I'M OBSESSED WITH MY COLLARBONES!
I'm just shy of being a month out (I make a month on the 14th). I've lost just about 30 pounds so far. I'm basically on losing a pound a day. My collarbones are now showing! My face has gotten noticeably smaller and I've been getting all of the compliments! My aunt even asked if I photoshopped my face on one of my pictures! Yes, I take that as a compliment. My body in general looks smaller, my breasts are pretty much gone with the wind but my booty is still plump! I guess since it's hereditary! I can fit a medium/large now in pants and shirts. Depends on the material. My legs are smaller, stomach smaller, I'm just so happy.
10 pounds away from the 100s!!!!!!!!!
I've been toning my arms and legs and I've been walking at the park and on the treadmill at the gym.
My diet now includes grits (but not often), oatmeal, red potatoes, cooked vegetables, canned fruit (light), diet gatorade, green tea, crab grape juice.
This weekend I add boiled and scrambled eggs, multigrain crackers, Melba toast.
Next week I add baked salmon, canned tuna, stuff to that nature.
I've been doing really well, keeping everything down. Only thing I really loathe is those damn Protein shakes! I'm just so tired of them. I'm supposed to be at 60 grams a day and I'm getting at least 30 grams. But today I started drinking on Premier Protein shake in the morning, and I'll have one later during the day.
I get really really really fast. Like after about 5 small spoonfuls of grits or I can eat about 3 pieces of red potatoes.
I'm still having problems not drinking with my meals. food makes me thirsty!
That's pretty much it though, I need to start my Calcium Vitamins today also. So that's on my to do list.

Normal is just a setting on the washing machine. It is typical to get nervous before major surgery. I got to a point when I was fed up feeling sick and being mentally and physically unhealthy. I am a single mom with a 10 year old child. His father died due to some circumstances that were controllable if he had only dropped his pride and tried harder. I don't want to die in 10 years due to obesity related illnesses. That would be a hard blow for my son to bear knowing that his other parent died of something that was controllable. This surgery helps put your destiny or future in your hands. Yes, there is a complication chance. But statistics show that the chances are incredibly low. The chances of dying from obesity related illness is larger if you continue on the same path. Others have written a list of pros and con's to help remind them why they are going through with this surgery. If your list doesn't help put you at ease, maybe you aren't ready yet. I wish you luck no matter whatever decision you choose!

Absolutely! You'll be glad to know that you are perfectly 100% normal. Don't second guess yourself. You've made the right choice for yourself at this time in your life. Fortunately, you're still young enough to have a long healthy life. Many of us did it later in life and WISH we had done it when you did. I actually enjoy eating out and in company now because I'm no longer the first person finished, I can conversate and eat at the same time and not over eat. Because, when I'm full my body tells me so. You'll do great. Go with your first instinct and enjoy your new life.

sooooo happy today! Found out finally my total amount to be taken from my 401K plus my care credit card will take care of my entire surgery. I was scared for awhile that the stock market would fluctuate before my 401K money was removed and I would be short. BUT! Found out it was removed from the account yesterday and is on it's way to my bank account. whew! onward!

Should we set up a Facebook page for all of us around this date so it's easier to stay in touch? Thoughts? I'll set it up if folks are interested.

Morning everyone! My name is Shannon and I live in Kansas. My surgery date for the sleeve is 12/16. I'm so happy to have come across such a great website with all of these resources!
I'm wondering what everyone else is doing to prep for surgery? Did you buy a blender and food processor etc? What other things are you making sure are in place in your life before you have surgery? Also, what Protein Powder is everyone using? I've seen so many suggestions it would be nice to get some real life suggestions too

Hi there my date is December 18 I haven told anyone and saying it here makes it so much real. I am extremely nervous. I am doing a 10 day pre op liquid diet

I like my shakes like my women!! Lol!!! Love it!

Thanks everyone! I bought the Jay Robb yesterday and it seems to be pretty decent so far. I'm definitely going to need a little variety though. I also can't believe how long it takes me to drink a 12 oz shake. It should have been obvious based on my Water intake, I guess. LOL!!
