I wanna know about carbs... Seriously!

I'm almost three years out and I eat between 90 to 150 grams of carbs a day, usually hovering around 100/110. That said it is mostly from fruit, veg, yogurt. I also eat some sort of whole grain English muffin every morning and I eat black beans fairly often and eat brown not white rice, sweet potatoes, etc.

    From start to finish

Eleven months, but that was because I wanted to have surgery during the summer. Otherwise it would have been about nine months

    Worst Experience so far?

My worst experience was having a headache with nausea and vomiting the morning after surgery. I spent an extra day in the hospital. Thinking headache was from caffeine withdrawal.
  5. The only time I had a what did I do moment was right after surgery, when I was in pain and nauseated. Once I passed that moment I haven't looked back

    Dental Health after Sleeve Surgery

If anything being sleeved gave me the incentive to take care of my health in other areas including oral health. I saw the dentist for the first time in twenty years after I got sleeved ,for reg dental care, that is. I have had a couple of teeth pulled in the past. My teeth by the way other than a lost filling were n. Pretty good shape. So having the sleeve definitely didn't affect them.

Do you still identify as a wls patient?

I'll be three years out in July and I still think of myself as a weight loss surgery patient. I probably always will. I count calories still and weight myself daily as well as take all the necessary supplements. The excitement is long gone however,so now it's just a routine.

Going to the emergency room finally

I had Lovenox injections for ten days ,too. It depends on who your surgeon is.

Post op fatigue after 2 months

Are you on any blood pressure meds. I had a similar issue about one month after surgery and it was because o was on blood pressure meds still and my blood pressure was too low. Once I stopped the meds my blood pressure went up and I was less fatigued.

    Hey Short Ladies!

I'm almost five two and have been able to find pants that are short enough at Wal-Mart. I also hem my own pants and dresses if needed.
  14. I'm five feet two I started at 272 and am now 172-175. While I'm still largish. Size 16 Bmi is 31. I am satisfied with weight lost and have maintained it for almost two years. Surgery will be three years in July.
  15. I have lost ninety five pounds, thirty before surgery and sixty five afterwards. While that is not as much as some and I still want to lose twenty more I am happy. I have gone from a size 28 down to a size 16/18. I feel healthier and happier, I was pre diabetic and I had high blood pressure. I have neither of those issues today. I can also get on the floor and get back up. I can walk a mile and more and I feel pretty. A good accomplishment for a year.

    Weight gaining after sleeve?

I'm almost three years out, down a hundred pounds and wrestle with the same three or four pounds, other than that I haven't gained weight back. I can eat regular food, but I have to count calories and Stick with the Protein and carb requirements, make sure I drink enough, exercise and still take Vitamins. How much food?..

I use my fitness pal to track what I eat. They have a recipe section, that you can use to input the food that you make/ by servings. It will then break down the calories and other important facts for you Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  22. I'm a two plus year vet. I still have problems with really dense meat, like pork chops. I have to chew really well. I can drink Water fairly normally. Still not with meals and still occasionally drink Protein shakes, when I don't get enough protein any other way. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  24. I don't think I've really been treated differently, although most people have definitely noticed my hundred pound weight loss. I got a lot of compliments while losing, although that has died off now. The librarian where I work however was clueless about my weight loss. When I mentioned that I had lost weight and my face was thinner. He said he never noticed that I was heavy. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
