    Too excited too soon?

Thanks! Good luck to you too and congrats! I'm so ready for the new me! I was going through old clothes yesterday and have designated one side of one of my closets to clothes I want to get into again (or for the first time). It's really motivating to open the closet and see that!

@bonbyswife I'm kind if proud of myself for exercising restraint? Before my son it would have been MUCH different!

It will be at GWU hospital. I haven't gotten a date yet but I'm praying for mid January. Have you had yours yet?

    CVS Pharmacy Vent

I had to try very hard not to go off! And I did say to her, as she was being rude, that my bottom number isn't usually that high. She kind of got pissed and slammed the bag and coupon down in the table. I just took my stuff and got my son and got out of there as fast as I could to avoid going to jail for assault! Lol

    Pre-op diet

I'm praying I get a date in January. My last appointment is Dec 4th. And by the 12th my stuff should be sent out for insurance approval. I was told it takes 2 weeks max to get a decision and I'm gonna be bugging the insurance company after about 3 days lol

    My last appointment

I asked the patient navigator (that's what they call the case manager at my surgeon's office) for her unofficial advice on how long it takes for the approval to come back. She has to tell me 6 weeks officially but she was nice enough to tell me that she's never seen it take more than two unless there was missing information. Good luck on getting it done before the year ends! Bug the insurance company if you have to. Be diligent and save yourself some money!!!
  8. @@Rogofulm Thanks for posting the link to that article. I read a lot about the stalls but never really understood why it happens or what to do about it. The article is very helpful.

    Pre-op diet

@@Elode, they didn't say I needed to either which I thought was strange. I did lose a pound at my last visit. Maybe I will have lost another when I go back on the 4th....but then again I'll be out of town all next week eating and drinking smh #fingerscrossed

I always wear the same type of clothing when I go. And I try to make all my appointments in the morning so that I can go on an empty stomach LOL!! I have been doing it this way since I started Weight Watchers when I was in 10th grade. (16 years go). Congrats on your loss!! #AWESOME

    Dating post-op...

How has you dating life changed since surgery? I'm single (pretty much always have been) and I'm not loving it! Part of the reason is my own insecurity mostly about my weight. Did you have that problem? Has dating changed for you since being sleeved? How?

Hungry or All in my mind

It was recommended that I try the liquid pre-op diet before I was actually on it. I think my NUT was right on the money with that suggestion. I've messed up big time but I've also seen that I could do it without major issues. Most of this seems to me to be mental......

    THE PROCESS

Yup. Same thing. Mine is $350. Smh. I will figure something out. My mom might pay it. She's surprisingly EXTREMELY supportive! But she did always say that there would come a time where I'd be sick and tired of being sick and tired and she would support whatever I choose to do to fix it (mainly so she could buy me clothes....I'm okay with that!!) lol

    Sleeping positions :)

This so sounds more like a pregnancy post than a WLS post ???????? I guess it's good to know that it should but another body pillow to sleep in my side though ????

    THE PROCESS

I started this process in early October and I will be done with all my requirements on 5 Dec. I'm PRAYING for a surgery date in January! My case worker says my insurance is good for approvals in 2 weeks max but legally they have to say 6. I'll have a 4 week liquid diet prior to surgery. The biggest issue for me will be the $350 I have to pay out of pocket. Though it's not a huge amount, I'm unemployed so it may as well be $3,000 lol.

    Oh my aching damn foot

Goodness!! Take it easy! (steroids are the devil!!)

    elgible = Approved?

The insurance company isn't going to approve you until you have gone through the process required for approval. Eligible means your insurance covers it and you meet the basic criteria.

    Dating post-op...

    Awww????thank you????
  21. I always said I wanted to get back into my HS prom dress (size 16: it was beautiful and perfect for my church's anniversary banquet) but I think my mom gave it away But I'm gonna try to find one when I get my surgery date and be in it by April (I pray)
  22. I've had people try to talk me out of it. I've only told a few family members and close friends that I'm doing it. When I suggest they do the research and then tell me why they feel I shouldn't have it they usually have nothing more to say. Also I make it very clear to them that they have NO IDEA what it's like to be overweight most of your life. That usually shits them up too. But this is with my loved ones. In my opinion, you gave her too much communication about it lol! After the first time you said no that should have been it. When she messaged you again she should have been blocked! Lol!!! That's just me ????

    Confession re: Loving Myself

What's funny to me is that I haven't been sleeved yet but because I made the choice to go through with it and I am actually taking the steps to get it done, I feel like I'm putting more of a spotlight on myself. I rarely finish anything I start (except food ????????) but I've decided I'm worth more than that. So I totally understand what you are saying. It makes perfect sense. Lack of love for self is what got a lot of us to this point. Self love will get you to goal! God bless!!
  24. I'm almost done all if my requirements to get my insurance approval and a date. I'm hoping for January. This forum has shown me a lot. You get to see this journey from all sides. The good the bad abs the ugly. I think....I know you will absolutely find it useful. It will provoke questions for you to ask your surgical team as well. God bless you on your journey!!

    Protein Supplements

Collagen is not the first ingredient, water is. But the second ingredient is "Complete protein matrix" which includes collagen protein isolate as part of it's blend of proteins.
