  1. Im 5 years in Oct and when i had the endoscopy before surgery i had a slight hiatal hernia.ive always suffered from heartburn on and off but everything was ok.until 3 months ago when i had my 3rd endoscopy and was told i had an ulcer(my biggest fear with this surgery) and my hernia is alot worse.so i was put on carafate for 3 months and had my hiatal hernia repaired 5 days.another endoscopy was done right before surgery and showed ulcer healed but i had a massive amount of scar tissue from acids in my stomach.also my stomach is still very irritated and i just got back from check up today and i have to be on pureed foods for 4 more weeks and still on protonix for 2 months more(ive been on protonix since my sleeve,5yrs!)also have to get another endoscopy in 6 weeks!omgg, this acid needs to stop already!anyone else been down this road???

  2. This question may sound a bit weird but, it's more targeted towards people who have had sleeve for around 5+ years now: Do you guys feel like you have a "physically" normal life, day, feeling? I mean a day like it was before you had the sleeve. My main concern is that I will feel like I will need to remind myself that I have the sleeve every single day for the rest of my life. Not that I want to forget about it, or it's precautions/healthy habits, but just that I feel normal and fine, but just eat less than I used to. Does anyone feel like their normal self like they did before surgery? Or is everyday another little issue that goes on with GERD, Dumping, vomiting etc.

    Any answers would help.

  3. I was sleeved on Sept 10, 2015 ...well at least that's what I was told. I have the scars and even felt some discomfort in my stomach lacerations. 2 night hospital stay and all.

Here's why I'm questioning if surgery was done.

I had little to no pain after surgery. It felt more like discomfort. Lots of gas. I was able to walk and continue to walk every two hours while in the hospital no problem. Since my surgery I have not experienced ANY of the issues I have read about. I have been able to get 64 ounces of fluids in daily since my surgery. Protein shakes..no problem. Today I introduced meats. I was able to eat 3 ounces chewing 30 to 40 times of course during the course of 30 minutes. I was able to get in 3 ounces of sugar free pudding while still getting in my Water with absolutely no feeling of fullness or discomfort. Now. I do not plan to push it and do more than 2 servings of meat and 2 servings of shakes a day but I will slowly increase as time goes on.

So has anyone else experience symptom free after being sleeved or should I call my doctor and ask for proof she performed surgery???

believe me I also had a very easy recovery too!i had one incision thru my belly button.surgery on Monday up and out driving by Friday.hitting crs all weekend too!i had no problems getting liquids, soft foods or Water down.it was portions that I couldn't do.couple teaspoons here and there.you will suceed.consider us very thankful that we had no complications!!

  4. Atkins diet is pretty much what you are supposed to do with the sleeve.protien and very low carbs.and of course lots of water.in the past I always had success doing atkins and I always gained everything back when I went to high carbs, with this surgery you have to eat your Protein first then if there is room {which most likely be}thenn add some carbs.i do it with veggies.
