I was told and read that with the bypass you will loose the most weight in the shortest amount of time, then the sleeve, then the the band. I just completed having the revision on the 24th. I elected the sleeve because I did not want the bypass because I did not want anything reroute. I am down 12 pounds and I am satisfied with the surgery and weight lose so far. I only had 1 week of the pre op diet.

Yes you should be able to go out. I had my surgery on the 24th of November just before Thanksgiving and I did just fine. Just remember why youre having the surgery and food will not be a problem.

I was sleeved on the 24th. I had a revision with some small complications that surgeon encountered. Being the great surgeon that he is he was able to get everything accomplished. I went into surgery at 9 am and did come out until 3 pm and out of recovery at 5 pm. I was in more pain that I could have ever imagine. I felt like a truck had hit me. I came home on Wednesday the day before Thanksgiving. The only waking that I have been doing is getting around my apartment. I am still on pain meds. I have been concentrating on getting my fluids and protein in. I have been feeling blah, weak and in pain. I am down about 10 pounds, taste buds are horrible in hopes they improve and i am not experiencing hunger headaches. I think i will listen to my body and take a few more days off from work.

It is 445 am I have not been able to sleep. I watched tv most of the night. I am a little anxious. I guess I will shower and change, pack a small bag. I am not that far from the hospital, my friend will pick me up at 645 and I have to be at the hospital 7 am and surgery at 830. So everyone be safe, llets say a prayer for each other and I will talk to every after my surgery.

Hi, I am originally from Detroit. I am working in Texas for the Department of Defense. Maybe Sunday as I am preparing to go I will get nervous. I have a lap band now and I am going in for a revision to sa sleeve. I found out Monday that I would be having my surgery on the 24th. He did not even give me the two weeks for my pre op diet. I just hope everything goes ok because I did not do the pre op diet for 2 weeks. Also, he told me that he will not know if he will be able to give me the sleeve untill after he look at my stomach, because of scar tissue from the lap band. I have to think positive that everything will be ok because I really do not want to go under the knife twice to have one procedure. You will be ok. How long will you b in the hospital?

Sure...where are you having your surgery? My is set for 8 am Monday.

i am excited about my surgery. I had the lapband for about four year and that did not work out very well. In order for me to have the revision that has been a journey in itself. When I went to the doctor 1/17/14 i was not expecting him to tell me that i could have the surgery on Monday, November 24, 2014. Now I am trying to get everything in place before Monday and take of things at work also, since I will be off for a week. Skinny here I come.

I do think you have rubbed them the wrong way they appear to b over worked at the clinic I go to.

I am a former patient of his. I cancel ed my surgery at the last moment. YES Jason the. patient advocate has no business working with people, his personality is horrible. Yes they do treat you like cattle because weight loss is a money making business.

I have recently found a new surgeon in my area by the name of Joe jeanette at metroplex hpspital. He is will to accept all of my test that I have completed. It is much easer for me to get to metroplex in killeen than to San antionio. I am still trying to have the surgery before xmas. So everyone I. The killeen area we have a surgeon that wa can go to without going some place else.
