  2. 14 months after surgery......I am down 105 pounds. Below my goal of 160 by 15 pounds! So amazingly happy with my results!! The first 6 months were total hell, but I made it!

Well done! Yeah, I agree the first 6 months are hell but after that it gets much better. I am so grateful for my RNY surgery as well.

  3. I am really mourning my clothes. I have a lot of nice clothes, some European designers and a pretty extensive shoe/boot collection. I just tried on my boots and realized, they are all too large in calf already :(

My shoe size went from 9 1/2 W to 8 1/2. I feel your pain, all my shoes are boats. I actually nearly killed myself tripping with a pair of shoes that literally feel off my feet. But then, now we have good excuse to shoe shop.

The puke part is just a steep learning curve, you get over it. The human body is very good at learning ways not to get sick

It's going to be awesome, you just wait and see. It won't be that first week but 6 months down the road you will be a new person.

I power clean the house. Music blasting, full speed ahead. I sweat and have a sparkling home after. My idea of success!

  8. 7 months out, and I'm 1 pound from my main goal of 160!

  9. Cannot believe that 6 months out, I am 11 pounds from my goal! 78 pounds gone!

  10. What is everyone packing for the hospital? I just plan to show up!

    1. Beni

      Beni

Remember all you can wear is the hospital gown because of the IV and it's short sleeve and lightweight cotton material.

Less is more. I had too much stuff. You sleep all the time with the meds anyway. My fave thing was a cozy blanket because I was cold and i could wrap it around my shoulders. The hospital blankets are stiff cotton

Tiny sips all day long. I used to say sipping was my full time job. once you are allowed a bite of a saltine helps

  13. How realistic is it to want to be in the infamous onderland by my birthday....19 April??

    1. Beni

      Beni

2 to 4 lbs per week is expected. 3 lbs X 7 weeks=21lbs. Of course, that's an average. This is a marathon not a sprint but you will get there.

  14. How realistic is it to want to be in the infamous onderland by my birthday....19 April??

    1. Beni

      Beni

You can lose safely, and that's the expected rate, 2 to 4 pounds per week. 3 lbs would be the median. Multiply by the number of weeks. (7 weeks X 3 lbs per week = 21 pounds) You don't want to lose too fast, your skin will suffer and the hair loss will be worst. This is a marathon not a sprint. The good news is, yes, you will get there.

  16. Thank You Everyone on Before after photos

      Beni

Now that the BPal site has a section on before and after photos readily accessible, I would like to urge everyone to UPDATE their photos. It is the most inspiring way of giving back to the WLS community. It gives so much HOPE to those considering WLS.

  18. Got my date. I thoguht i would be happy and excited, but I'm sad, bummed, blue... did this happen to anyone else? I thought id have surgery in March, seems how i was done with all my requirements in January... Nope, April 21st

    1. Beni

      Beni

Don't lose yourself on the details. So you climb Mt Everest in April instead of March. In the big picture does it matter?

    1. Beni

      Beni

You can eat something else. What about tuna with low fat maio? I lived on that for a while. Hummus is also a great option
