bdcsail got a reaction from weightlosshappiness in Goal and plastic
I recently did my plastics consult I am 6 months post sleeve and it was very helpful in setting a realistic goal. I thought that I should lose another 20 to be at my goal weight but she said that anymore than 10 and it wouldn't look as healthy. I looked at doing a Tummy Tuck and breast lift in Mexico, Miami, Cuba, but decided to do a consult back at home in Toronto and decided to do it there mainly for the follow up care. So I would suggest doing at least one consult you might be pleasantly surprised.

Another option to think about is going to Toronto Canada. I had a Tummy Tuck, breast lift, and Gummy bear implants for under 15000 cdn, $11000 us with the low Canadian dollar right now might be a good option. That included a year of follow up, but doesn't include hotel. As for recovery to avoid complications don't plan on moving on around very much for 2 weeks minimum. I am so happy with my results.

It depends if the surgeon does it that way. It takes longer because they do a somewhat of a quilting but less complications .

I used Dr Leila Kasrai. She was amazing and I am very pleased. She did the drain less Tummy Tuck. She is close to the subway but not downtown so not crazy parking fees either. You can have surgery in the reg hospital or at a private clinic as well right downtown in Yorkville.

No I have traveled before by myself. The 30 min before surgery maybe I wished I wasn't alone but after that all was good. You need to focus on you not the kids and with two very young children he won't be able to focus on you either. If you are scared to be alone ask a friend to join you.

I was having the same problem as you pre surgery. I ended up finding the Premier Protein shakes at costco that are pre- made. In the beginning before surgery I would just gulp it down all at once and fingers crossed hope to keep it down. As I got use to it I actually started to enjoy them. They have 30'grams of Protein and 1 gram of sugar.

Many times that I was stuck in a stall I would up my calorie intake and would start to lose again. Sounds odd but works.

Well it's hard to believe it's been a year since I had my gastric sleeve in Tijuana Mexico. The year has been very successful I am 5'9 and met my goal weight of 153. My HW was 250. When I decided on this journey I was 240. SW was 229. Dr Garcia did the surgery. Against what is suggested I went on to have a Tummy Tuck and breast lift in April 7 months post sleeve at 163. I only told 3 people about my sleeve (husband, friend, and cousin who had gastric bypass after me) otherwise I kept my surgery secret. I don't regret that decision of not telling others. I currently eat pretty normal now but still high in Protein. I have incorporated Pasta and rice back into my diet but now in restricted portions. I actually had my plastic surgeon tell me to eat more as I was losing the what she felt was not healthy. Too funny eh. My only regret I would say now would have been to do a single incision gastric sleeve. Now that I have a nice flat tummy 2 of the incisions are noticeable but I am able to wear a higher rise bikini bottom it will cover the two that are most noticeable but incase someone is just researching it's something to think about. I do notice that it has been a full lifestyle change that I have embraced. I still weigh myself pretty regularly at least twice a week don't always think that's healthy but I worry about of course gaining. Premier Protein shakes have been my lifesaver along with a great family doc and plastic surgeon. Have enjoyed and benefited from this forum in many ways, was a great resource to have along the way. Anyways thanks for the support over the last year and wish you all good luck on your WLS journeys.

I had the uterine ablation 5 years ago and haven't had a period yet. I had it at my top weight of 250 lbs what weight goal do you have to reach. Having 2 c-sections she said there was some risk but back up plan was a hysterectomy. I hope you are able to get it, it changed my life as much as the sleeve did. Can't even tell when I am ovulating now.

Personally I find that that when I up my calorie intake I start to lose weight more quickly. Even now at 9 months and at my goal weight, with the doctor telling me to stop losing weight. With eating normally I am losing. I would up your calorie intake as it seems very low now. Even in full liquids I was taking in 500-600 calories. Good luck

I am 9 months post op. I can eat anything but periodically eat something that just doesn't agree with me. It is a life style change and you won't be able to eat a whole pizza again or very large amounts. Was the best decision I ever made.
