    How Long to Wait?

I had a serious conversation with my surgeon last Thursday. He agreed to start the paper work to get my band removed. I haven't decided on a revision yet, but I really considering it. I've been banded for 2 years and lost only about 20 lbs total.... I am over my band. Good luck & trust your instincts.

SLIPPED BAND...It is a BIG DEAL!

I am sorry to hear your story. I am just recovering from the stomach flu. I am really worried that my band could have slipped. I vomitted repeatedly for about 5 hours straight. What were your first signs that your band slipped?
  6. spjrkb, I was banded by Dr. Stephen Davis at Emory Hospital. The hospital does not charge any crazy fees. The only thing that wasn't cover by Aetna was my nutrionist appointments. I would suggest you look around for another doctor.

    Slipped! Has Yours?

Sharilynn1965 there is an entire thread dedicated to lap band to sleeve patients. Band to Sleeve Revisions - Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy Surgery (VSG) Forum
  8. I constantly read about people hitting the "Sweet Spot" with the band. What does that feel like? Are you able to eat just a few bites without pbing or vomiting and that is the sweet spot? Is part of being in the sweet spot, acknowledging that you can no longer tolerate certain foods? I am so confused on how tight or loose my band should be. If it is too loose then I can eat a whale. If it is tight then I might be able to eat 3 crackers. What size meal should I be able to eat in the "sweet spot"?
  9. I am in a similar situation as you. I received my lapband in 2008 and quickly lost a few pounds. I don't know if I ever took it seriously. :smile2: Anyway, when I did decide to get serious about my weight loss. I found out I was pregnant (August 2009). I delivered a healthy baby boy on April 1. During my pregnancy I ate whatever I wanted & I never gained a pound. THANK YOU LAPBAND!!!! At my deliver date I was -5 lbs from my initial appointment. Now my son is 4 months old, its time for mama to get serious. Before my lapband surgery I was always on this website & day dreaming of the day I would be skinny. Anyway, the last time I logged in was April 28, 2009. Not anymore! I've made a follow up with my doc to get a fill next week & I will start over. I say all this, to tell you. You can start over during pregnancy. Or after pregnancy! Don't feel ashamed or embarassed of your progress thus far. You are not alone. Good luck & have a safe & healthy pregnancy. P.S. I was so tired while I was pregnant. I didn't excersise one time.
