    Post Op Calorie Count

I would reduce your calories to between 600-800, cut out most of your carbs, and begin a regular exercise routine. You need to eat mainly protein and lift weights to improve your metabolism. I'm sorry to hear you don't have much restriction but you have to take what you've got, so focus on protein and veggies and working out while you are still motivated to do this!! Don't worry about what my fitness pal says, it's for regular people and doesn't apply to you. If you want to eat 1000 calories a day that's fine as long as you offset that with 30-60 minutes of cardio. I would get a regular weekly visit with your nut set up immediately and perhaps a personal trainer for awhile. I'd hate to see you miss out on your goals and your clearly struggling.

    Post Op Calorie Count

I wouldn't worry so much about starvation mode as long as you exercise and lift weights. That will keep your metabolism going. Starvation mode is a bunch of bull. At worst you will hit a stall. Get your Protein, workout, eat enough to have some energy and watch the fat melt away. Trust me on this I would worry about too many calories way before worry about too few! If your losing weight slow, cut the calories and start working out. It's simple. There is NO WAY to few calories will prevent you from losing weight. Also if you losing slow, cut the carbs.
  7. Hang in there ladies. The pain can be rough, I really needed the pain meds until day 11 or so, especially in the middle of the night. I think we all agree the Protein shake phase sucks. Honestly, my nut said not to worry at all about getting all 70 grams at this stage. She said focus on Water and Fluid above all else. I have been drinking about 12 oz of protein sake or less a day, and having strained mini stroni and chili, activia YUM sugar free fat free yogurt, crystal light, tomato Soup and not much else. I'm not worried about food until phase two. A few times I have had to chew some food and spit it out. You would be amazed how much this helped me. The sensation of chewing and the taste of regular food is a huge relief. I know it's gross but it helped me and now the desire to do even that is passing. I don't think much about food. I'm guessing it's like going through withdrawals in a way- it takes some time but our bodies and mind adjust and we start to adapt. Just relax and heal. Drink your water. Your body has plenty of fat to burn but without water your in danger. Keep that pee light yellow!
  8. Best wishes to you mile!

    Tattoo

I had a lower back tattoo of mermaids when I was 21 and 140 lbs. now I have fat mermaids! Hahaha. Soon to be skinny mermaids again hopefully not too screwed up. Yes wait!!!

    Tattoo

I would be very very careful where you choose to put it. Remember you skin is going to change dramatically and it could totally mess up your tattoo. Choose a place with little or no fat like a wrist or ankle!!

    Post-Op Fatigue

I still feel so tired, it stinks. I want my energy!! I feel like my body weighs so much and I'm winded after a short walk. I do hope the fatigue goes away soon! But I'm only about 10 days post op.
  16. Well, when I have lost weight in the past I remember a trainer telling me when you hit a stall, change your routine. It shocks your body into losing again. So you could try, if you feel well enough, adding in or upping your workouts now. Weight training etc. something different. Also, look at it this way. It probably means your body is gearing up for a big loss. Just relax don't stress, keep eating etc. you'll probably see a good drop all of a sudden.
  17. Are you making sure your not taking in too many liquid calories? You have been in the liquid stage for a long time. If not, I wouldn't worry about it at all. In fact, I would not keep weighing in everyday. Stressing about it can make you hold on to the weight! Just focus on your recovery and eating the right things and don't worry about your scale. Weigh in once a week. You will lose. It's not possible to eat do little and not lose weight.

    Periods

I would think hormones go through radical changes during extreme weight loss. I would wait to do anything drastic like ablation surgery until you have given your body some time to regulate itself. For instance after pregnancy, periods take some time to become normal again due to hormonal fluctuation. Our bodies just went through major surgery and ablation is also quite an intense surgery. It takes time. Your body may have never even been thin before. It has to adjust. Rest and drink water, focus on healing.

It's been 4 days post op

Mine was worst the first night, pretty bad the day after surgery, and about gone by the second day. Hang in there. Try and burp as much as you can. It helped me to lay in my left side and just try and burp it out.
  20. Also I am 34, in good health, BMI 38, with moderate back pain as a Comorbid.

    Couple of Questions...

All the liquids you drink contributes to your 64oz... Maybe tea or coffee? I like peppermint tea.

    Periods

I don't know from experience but I do know that once I gained weight my periods became more painful. Weight affects your hormones a lot, as does it affect your core strength. When I was thinner I used to workout and stretch during my periods to help them hurt less. Once I gained weight I became inactive and never wanted to workout much less on my period. I bet your periods will change for the better.

How much time off from work?

Although with the band I have heard its a much much less intensive recovery and I am sure that is true.

How much time off from work?

My incisions. Sorry I have 5 of them. My leg from the heparin shots. You come out pretty worn and torn. I'm not saying the surgery is horrendous and unthinkable. I'm just saying be realistic about what your getting in too. Take a week at the minimum. So you don't use it? Fine. Take the week to get your head around all the changes in your routine and life. Also a lot of people on here say they only spent one night in hospital with gastric bypass. My best friend and I both had the surgery. She spent four days and I spent three. I just have to wonder with all the advertising I see for Mexican doctors on here how many members of this community are actually marketing positive experiences for this business. The surgery is fine but it's surgery!

How much time off from work?

Basically, I think what people need to realize is yes, there is a chance you may pop right up and be okay and go to the mall Christmas shopping the best day. Ha. Maybe a few people. But think about it. I have seven incisions an inch long in my abdomen. One was in my diaphragm ouch. And have you ever done a low calorie diet or juice fast? This is more akin to a Water fast. No food. Basically a few ounces of food. Getting used to that is enough to want to be at home. Put those two together, with driving restrictions if your in pain mess, and sheer exhaustion from having major surgery. Definitely take a week, two if you can swing in. I'm on day 8 and just have enough energy to put around the house.
