For me, this happens when I am over hungry, or ate too fast. I have to be very mindful of what I am eating, or those old bad habits creep back in.
Here's what I TRY to do, if I want the pie/ice cream, whatever, I tell myself to eat my Protein first. For instance my one egg and small piece of breakfast meat. Then, I allow myself to have one spoon of the treat if I still want it. No one is perfect, and I think most of us occasionally struggle with old behaviors. Once I throw up something, I have Protein Shake for the next two meals in case I've irritated something. Take care.

Congrats on your huge weight loss success. Well done!
My knee jerk reaction to "life with your husband", is that it's time to kick him to the curb and move on with your life. But I also know, that is easier said than done.
From your picture, you look pretty young. What do you see in your life ahead with your husband? Is that a place you'd like to be in 5-10-15-20 years from now? With all of the tumult, is your love for him greater than having the life you deserve? Maybe right now you can't afford to leave, but staying with a long term human drain, can you really afford to stay? I agree with shellyd88 above, to take control of other aspects of your life; maybe go back to school and learn a trade so you can ultimately support yourself. It's amazing how a window opens; opportunities seem to appear when we remove ourselves from toxic environments. You've already proved your strength by having WLS and dropping 135 lbs. That is AWESOME! What I wish for you, is that step is the first toward strengthening yourself to go after that which is your right to have. Believe me, what you're in doesn't need to be that way. You cannot change your husband.....no mater how much you care for him. But you can change your situation, and claim a better life.
I wish you all the best......

funky_monkey800 reacted to B-52 in A day with the band..
Today is going to be a day that happens occasionally living with the band...I already can predict how it will be.
First, it's 5 am, having my coffee, playing on my laptop.
I will head to the gym and run my 5 miles when they open today at 6.
Then I will have my high Protein smoothie.
My wife and i will then drive to the train station and head into the city to see a Broadway play this afternoon...after which, we may or may not have dinner...I DID NOT make any reservations, so we will probably just head back to Penn station, then head back home.
By the time we are back in our car, and have time to stop somewhere to eat, it will be about 8pm....my poor wife has to eat, so we will stop somewhere.
But I have a rule about eating a meal after a certain hour, to prevent reflux and other things that can happen during the night. So I will have coffee, and maybe a snack.< /p>
My point is, this is going to be one of those days that I will not eat...at all....it happens. And it does not bother me one bit because with the band things like hunger and cravings do not exist....when it comes to food or eating, I can take it or leave it. It simply does not interest me all the much.
And when I am pre-ocupied, doing something else, like I know today I will be all day today....., I will go without eating and not miss it one bit...not even think about it....until that is my poor wife reminds me.
It does not happen often, but it does happen...
That's just the way it is with me since being banded...all hunger/cravings gone. I have to tell myself it's time to eat something rather than the other way around.

I also can not eat until mid afternoon...i have read that alot of other people do as well. I was banded 11/2014 and it has been a learning process! I can eat a turkey/chicken burger (just the patty) but not mashed spuds! Definitely have to eat slow, tiny bites. And i drink Water right up to the min i start to eat. Also Protein Bars are my go to. Have never had a episode after eating one. I know this may not be a ton of help, but you are not alone out there! I think we all just have to figure out what works best with our band.

I also didnt reach my calorie goals in the beginning...my doctor stressed the Protein shakes...i would force a bit down when i could because i could tell that even though i wasnt hungry or thirsty i was getting dehydrated. Your calories will come up as you add food. My doctor told ne thats when you have to be careful because some people tend to go for ice cream, and mashed spuds! My band was done mid october...and i am on "real" food..no fill yet, hopefully soon because as i progressed to the foods i became super hungry. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

You really can't counter ignorance... people who tell you that have no clue what you are going through, or what others have gone through. Just smile, and ignore their comments. Arguing won't do any good, explaining why you need surgery won't do any good. Take their "advice" with a good nature, and then do what is BEST FOR YOU. In the end, you have to answer to yourself, and no one else. They may mean well, but trust that you know what is best, and don't bother engaging in useless debates. This is one reason I kept my surgery private!

We're all on our own, aren't we? No one can do it for us -- we have to take care of our bodies ourselves. Personally I try not to talk about my weight loss except for here on the forum as I don't think other people can really understand what it is to not be able to control eating or to be able to lose weight in any kind of a permanent way. That's why we elect weight loss surgery -- we need the assistance. Finally admitting this to myself was very powerful -- the choosing myself first and my healthy future was not a cop out -- it was a lifesaver and I am forever grateful. Pat yourself on the back for your great pre-surgery loss -- you're doing so well. It's a lifestyle change and you are showing up for your part. You are going to do beautifully!

funky_monkey800 got a reaction from Diane524 in 2 weeks with my band!
Congrats! Your date will be here before you know it! So for me the two week diet prior to surgery was tough...i felt like i wanted to have a big fat burger and fries because i knew it would be my last! Lol...i loved muscle milk..full of Protein and keeps you full...i bought a huge powder jug of Cookies and cream! Lol..so surgery was quick. The only pain i experienced was my left side. And i honestly felt good when i took my pain meds but it made me so tired. And i was always thirsty...when i woke up from surgery my throat felt like i had been screaming at a concert all night but it was bearable...and i felt super bloated....i had to ask my husband if my stomache always looked so puffy. It was like gas and cramps...all of which were not too bad because i was so excited. Wear comfy clothes! That seemed to help!

funky_monkey800 got a reaction from ashemademe in 2 weeks with my band!
So today is my 2 weeks....first off i would like to say the journey has been actually not too bad. I have only threw up a few times and that was as soon as i was discharged from the clinic...i was so darn thirsty...other than that been good. Have not had a fill yet. Does anyone experience hiccups? All the time? Seems like i drink Water and get hiccups with a sort of ache in my gut. And how is everyone's weight loss? In two weeks prior to surgery to now i have lost 25lbs. Though i am not quite sure where. My pants aren't as tight. And my weight seems to fluctuate a pound or two from day to day...normal water weight? Well i hope a few of you can chime in i would love to hear how others are doing at this 2 week post op time frame.
