I'm impressed, @Aribay ... I doubted you'd actually track. But you did!
Respect!
I honestly don't know how people can guess about this stuff and succeed long-term.
Guessing is what got us in this mess in the first place.

Well the first thing I would say is it sounds like your eating too many carbs with food like bread (sandwich), popcorn, nuts, ect... Those things are fine once in awhile but not for everyday eating. Do you track your food? I keep my carbs around 40g per day. Some people think that is too low, but it's been working for me. Also, you may be eating a bit too much. At 10 months my NUT said you should be around 800 calories per day. I would track and measure your food. With regards to your Protein shake question, there is no need to drink 3 per day, just drink one. Remember most of those shakes are Meal Replacement shakes so the calories will add up fast; they are not Snacks. You also might want to keep an eye on your snacking, I know if I don't, I can fit in way more food by grazing/ snacking. Most of those snacking calories are just useless, extra calories. Please let us know how you do. How far are you from goal?
Also you need way more water! You should be drinking a minimum of 64oz of Water and more on the days you exercise.

Lots of great ideas and suggestions, my fitness pal is awesome, might also look at Protein Bars for your mid morning Snacks, I was sleeved 2/2 and am often full at 1/2 a bar. Best of luck, you can do it!

Ugh im so frustrated and getting upset
What am i doing wrong?
Actually i probably know what.
Okay here we go
Im 10 months post op at the end of the month 1 week ago i was 194lbs. Today im 198lbs. I wasn't going to weight myself but i did at the gym scale and i think it was wrong so i weighed myself at my home scale which may be wrong too i dont know but its the one ive been using.
Anyway
I know it cant be my exercise. I workout 4 times a week. I take bodycombat (a mixed martial arts class) which is a high intense cardio class. And a core training class.
So im pretty set on exercise.
Can it be that i dont measure my food?
I honestly just pack my lunch (a "normal" portion) and i just listen to my stomach to when im full. And i snack in between probably too much
7am i eat half a sandwich (flax and whole wheat bread flats with turkey and cheese)
Around 9 i snack usually wheat thins with a triangle laughing cow cheese
12 i have lunch usually a salad.
3 i go home and its all down hill sometimes ill snack on smart pop or nuts or apples sometimes a peotein shake.
As im typing this i realized i dint do Protein shakes as much as i should?
Should i still be doing 2-3 shakes a day?
Any suggestions?
What do you eat thats been helpful?
My schedule is usually the same. I work 7-3 and i go to the gym between 5-7 and i try not to eat past 7.
I have atleast 40oz of Water a day.
HELP!!!!

Aribay1 reacted to Micdruss in Anyone join the army after sleeved?
I googled it and it doesn't look like you can. If you go to the army mobile website and type in Weight loss surgery there was a couple people that were denied.
You can always go to a recruiter and ask though

Depending on your size it can easily take your body 1 hour or more per drink to metabolize alcohol to the point where your blood alcohol level is below the legal limit. As a former police officer, every person I arrested for DUI swore they were fine and ALL of them were over the limit on the breath test.
Nothing can help you get alcohol out of your system but time. It doesn't matter if you eat something, drink coffee, or light your farts on fire.
There are many old wive's tales out there about how to sober up. None of them work.
Live and learn.

I'm 4.5 months out and haven't had problems with drinking--I can have wine, beer, hard liquor. (Haven't had soda with a drink yet but ended up in a situation where I drank un-liquored soda and all was fine...just REALLY burpy!) While I do feel it a bit more than I did before, it's not an earth-shattering difference. I definitely wouldn't drive after having one drink now, personally; but I'm also not falling over myself or anything.

I'm so glad you took the info like a mature adult. We all make mistakes and we all learn. Bravo for having courage to admit your mistake and for fronting up to it. Respect.

Amen! I felt like i was being attacked because obviously everyone is perfect but like you said everyones done it before and we all learn something new. Now i know one hour doesnt seem to be enough time to be sober.

Thanks, @ for that story.
I sure don't mean to represent that I've never driven "impaired." It's the rare person who gets through life without having done that.
But over time I've certainly learned much--and continue to learn--about how my body responds to every substance I put into it: food, alcohol, OTC meds, Rx meds, all of the above. Certainly our driving is also impaired by too little sleep, too much stress, people distractions, electronic distractions, etc.
It's hard being perfect. But it's not hard to learn and improve. After all, that's what we're all here doing, eh?

Aribay1 reacted to KristenVSG2014 in Drinking for the first time! Tips?
I served on a jury for DUI. A lot of people have the misconception "I'm not drunk. I'm mentally clear. I can drive." But what the attorney stressed was the charge is driving under the INFLUENCE, not drunk. That means if you are impaired at all, it's not safe to drive. All you need is to be under the influence of alcohol to be arrested for DUI.
I personally cannot drink in good conscience 3 hours after one drink because since surgery, alcohol goes straight to my small intestine and I get buzzed very very fast. I had a pint of wine last weekend and I felt the buzz for at least 3 hours while walking around so I had my husband drive home.
By the way, the jury unanimously decided the defendant was guilty. Thankfully he didn't hurt anyone.
