I was told I would not feel hungry for about 3 weeks after surgery by my doctor. Needless to say that was an untruth. I feel hungry every single moment of every single day. Anybody else bought that lie ? What to do ? I brush my teeth , take walks, drink extra fluids..... . Is this really what my life is going to be about from now on?

I came out of surgery unstable with my blood pressure . Way too low. something like 60/50 . With meds and fluids I was on my way up the next day. Now, after 3 weeks it is down again. Today 90/55 . I take high blood pressure meds that Primary P prescribed. I get up and black out. I cut my meds in half only taking two of them, with no relief. I have passed out twice and am now afraid to get out and walk because I would not enjoy a face plant on concrete in front of may others. I have a doc appoint on Monday and we will be getting to the core of this issue fast I hope. Anybody else have BP issues

I had the good luck to have Dr Machado in Sacramento at Mercy San Juan. The greatest experience I could have had considering the procedure. She is just great, the best in the area as I am told by all the nurses I encountered. Use her if you can!

Homecie replied to brown eyed gal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 wks out, and from Calif. My doc said 1/4 c Water, Protein drink for 1 month. After a month I get a T protein, 1T veggies, 1T of meat or fish or yogurt. When I read how much and how soon some of you can eat I get really jealous. I just keep thinking slow and steady -
promise of not feeling hungry
Homecie replied to Homecie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I muddled through this faze and now don't feel hungry much. I started to really focus on protein, and water. It was just like night and day. It took the ole body a while for the dust to settle and make all right. I took everyone's advice and concentrated on protein, then water and it worked. Thank you all -
What five things would you tell a newbie........

Be patient! Go with Protein and I mean protein first, then Water, then vit. Drink plenty of water. Rest, and don't make your body rush into anything. You have just had major surgery, let the dust settle. -
How to heat protein powder?
Homecie replied to brown eyed gal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Use Piping Rock unflavored protein. I have not had a problem with "cottage cheese" by using this. It is also cheapest protein I have found. It is my absolutely favorite protein, and it can be used with liquid heated in the micro for about 1 min without curdling. -
Try piping rock, it is the cheapest I have found that it mixes with warmer liquids without making "cottage cheese" in your glass. It has the least aftertaste. I use the unflavored and can mix anything with it. I have tried at least 10 different powders and really like this the best. I use the internet to purchase it, and it is shipped super quickly. Also, Bariatri choice has some great berry protein mixes too.

I am part of this club too. Surgery on Nov 4,2014 lost 12 lbs and have been stuck on 198 for two weeks. I was afraid that a stall this early out, 3 weeks, is a sign of doom. Your stories tell me we are normal and to keep on keeping on. I have no problem taking the water or protein, and am allowed 2T of soft protein foods 2xs a day. I only eat it once a day and try try try to drink and protein. I walk 40 min a day. Can anyone else tell me what their daily routine is?

Any Fun Hospital Stories?
Homecie replied to Jonathan Blue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to use that little bottle of liquid explosion the night before surgery to expel anything and I mean anything in my digestive tract. It just about took my ear wax and sucked my eyelashes right through me too. Just kidding. I then had surgery and still no Water to drink. I awoke around three in the morning ready to get up and walk. As I drug around my catheter bag and IV cart, I asked everyone I saw for water. Begged. I even offered to pay if nurses would slip me some. I started to chant.....WATER.........WATER............ No one felt sorry for me, all they gave me was one of those sponge lollipops. I think that was the most uncomfortable part of the surgery. No regrets though! -
God bless ya. I am two pounds away from the same number. Keep up the hard work.......
