Did anyone else get internal stitching with their procedure? It makes one of your incisions look like a dimple. I did and it's the only thing I'm struggling with after surgery. A lot of pain and discomfort from time to time.

Hi RedS, sounds like my story down to a T! I was sleeved on Jan 14th and I am feeling the same! I haven't had any nausea, just lots of soreness when in transition to stand/sit. I don't have an appetite at all so it has been difficult to force myself to drink or eat anything, especially Water. I have my first follow-up tomorrow and I am hoping he gives me green light to puréed food- might be wishful thinking! I am so ready to be over this hump and begin my new life!
Love hearing from all of you - best of luck in recovery to each of you!

Who is thrilled to be past surgery!!? IN recovery and starting to see results!!? I still pinch myself some mornings to make sure it's real! I'm 30lbs down from pre op starting. and have had zero complications since surgery ( gas pain and excess Fluid was my only struggle.) I feel so blessed to be given this TOOL for a better life! It's not always easy and HOLY COW - full time job getting enough Water and Protein. We ARE doing this people! And we WILL succeed!! Let's keep things positive and encourage people wherever they are at, in their personal journey. Your all winners... ????

    You will be fine.
It's a rollercoaster ride and hang on tight. You are excited to hop on...You are going to freak of the unknown, then you reach to the top (surgery), then it goes over the hump and down in speed (coaster going fast), there will be twists and turns you will laugh, hang tight, be in disbelief, then excited and before you know it your off the coaster. Then you will have a euphoric experience and say...i would do that again and walk away happy.

I wanted to let yall know that a binder or something like Spanx sure does help.i had been wearing Spanx and then last night they were all in the wash and when I tried to get up or down or turn over in beef it felt like something was going to rip. So I swear by a Spanx, binder, or any somewhat tight body shaping cami. It's made all the difference for me.

Phase II pureed foods starts tomorrow. I'm very confused about Protein Drinks. If I'm using that as a Meal Replacement does that count as liquid as well? Also do I only drink 4 oz every 4 hrs? Somethings I'm now allowed to eat that I actually like. Watermelon (super excited about this), creamed spinach, blended yogurt, mashed potatoes w. Gravy or sour cream. If you are headed to phase II please share some ideas on what to eat. Hope everyone is punishing through.

Hi everyone! I was sleeved on Jan 6 th. I too struggled with gas and pain. I discovered Gas - X strips and they were a life saver! Also, for a more restful sleep, go get 1 or 2 body pillows. I have been sleeping in my bed since coming home from the hospital, and have 2 body pillows (1 for each side) that pending on which way I laid, I would put one side between my legs and hug against the tummy, and the other to support my back. Worked wonders!

I am in HORRIBLE pain when I get up out of a chair or when I sit down! Once I'm in position I'm fine but the transition is excruciating! I'm hoping this is normal although I don't how much longer I can tolerate it!!!

Hi All, thank you for checking on me! The surgery and recovery has been surprisingly good! No gas really, no nausea, just a dull throbbing pain in my stomach (especially area where stomach was pulled through), Getting up and sitting down is rough but manageable. I really really hope I am going through the worst of it now and that it doesn't hit me in a couple days or week! One day at a time!
Thanks again to all who have checked on me.... I love our circle of supporters!

Sounds like the anesthesia and pain meds from the hospital have worn off. Some soreness is to be expected. If you feel you need something to take the edge off call your doctor and have them prescribe something. You need to move at least once an hour to keep your muscles strong and help get rid of any residual gas. It's okay to need a little something for pain.

    Hello Mariah
I was in pain after the procedure. The key for me was to stay ahead of the pain ie take the pain medications continuously for the first few days then taper off gradually. That really helped me keep the pain under control. Besides the pain i had really bad fatigue and nausea. Like taking a shower just wore me out. Things will get better hang in there!!!!!!!!

Theses of you who have had it done, you know what it feels like in the waiting room...then to have the, tell you to go home and continue prep. I was devastated! Trying to keep everything in perspective and keep a positive state of mind! Thanks for all your support! I love reading everyone's trials, tribulations, and success stories!

About two weeks before my procedure I went to Minnisota. While I was there I went into a Sears and bought a belt. When I got the belt back to the hotel to put it on it was too small. However as of today the belt fits. What a good feeling!!!!!!!!

I had surgery Oct 18. At that time I was wearing a size 22/24 pants. Walking through the parking lot today I felt my underwear sliding down inside my pants! I have a belt for my pants but clearly I need new underwear! I did go to the store and slipped right into a size 18 which made me very happy.
