    Any Northern Michigan Sleeves?

Yes, the Soo. I am glad to hear you got through the surgery. Did you have much pain? When you say tired, are you talking napping all day or up but not doing much activity?

    Any Northern Michigan Sleeves?

Hi, I am in the SSM but still waiting for approval. How are you feeling?
  3. Sure, I would love to be your buddy. I too have decided on the sleeve but I am at the start of this seemingly lengthy process. Lucky you to have your date set and so close!

    Caffeine

I would wean off with 1 less serving every couple of days or what you can tolerate. That's what I did before I got pregnant and avoided the headaches and jitters.

    I knew better but...

That will be me, down here in New Orleans and eating all the spicy food I can, because I guess after the VS, spicy food will be a no no.

  7. Just read your post, you look great by the way. I am really interested in this because I am 51, fast approaching menopause and wondering what my s/s will be. I know my mum had this same problem, was prescribed vag creams with estrogen and then developed breast cancer which was estrogen receptor positive. So, that will not be an option for me.

    100 lbs lost! Woo Hoo!

That's awesome, you look great. Waiting to even get into my first apt so now even more excited.

    7 Months Post Op

I haven't even had my first apt yet, but, focus on what you have lost........65 lbs good for you! Maybe this is just one of those periods where you have tapered off, but if you stick with it, you will start losing again. The alternative is just weight gain and complications, so hang in there. I would give anything to lose 65 lbs, think of how good you look and the health benefits you've gained so far. Keep reading other posts, maybe there will be something suggested that will work for you.

    Pre-surgery

Winter in the UP, presentation cancelled due to bad weather! But the Dr apt still stands.

    Pre-surgery

Today I finally got an apt with the doc, Dec 22! Presentation tomorrow.

Scared I will be denied by insurance!

I am just starting down the same road as you are. Presentation on Tuesday and then I can schedule my first Dr's apt. I know I am borderline and its frustrating. Not "big" enough and not "ill" enough but the writing is on the wall.

    I'm confused....BCBS of MI

I am attending a presentation Tuesday and then I will probably be getting an apt with my Dr in Michigan, so I might be going down the same road as you.
  14. I was thinking about doing this if I get denied, so I can't wait to find out how it works out for you. Good luck!

    Pre-surgery

I am 51, 5'4" and weigh 220 lbs, most of my weight is right on my belly. I am a nurse and on my feet all day. I have controlled asthma, plantar fasciitis, arthritis in my ankles, yeast infections, abcesses and a bum left knee. I was skinny and athletic all my life even after 3 kids. However, at age 37, I left a bad marriage and was put on Paxil to help deal with anxiety and depression. In 6 months I ballooned to 170 lbs and then 4 years of university, while going through a 10 year expensive divorce battle, brought me up to 235 lbs. I have always been able to control my weight with diet and exercise prior to this weight gain, but nothing is working now. I have tried every type of diet and exercise program and yes, I might lose weight (one time up to 50 lbs) but immediately gain it back. Everybody in my family is obese. My mother has 12 siblings, my father 5 and everyone of them has metabolic syndrome so I know its just a matter of time. The writing is on the wall. After almost 15 years of yo-yo dieting, I have reached to point of giving up. I don't even see the point of watching what I eat and going to the gym anymore. Then after going to a surgeon who is connected to a weight loss practice, I started to get excited again. My BMI of 37 and lack of recognized comorbid conditions might not let me qualify for anything other than the band unless I am willing to pay out of pocket and even then I am not sure. I am tired of everyone telling me I look great, I carry my weight well, I could do it on my own and not have surgery etc. I attend a WLS presentation on Tuesday and can't wait.
