October 2014 sleevers check in please!

If this is your first plateau 7 months out, consider yourself lucky. I just broke my second 7.5 months out and by "broke" I mean I finally got past the barrier by 2#s

So on average how much did she continue to lose after 6 months? I'm abut 1.75#s per week and I'm 3 months out.

Well that's a bummer. And then what happens?

October 2014 sleevers check in please!

So I've FINALLY hit 40#s down as of this morning and I'm between 15 and 16 weeks post surgery. I'm 50% to my goal weight which was an arbitrary number picked by me. Someone earlier posted about it being tougher to lose weight after 6 months. Has anyone else heard that?

@@Peekboo Do I think I look different? Not that much, but I look at myself multiple times a day. People I haven't seen since surgery said I look fantastic last week and one of my best friends says it's noticeable in my face. The hubs says he notices it a lot when he hugs me too so there must be a change that I'm not seeing.

It seems crazy to me that you've lost over 35lbs and no one's said anything! I have the same reaction because I'm over 30lbs down and it's kind of like... I've lost 30 POUNDS people!! Can't you tell?? hahaha

@@Peekboo I sometimes feel like I can see or feel a difference and then other times when I'm feeling less positive. Some people notice and others don't, or at least don't say anything.

HI everyone!!! Sorry for the tremendous radio silence on my end. For some reason notifications stopped coming into my email so I've been missing out. Just a quick update: 1) still have some food that bothers me, but mostly I'm ok and trying lots of new things 2) I drink ginger ale and Water like it's going out of style; doc said ok to the ginger ale as long as I do it slow and not iced cold 3) tmrw will be 11 weeks post op and I'm ~ 30#s down. 4) just sharing a before and after. The before was from a week or so pre surgery and the post is from today.

My nutritionist recommends anything nutritional, natural apple sauce, flax seed (super tiny) can be mixed into lots of stuff, and prunes
  12. I'm a little surprised that for those of you in the low 30 bmi range that your doctor would encourage it. My surgeon actually wants post surgical patients to be in the 25-28 range for life even though the "healthy" range is down to 18.5.

@@slareau I just had my 6 week check in with my doc (6 weeks on Monday) and he said it's normal to be anywhere from 500-800 cals a day and between 40-55g of Protein a day. He and my nutritionist both agree that protein from food is where its at and not to worry about shakes or drinks anymore. It's also unrealistic to give a goal of 60g a day when we're eating so few calories. Breakfast - fage plain greek yogurt; 1oz of flaxseed and a tsp of honey lunch - 4oz of salmon and some sauteed spinach dinner - homemade meatball, sashimi, salmon, tilapia, sweet potato mash snack - string cheese but my doc recommended a slide of roast beef or turkey or any deli meat instead Nutritionist recommended snacking on Peanut Butter, a 1/4 green apple or cucumber to help with acid.

I'm encouraged to eat green apples to help with the acid

@ I'm in the FB group and it's a lot of the same on here. I'm not worried about the FB group being hacked b/c frankly if anyone wanted to find out anything, it's all open and so is the forum here. And my hospital support group is on FB too, also a private group, so I figured in for a penny in for a pound.
