get out of bed without to much pain. You will get it figured out for sure. Congratulations on having your WLS

  5. Hi there, ^_^

I joined this site to learn and get in touch from fellow WLS-friends. I had my gastric bypass surgery on 5th of february 2018. My weightloss has been steady but slow.

I am a mother of 2 and id love to reach a healthy weight so My body isnt holding me back anymore to take part in life.

    Current weight 102KG /224 pounds:blush:

My personal goal is to lose 35KG or 77 pounds.. Making me weigh 67kg or 147 Pounds. (bmi 27.5)

To have a healthy BMI of 25 however i should lose at least 40kg or 88 pounds to reach a weight of 62KG or 136 pounds.

At the hospital where I had my surgery- we keep to a 800 -  1000 cal high protein diet. counting proteins between 50 and 70 depending on your body height.

Ive heard so many different opinions and rules that different countries and hospitals keep to.. but i welcome your input and advice.

My weightloss so far: Start weight on surgery day 108.5

    9 February 106.6 (-1.9)
    16 February 105.6 (-1 )
    26 February 104.3 (-1.3
    5 March  103.6 (-700gr
    Total Feb 103.6 kg
    2nd month March -> Goal- 99.8
    12 Maart 102.8 ( -800gr )

  7. Just got back on here need some support have gotten off track. I am a year and 2 months out and my weight goes up and down while I have lost a total of 90 pounds and I am in a 14 I still gain back and forward mainly because I have gotten back to some of my old habits especially when stressed while i dont wanna inch up back up to my pre surgery weight still feel like I am at a stand still thinking about doing a pouch reset and start fresh and support is needed.

    1. shedo82773

      shedo82773

Maybe you can try to go back to the basics. I'm sure your WLS is still good. Try to measure everything you eat and write everything you eat down in a diary follow what you eat and drink then comes the worst one add some exercise. Even if you start with 15 minutes then add more time. You can do this!! I know you can because you already proved it. Take care

  8. Day 3 of pre op diet... I am Hungry!!! but pushing through it

  9. I had my surgery in April I came out of surgery sad and depressed and still feel the same way. Has anyone else had this problem.

    1. shedo82773

      shedo82773

Well, it didn't happen that way for me but I have heard many talks about hormones in our fat and after surgery, as we are losing the are bouncing all over the place. Have you been depressed before your surgery? Can you talk to your Dr about getting some kind of meds to help your depression? I am the upbeat type of person but if I am not doing what I am supposed to (exercise, eating clean) I find myself sinking into that depressed spot!! There is nothing wrong in asking for help. Good Luck I hope evrything works out for you!!

  10. My story serves as a warning to people thinking about bariatric surgery in Mexico or any other foreign country, especially if you are considering Weight Loss Team in Puerto Vallarta with Dr. Juan Francisco Hidalgo.

    1. shedo82773

      shedo82773

I am beyond myself, the pure hell you have been thru!! Man O mighty!! My hubby and I went to Juarez, Mexico for his surgery. It was not good but nothing at all like what happened to you!! I would not recommend the Dr that did his surgery. I do believe the DR was a good surgeon but he ran his surgeries like crazy. I think he had 5 or 6 scheduled. We didn't get the surgery that we paid for and didn't receive the amount back that we were told either. I do think he went to the wrong place. This BARIATRICPAL in Mexico sounds wonderful. If and when I can get my Plastic's done I would use them. Again I won't go into too much but if you are curious just ask. I also had strictures and needed 5 Endoscopes with 4 Dilations. I do know after I started going to another Bariatric Center which performed my last endo in Jan of 2015, They had to use a size 18 balloon on me and I haven't had any problems since. Again, take care and KEEP ON KEEPING ON!!!

  11. Just used Black Friday as an excuse to buy some new clothes! Hopefully, I will be too thin for them in a few weeks or months, so it's probably a total waste of money, but I could not resist!

    1. shedo82773

      shedo82773

I say whatever it takes to put a smile on our faces. My hubby always tells me to go buy stuff that I want and sometimes I can resist but not always. The sad thing is you know how they tell us to be careful that cross-addiction is a biggy thing for WL People!! I can say yep I got it!! Hubby wanted me to become Sex addicted, NOPE didn't happen...shopping YES MAM!! It is so sad...I look in y closet and I have stuff I haven't even worn. At first, I had people that could wear some of my clothes that got too big. But now I don't have anyone to give them too. I guess I am a creature of habit for sure. I find a blouse that I like and I get kind of stuck on them. LOL Go shopping and love every minute of it!! We do deserve it. Have a great day!!

  15. Today I managed to flush a ring down the toilet. It just flew off my hand at the worst moment. I guess my fingers have lost weight too!

    1. shedo82773

      shedo82773

How sad indeed!! That would really upset me. Was it your wedding ring? I had mine sized but now if my fingers don't swell my rings turn around and poke me. But I told my hubby I didn't want to resize them again. The first time was after I lost a lot of weight and I lost it in the bed. My eyes popped open it scared me so bad. But there is no saving it when it goes down the toilet. So sorry Maybe your significant other can buy you a new one. It might be a sign that you need it. Have a great evening.

How is your protein intake? Are you getting enough fluids? Are you following your Dr's guidelines? Also, I have heard people say that they changed up their exercise regiment, increased their protein. Are you eating more carbs now? Just a few things to check out. Good Luck. And KEEP ON KEEPING ON!!!

Do you still have your gallbladder? Your Pancreas also sits on your upper right side. Are you diabetic? I would get it checked out before too long. Is it sharp> Dull come and go? I hope everything works out. Keep us posted.

  22.  I have fibromyalgia so exercise hurts. But I have reached the point where I see the exercise is necessary. Unfortunately we have reached fall and so I can no longer use my pool. Since I only last about 30 minutes i'm wondering if I should be walking or attempt weight training.

    1. shedo82773

      shedo82773

Hi, I also have Fibromyalgia and since my RNY I have pretty much continued to walk. I walk 3 to 4 times a week, 3 to 4 miles each time. This is the only exercise I do. It has got better as I lost my weight. I can't say that I don't have pain, I never had problems with my knees before my surgery. Now it is bad!! I have had Ultra-sound guided Gel shots in my knee's also Steroid shot. I ask why it happened after I lost my weight, my DR told me that if I hadn't waited I would be in a wheelchair!! I am so glad it waited to plague me!! I find that walking is great for me: I call it my attitude adjustment time!!! I can be having a rough day and go for my walk and I come back happy!! Good Luck

  24. Surgery is TOMORROW! It doesn't even feel real! I'm sitting here having my decaf coffee 'breakfast' and trying to just keep as busy as I can today so I can try to avoid the fact that I'm on 'clear' liquids all day today, no protein shakes  I brought chicken bone broth and chicken bouillon cubes to try for lunch, and must have brought half a pound's worth of sugar free lemon lime jello for snacks haha. Lord this day can't be done with soon enough!
