  1. I had my sleeve surgery aug 12th and went to the store to get my vitamins and calcium but just wanted to know do i really need iron pills or not

      I do not take Iron pills, but it was not on my list of post op supplements from my Dr.

      i have multi vit with 36gm of iron and my pcp dr ordered me some just hope i dont take in to much iron

      I am anemic so I have to include iron with my vitamins. definitely talk to your doctor for advice

  2. I'm finally on soft food's

  3. I had my surgery aug 12th.I'm still on this protein shake diet and see then dietiantion tomorrow.The shakes are starting to make me feel sick hope i dont have to drink them forever and i want some soft food's but still need to get my protein in.I tried scammbled eggs it didnt stay down

      I had my surgery August 18, 1 week ago today. Don't you have a meal plan? You should start eating yogourt, light soups with protein added, pureed fruits, lots of stuff. I have it all planned for me until week 5 where it gets more general.

      I hope your dietitian knows about bypass and she can help you come up with a real meal plan.

      I have had 2 weeks of protein before and 2 weeks of protein after tomorrow i go to the dietitian .I think i go on a soft food diet after that

  5. tomorrow i start my pre op diet.I have to have 3 protein shakes a day for 2 weeks.At the dr office they said that medicade asked for some info and now they havent gave us a yes that they will or not pay for my medicare did but medicade is holding everything up.Its frustrating but hopefully they will give us a yes soon surgery is aug 12th

      I am on a pre diet now my surgery is Friday. my pre diet was 3 protein shakes and a lean cuisine and a cup of vegetables. boy are you having to use your will power. good luck on everything

      I did 18 days Lisa and found it fine once I had got over day 4 and 5 and the worst headache ever. You CAN do it. I did eat a few sf popsicles a day though, just for something to chew. They were a lifesaver. Good Luck .. !!

      I just started today 3 protein shakes a day vitamins and 2 other foods like jello or pudding suger free

      shrinkingpeach when they did the upper gi i had a hernia but they aven't said anything about it so i guess it's ok

      mine was never discussed, had no idea I had one. He just did it while he was in there. apparently they are pretty common in people who are overweight

      I hope they fix while they are in there i see the dr on the 5th before the surgery day i think the 28th i start the 2 week pre surgery diet i think it's protein shake's

    Hello im going to have my surgery aug 12th and i have been seeing alot of post's about being dehydrated after surgery how do u know when ur dehydrated.What do u do to not get dehydrated
  10. I gained 1/2 this week and now that surgery is in aug they want me to focus more on my protein intake

  11. My surgery date is aug 12th can't wait the only diet i might have trouble with is the pureed food's

      i was VERY lucky. my doc told me i could skip puree's - but many people have no problems dealing with it!!! i understand you're not thrilled - but you must do what you are told!! glood luck kathy
