420 pounds gone forever! This is my journey...
wantingabetterlife replied to Justin Wiseman's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow! Congratulations to you. I am sure you will inspire so many others. -
I would think the surgeon would trump what the endo has to say. He is the one performing the procedure and if he feels comfortable doing it, he would do it. The surgeon usually consults other specialists to make sure everything else is okay with you to protect himself. If he knew your A1C was an issue prior and was prepared to go ahead, then something sounds fishy! I would definitely ask for a second opinion. Hope it all works out and moves quickly. Best of luck to you!

She is right. And the closer you get to the goal end, the slower it seems to go! Don't give up or lose hope, it will come off on its own time -

So tired of people saying you dont need surgery!
wantingabetterlife replied to Shellbell619's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you so much! And just so you know, the same people that said I shouldn't have surgery, are the ones that keep telling me that I need to stop losing weight! I just say uh-huh and keep on doing what I want! -
Trying to get to the onerland:
wantingabetterlife replied to grandmaofone's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You are losing at a great rate. You didn't gain all your excess weight in a matter of a couple of months and it won't come off that quick either. Don't try to rush it! This is the time for you to learn good eating and exercise to last you for years to come. You will hit onederland in no time! I can remember feeling the biggest accomplishment when I did. Now I look at it and am in awe that I am 50 pounds lighter than that! You will do it! Best of luck to you! -

Far from the easy way out. We all know the truth! This is YOUR life and YOUR body, who gives a crap what "they" say. If you want it, then be happy and we will support you! Best of luck! -
Just don't worry about clicking the "add entry" button. At midnight, your day closes and moves to the next. Even when I do 1000, it won't let me close it because I didn't reach their minimum recommended.

Body image at 75 pounds down.....
wantingabetterlife replied to alexsisv's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have some body dysmorphic issues. I still can't look in a mirror and see what everyone else sees. It is pretty common on this site though. We lose weight pretty fast and our brains can't relate. Photos help me more than the mirror, especially if I am with someone else in them. I can visually see myself next to someone and my loss is more apparent to me. I just now got to the point where I can go into a store and not try to get a size that is way too big for me. It takes time but hopefully it will get better. A good therapist also helps. -
Using Syntrax Nectar question
wantingabetterlife replied to StephBtoo's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I visited AllStarHealth and they only have 6 flavors, offer $5.95 Flat Rate Shipping (2-7 days) + they're a $1 or so higher than a lot of places per box. We're going to attempt to be the most competitive once we launch , price and shipping wise. Appreciate the feedback and info! Would love to be able to get everything from BP site, would make it convenient! FYI, allstar offers 17 flavors of nectar and 4 Nectar sweets, I buy the 2lb tub. Just have to look for Syntrax in the brands. Also, they don't charge the flat rate shipping if you buy two. Maybe you can offer the same type deal or if you spend XXX number, shipping is free?? -

checking out a meet & greet
wantingabetterlife replied to gowalking's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I would love to attend a meet and greet! I thought for sure there would be a lot of support groups, etc. here but there are not. It all comes down to location and scheduling for most though. Great idea! -
Using Syntrax Nectar question

I use the Lemon Iced Tea. I mix a whole scoop (in the big tub) with a 16oz bottle of Water. It's more water than recommended but I don't like mine too sweet. It's really up to you and how strong you like your drink! Start out with adding a smaller portion of water and if it's too thick, add some more water. -
Yes, you can have an OCCASIONAL treat. I have had a couple of bites of my favorite, Key Lime Pie. I don't have it every day or every week for that matter. It is all in perspective. The sleeve is a tool to help you get control of your eating. Therapy and a good nutritionist are also good tools to have, especially if you have an emotional tie to food. The months after getting sleeved are for you to learn the right way for you to eat and the foods your body needs. You can do it and be successful this time. Don't doubt yourself! I gave away all of my clothes that are too big because I have all faith that I WILL NOT regain weight this time. I refuse to! Good luck to you!
