Don't cry over fast foods just Google all the crap that is in fast food and how it's really not food and you'll feel good!

I was not required to prove I could fail on another diet (oh wait they expect success) ....so I am sorry that you are stuck in this situation. I know others will disagree, but I find that many "starches" trigger cravings and over eating even 3 years post op. It works best for me to eliminate or severely restrict many of them. So I do eat veggies, Protein, berries, greek yogurt etc. On a daily basis I avoid rice, Pasta, bread and potatoes and I eat very little fruit (sugar!)..even 3 years out and below goal.... I never eat fast food, junky food like chips and Cookies. My advice, go back to stage 1.
Bread is my nemesis and now my kids have moved back home it surrounds me again. It is a delicious demon which i work very hard to minimize. Do not get me wrong we need some carbs for good health but we need way less than our typical diet includes. Some of us are more insulin resistant and prone to the carb crazy train too.

I know how you feel whe. I went to my cardiologist he "fat shamed" me. He made it seem like I had all these problems and I'm like no I don't have high blood pressure no I don't have shortness of breath and no I don't have ashma he was just assuming because I'm overweight but it'll get better trust me. Omg he also said wow the pressure on your legs are perfect for a person your size. Like f*** you! Lol don't worry it gets better trust me!

I need to post this because not many ppl can really understand the excitement of this! I actually wondered if it would ever happen for me or if I was meant to always weigh over 200. This week has been so good for me hitting goals. On Sunday, I went to Old Navy and was able to put on a size 12 (curvy fit but still) pair of skinny jeans. I couldn't even shop at Old Navy before. I was a size 24/26. My highest weight was 288. And now today I am 199 (barely but it counts!!) I am so thrilled and thankful that I did this!

First off thanks everyone for taking the time to answer and for the advice. I guess I'm stressing a lot on Protein because I became vegetarian 2 months ago and even with out the surgery it's been a rough couple weeks

I'm scheduled the 30th and I have a stress test this Friday and for some reason he wanted me to do blood work on my period (cardiologist) so blood work tomorrow. The 22 I find out from my last two doctors if I'm good to go or not so fingers crossed everyone!

Just remember to advocate for yourself. This road is anything but easy from approval to post op. You are far from alone in this journey. I hope you get the news you want, but in case you don't just remember a lot of people now post op were told no throughout their journey too.

Thanks everyone for taking the time t answer my post. Just an update if I didn't say this already my dad mom brother boyfriend 2 best friends and a coworker/friend kknow.i basically told my best friends listen this will make me happy I don't want to be sick and injecting myself for the rest of my life. And they are supporting me big time now whatever makes me happy. Recently my coworker jumped on board after realizing she wasn't my friend if she couldn't support me. I only really express my excitement to my boyfriend because he's my biggest supporter but I'm slowly getting comfortable talking about it with my friends.

Is anyone else out there keeping it from friends and possibly family?
So far only 4 people know my brother my parents and my boyfriend. I have two main friends that I work with and idk I guess I feel like they will judge me and say I'm taking the easy way out.
I'm still thinking of a life as to what surgery I'm having to get 2 weeks off from work. Luckily i don't need doctor notes. Should I bother telling my friends. The only reason I see me telling them is if they keep trying to shove food down my throat. Also they are both health freaks now and one friend has tried to help me loose weight but basically gave up.

Thank you so much I'm trying to remind myself that they are just making sure I'm okay for it. But it just sucks when a doctor is concerned for your health when it's like no shit that's why I want the sleeve to improve it!

You are putting the cart before the horse. It is not time to worry yet. The odds are on your side. I am sure everything will be fine. Try to concentrate on other things for now. Good luck!

I'm a year and 2months post surgery and the best advice I can give is communicate all fears up front and be understanding...I wish I had gotten that advice...I lost 80 lbs in the first 7 months and it really screwed with my head...I thought I was going to be showered with affection from my fiancé once the weight began to fall off and that didn't happen..as my self esteem got higher he seemed more distant and the only positive affection I was getting was from other people...and when you are having your ego inflated by other men....it's trouble ....I wish so much that he and I had been upfront about what we were feeling
