    November Surgery Date

Ldimples... I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Stay strong. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I have several friends who beat breast cancer and are stronger today than ever. I know that will be you too!

Night time was always the time that I ate the most. I am still feeling the desire to eat at night, but I wouldn't necessarily say it was a physical hunger. I always have had a difficult time differentiating between the two.

    No Flavor Protein Powder

You can find genpro on amazon.com. You only need a small amount and it tasteless. Not all unflavored Protein powders are.

    actigall

My doctor put me on actigall post-surgery because I had a gallstone and sludge in my gall bladder. I was told to open the capsule and pour it into a little applesauce and take it that way. To tell the truth I am really concerned that the medication is not going to work for me, and I will have to end up having my gall bladder taken out. I really do not want to go through another surgery.

carriekos... I can totally relate. The scale hasn't moved for me in 2 weeks. It is so frustrating and very discouraging. I can't believe I am eating so little and haven't lost weight. I am holding out hope for this week.

Sometimes I have to stop myself from eating and sometimes my pouch let's me know it is time to stop. On a few occasions I ate such a small amount and had a lot of discomfort afterwards and other times it seems like I can't eat a larger amount and have no problems. It sounds like some other people are experiencing this too. I will be 4 weeks out on Monday and I have been having terrible constipation for the last 2 weeks. I have been taking miralax, but it hasn't helped. I guess my body is still adjusting to all the changes going on. Is anyone else having this problem? I did not have it in the beginning, but I sure do now!

I am 3 weeks out. My surgery was November 10th. I am wondering what other people are eating who are at the same stage as me.

I went for my post-op visit today and everything looks good. My doctor said I can start pureed foods on Monday. I am not sure what to eat or how to get creative during this stage. Any suggestions or recipes would be more then welcome! Thanks!

So glad to be home from my surgery. I am feeling a little better every day, and the liquids are going down easier with each day. I am so glad this part of my journey is over, and now I can move on to the good part. I am glad to hear that everyone else who has had their surgery is doing well.

My surgery is November 10th. I am on Day 7 of my 2 week liquid diet and I am still VERY hungry. How is everyone else doing on their liquid diets?

    First day of liquid diet

I am on day 2 of 2 weeks of liquid only diet. Day 1 wasn't so bad, but today has been horrible. I have an awful headache and the shakes. I am feeling very emotional too. I am hoping this gets better soon. How soon did everyone else start to feel better?

Reasons surgeon says sleeve or bypass

My surgery is November 10th. I chose gastric bypass because I have type 2 diabetes and after researching it and talking to my doctor, I found out that there is a much better success rate at reversing type 2 diabetes with the gastric bypass vs. the sleeve. The majority of the people in my support group are post-op sleevers and have done very well with with it. I suggest consulting with your surgeon and doing some research online about the sleeve vs. bypass. There is plenty of information out there. Good luck and let us know what you decide!

To add someone as a friend... click on the person's username in their post... this will bring up their profile... at the bottom of the page it will say "ADD ME AS A FRIEND"... all you need to do is click on that... I hope this helps... I have already added several of you as friends... I think the person you are adding as a friend has to approve your friend request... so if you want to, please feel free to approve me as your friend!

November 10th for me. I am also both excited and nervous at the same time. I am also having a hiatal hernia repair and my gall bladder removed so I will be having a three part surgery. I would love to connect and provide support to other November surgeries!
