  1. I have posted about this before but I feel like I need to revisit it. 6 months in and my hair (which I didn't have a lot to spare to begin with) is still falling out … a lot. People really cannot notice but all the hair around the house and the tiny pony tails plus the bunches in my brushes/combs shows me much to worry about. I am doing Biotin but I do not see it doing anything for me unless not being completely bald is the magic. My question is this: Will cutting my hair make a difference or will it continue to fall out regardless? I am seeing my physician soon and will definitely ask but I just wanted to hear other thoughts. It is just very worrisome and just seeing all this hair come out is beginning to take a toll on me. As far as weight loss it is slow and steady but I know that I need to contribute more to reach my goal at a faster pace. Thanks in advance for any and all feedback.
  2. Thank you everyone for all your help, saw my physician and they recommended to advise a dermatologist. I may just cut it anyway.

    S.O.S.

Living55, Wow. Thank you for the words of encouragement. I think getting it out helped tremendously. I tend to keep things bottled inside, and that is what has me in this position right now. God has brought me too far to turn around now. I can do this! Amen! You are on the right track already. I know exactly what you mean about having things bottled up, its why I joined here. I am thankful my words were of some assistance to you. If possible keep me posted on your progress, I know they will be amazing!

    S.O.S.

It's completely normal to have all these emotions kicking you in the butt at the same time. Keep in mind that NO it is not the easy way out. It is hard and it is a last resort. Those who do not know a lifetime of struggle cannot fathom what one goes through, but you know. Be comfortable with yourself and your decision. Know that this is a life altering and life saving choice. You will come out the other side healthy and brand new and not without work but it will be worth it, your life is worth it. To all the naysayers, you know what they say about opinions. Additionally that and $2 bucks will get you a cup of coffee. Be strong, be blessed and push forth. You will be alright
  7. Slowly but surely its coming off :)

  8. I loved reading all the "positive" comments on here. I realized that I used/use my weight as a shield, protection from men from issues from my past as well. I got attention at any size and it felt/feels weird and the thought of that doubling is scary. That being said, I am working and will continue to work on feeling protected and safe with my smaller self journey. "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13
  9. Thank you all It was really helpful.
  10. I know verterens may be tired of this topic and it may have been done to death but I have researched the topic and get conflicting and half answers. I am 2.5 months preop and have been experiencing hair loss for the past few weeks. I already have thin hair and am very worried. I have read that Biotin is good and am currently waiting on my doctor to approve me taking it (have an underlying condition so I must be careful). I see many people started using it before their surgery so I feel behind. My concern is, will it grow back? I knew before surgery I may experience this but I really do not want to be noticeably bald. Please share your experiences and advice with me. Thanks. -Worried

    My Breath smell awful

Hello, I cannot smell my own breath, but you know how at times you can kind of taste it? It happens to me at times. I just carry mints. Do not brush so much, you will ruin the enamel of your teeth that way. Morning/night, floss/gargle and you will be fine. It will go away, its usually dehydration that does it so drink drink drink. Best of luck to you
  14. 2 months out and almost 30lb lost, feeling Good :)

    Alcohol?

Interesting, I was told 3 months for caffeine, 6 for alcohol. I for one will and can wait. I would not want to harm my sellf for anything on this planet. I have been obese for what feels like forever, 6 months alcohol free is nothing.

    Post op pain

Wow so sorry to hear that. I didnt get incision pain until 2 weeks Post Op (the local anesthesia finally wore off) but I did have a lot of gas pain, that was ridiculous especially straight out of surger but as I began to move and time went out it got better. I believe it really is individual, just have to hang in there. The ultimate goal of healthier living makes it worth it. Feel better soon.
  17. I personally cannot sit there that long. 10-20 is good. Thats movie length, and I can barely sit through that unless it is extremely gripping.
  18. Enjoying my journey :)

  19. Feeling the fear is normal but you will see that you do not give up food. You give up the urge to overeat. Additonally you start to want different things. What you had cravings for changes and you will want the food that is better for you. Once you are cleared for regular food, you can have a bite here and there. You will see that is all you need if you even want it anymore. Best of luck to you, you will do great at succeeding.

    Twoterville at last!

Congrats! What an amazing milestone …. next onederland
  21. I felt a lot of back pain. Turned out to be the gasses trapped inside. Had a lot of gas pains. The pain meds helped and walking. Felt it horribly for the first two days the. It gets better by two weeks. Gas X strips help. For me that was the worse of it. Then pain on my side through the incision where the stomach is removed. Drinks lots of liquids and stick to your liquid diet and walk walk walk. Started feeling like myself a month later but everyone varies. Best of luck.
  22. I had my WLS 11/12/14. I have followed all the rules, but I really didnt move much the first month. I am becoming more active now. I lost 15 lbs the first 2 weeks, then its been stuck, lost 2 lb the next week and now another 3. so for the first 6 weeks I’ve lost 20lbs. I feel like it may be slow. Or maybe I am just paranoid. I am definitely trying to not compare myself to others weight loss but its a little hard. I have that part of me that is negative and keeps saying this will not work. Trying to overcome that. I do not want to have gone through this for nothing. I am aware that its a good weight loss which I would not have done on my own. Just trying to figure out what the average is. I am thankful that I am feeling normal again, and I am definitely moving more, starting walking and will start yoga. I guess I am just needing some encouragement since there aren’t many people I can talk to. Althought my girls @@AValle23 and @@Klein1175 are the bomb.com LOVE YOU GIRLS <3
  23. Thank you all for the encouraging words and kindness. Merry Christmas to all ????
  24. So … I made it! I made it through my 2 weeks of liquid diet. My poor mate, he said he thinks he saw horns. I was on edge because I was so hungry, close to foaming at the mouth. Not quite, but it felt like it. It was hard, I cannot even lie. I read about those who are like “I’m not even hungry.” and I am like WELL GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!!! lol No, really I think that is great, fortunate even. I was hungry. In the second week it was kicking in, the urge to lick everything I saw my mate eating. BUT, I hung in there … knew it was the right thing to do for my health and well being and stuck it out. Now TODAY I had a boiled egg pureed with a dab of light Mayo and a 1 tbs of applesauce. I have been dreaming about that egg like it was Vin Diesal. Let me tell you, it was EVERYTHING!! I chewed 25 times and was slow. Didn’t get through all of it, lol had to lick my spoon in the applesauce just to get a taste because it all didn’t fit. I was stuffed. I know now the calling card of when to stop. Pressure on my chest and the sigh. lol I wish I stopped 2 baby spoons earlier. I took my left overs and put it in the fridge, but I feel great. So happy I stuck through my two weeks, just made my breakfast more delicious. Didn’t finish it all but it was enough, one step at a time but I feel like I’m getting there.
  25. Thank you @@Shari71 ???? and the cottage cheese is AWESOME! Wishing you continued success as well.
