There are so many nice, intelligent people contributing to these forums. Their information is on point, their insight invaluable!! I look for some of these people under all of the comments so that I can follow them for their remarks, advice and humour!!
THEN there are those people, mainly women I'm sorry to say, who take every remark, every answer, every comment that does not suit them and they turn the discussion into a battle!! They seem to feel that everything written is an attack on their sanity, their intellect or their standing in the world!! They go into attack mode with the slightest provocation and insist you leave their thread and their life!! I truly don't understand this kind of mentality and how people with such thin skin can function in the real world!!
It's so nice to a have a forum of like minded individuals, WLS/losing weight, where everything and anything can be discussed. Why ruin it with name calling, direct personal attacks and a militant stance?
Please remember now, this is MY RANT!!

Always good to see you. Five pounds in a week fantastic!
I'm glad to get support as I start shedding my winter weight. I read the posts and information you left. Thanks! It's so true. Each of our maintenance and weight loss looks different due to many factors.
My diet changes in three phases each year.
    Distance running phase:
I have a marathon in May. My calories get set to 2000+ high Protein goals. Three days before each long run, I increase carbs. After May, I have to detox from carbs and calories. Get back to bariatric basics
Bulking phase: High protein and Higher fats I'm an endomorph. I have to keep my carbs low.
Cut phase: I'm much like you... My calorie set point to lose weight is 1500. Protein goals are high.I expend a lot of energy working out.
I'm on the high end of my weight 141..It's time to cut.

@@jenn1 - I am trying to boost my metabolism. I have increased my calories to 1400, and Protein to 180 a day, and then adding five days of intense exercise. Lost five pounds this week. It's a little counter-intuitive, but decreasing calories seems to slow down your metabolism. So switching my diet to get rid of crap carbs, alcohol, and other non-productive calories while ramping up activity seems to be working for me. Hard deprivation seems to work against you. I found this article which explained it to me...
As a person becomes fitter and gains muscle mass, it is correct that he or she burns more calories at rest. However, some exercise enthusiasts have insufficient energy intakes, which do not meet the demands of their exercise programs. This imbalance may eventually reduce resting metabolic rate.

    Here I am 2017.
I'm putting my foot in my mouth. I posted a while back that I don't feel like a bariatric patient. That feeling is GONE!
I'm looking for others in maintenance that would like to drop some weight. For me, maintenance weight loss is very slow. Take's me serious work. I'm looking for support and accountability.
I'm reevaluating where I'm at. I weight lifted and bulked up over the winter. I'm up to 141. I'm back on my bariatric low carb basics again. Detoxing off carbs now.

No, unfortunately I can't afford plastic surgery. All I can say is everything between my upper thighs to my waist is a hot mess of hanging skin. It does bother me, but there's nothing I can do about it. But that's what good undergarments are for!

Like I don't know if I just gave birth or if I had anal sex with no mercy, but that was the hardest shit of my life literally! I tried pushing it back in and it wouldn't go back in, I tried pushing it out and it wouldn't come out. I tried rocking back and forth and side to side, the toilet seat almost broke like.... I am 16 days post op as of today I've been taking dulcolax, colace, and suppositories I can not go to the restroom without some stimulant and today I tried coffee. Everything from my stomach to my anus is hurting right now. I don't know if my butt will ever recover, it's still gaping. If this is how it's going to be then I need a refund on my stomach. My question is how long does it take to get back to normal and what other methods can i try to go to the restroom without complications? I've tried milk which worked briefly, I'm off pain meds, i get in my liquids, and I'm exercising. And preop my normal was everyday.

@@Thick2Thin2016 - you know, I didn't regret the first week at all. I was scared going into surgery, and nervous the week before, but once it was done and I had smile on my face and was walking down the halls. But that wasn't free. Many months of research and prep gave me that.
That said, on day 9 or so when I realized I had not pooped since surgery, well I got anxious, but not regretful.

Was just watching GMA (Good Morning America) they had two girls who lost a lot of weight and were half their size. I guess they're featured in People's Magazine because they had the editor on there and they asked why they choose those particular girls. Her response was because they lost weight the hard way no surgery no gimmicks. It really upset me to hear that because it feeds into the idea that surgery is the easy way to lose weight, but if only they knew the dedication and hard work we put in as well. I wish people would educate more before opening their mouths about anything. I don't know why it has to be a competition anyways as to who lost weight "naturally" and who got surgery. Either way you lost the weight, you're getting healthy, no way is better than the other. Okay rant over lol

OKCPirate reacted to jaynamy3 in A confession but not food related!
I must confess, I am 44 years old woman and been happily married for over 20 years. My hubby ALWAYS puts me and our 3 kids first and never allowed himself anything very nice vehicle wise.
Well, a few months ago his truck was on its last mile and I practically MADE him buy a truck I just knew he loved. Him keeping his old truck was not so much a money issue as it was he would rather buy a kid a new bat or glove etc.
We found the most awesome truck and I pretty much had to BEG him to buy it as the payment wasn't a problem.
He is so genuine and so sweet that right out of the blue the other night he grabbed me in his arms and said... "Thank you"! I asked for what and his reply was.."for making me buy my truck".
Now my confession... I almost hate it at the moment Bc I have to use the side step to get in and my knees almost all but scream at me to stop putting all my weight on them to get in the truck. I'm embarrassed.

I got sleeved on Oct 14th 2016 and the first week after surgery I questioned my sanity at having it done.. Why did I have a perfectly functioning part of my body removed?????
3 months down the line and I know why I had it done 70lb of reasons for it so far and more to go. It's worth the bit of angst that you feel and yes, you will always question yourself, it's only natural.
I would rather question myself from this weight than from 70lb at the plus end of the scale.... If I hadn't had it done I would be questioning myself as to why I did not!!
Joseph Heller had it right in Catch 22
Trust me though, It's worth it
