    Fruit problems?

It just amazes me how little about food I really know. It use to be at least try to eat 2 fruits a day and now it's oh fruit has too much sugar in it. Pre op I heard of fruit being to sugary but I always thought an apple a day keeps the doctor away not that apple might cause problems. Blows my mind!

    Weight loss taught me...

I had been lying an making excuses to myself (denial) for over 15 or so yrs..I had to get control BACK an I knew I needed professional help. carbs or sugar is all I craved bc they are feel good on what it does to the brain. this was way stronger for me to do on my own. I used food for every emotion under the sun! so I was always eating the bad stuff. I had to get to the bottom of WHY I was craving foods. it was a visious cycle. thats where I turned for help. I was at least 10 yrs I also finally found a endo who ran the appropriate BW that I wanted done an finally found out I was insulin resistant, thyroid disease (hashis) an I asked to be put on armour an she did bc if she hadnt I was going else where who would. she did. then I cleaned out the pantry! all modern grains, anything with surculose, high fructose corn syrup, malitol, splenda aspertame was the worst, everything got tossed out an is not aloud in the house. all these chemicals were making me crave more an more...but I had to make my mind up an take control back an it has been the direction of 2 of my specialists sending me to have the sleeve my stomach hormones were crazy...with all of the above put in action I am a happier person, an so far so good with switching cheap foods pumped full of processed chemicals an replaced with whole organic foods I dont each much fruit grapes I stick to an pears but with all combined doing much much better . I'll be 8 months PO the end of the wk an 100 pds down I eat a little all day an it has worked for me. but processed white sugar an these artificial sweetners were either calming me an then when I crashed Id have to have more. therapy was the best thing an bc I had been for so long all this other changes it all fell into place ....I am not a slave to food anymore. (the withdrawls were bad not going to lie)..but ya got to go thru to stop it... I see my surgeon again so I'm definitely adding sugar addiction to my questions for him. Thanks for sharing!

    Fruit problems?

Yeah every NUT is different I didn't do fruit till month 3. And now is when I really pay attention to what does and doesn't work.

    Fruit problems?

I'm 4 months out. Fruit has been on my NUT plan after 3 months.

    Fruit problems?

Yeah I buy the cuties the tiny oranges or tangerines whatever it is and I thought they'd be perfectly sized but I can't do it anymore. I'm not a fan of apple slices I'd rather eat an apples but like I said I've been noticing more things to add to my can't have list which sucks because I love fruit because it fulfills my sweet tooth.
  8. I just want to know how you're doing 4 months out! Hw?cw?gw? What do you do now that you couldn't before? NSV? Have you set any dates to reach goals? Do you have any events your looking forward to? How are you doing on your new lifestyle("diets") But more importantly how do you feel? Just want to know how your doing=) 4 months out I feel great. I'm struggling through some hardcore hair loss but my hair seems to be up 24/7 now so I try to ignore it. HW259 CW201 GW1 160 GW2 140 I now can cross my legs! Lol My NSV is I fit in a size 14 jeans. Pre op the only jeans I had were a size 18 and those were getting tight so I lived in leggings I was to try to be by goal 1 by june. Because I decided to become a zumba instructor and my certification is June 5 (3 days after my birthday!!!) My diet is a constint struggle. I work at a bakery which has caused me to rethink my career choice and focuse on myself. But it's hard now. I feel great. It's crazy to think I use to carry so much excess weight before no wonder I was miserable.

    Weight loss taught me...

It's hard for me to believe I thought I was fine at 260lbs. I would trick myself to accept that I was a big girl and that I just needed to love myself. That only worked for about an hour. I was so unhappy now although I lost almost 60lbs I feel happier but my mind still plays tricks on me. I also look back at pictures and just sit in shock! I was watching a family friend who is really heavy eat the other day and just thought wow that looks really ugly(over eating) I hope nobody thinks I'm fat shaming I'm just saying when it's you, you never think of it looking bad but when you see it your just shocked.

    Weight loss taught me...

I was also a sugar addict. I'm honestly still battling it everyday. I also feel like sugar was my drug. Food in general but my sweet tooth was the main reason I think I was getting bigger. I'm thinking about therapy but (maybe I'm in denial) I don't think I'm struggling too bad. And the brain just needs to be retrained.

    Bloating?

After surgery I felt amazing I haven't felt like my stomach sticks out or anything but I don't know why but the last couple days I feel like I'm still 259lbs (im at 228 now) I was also starting to notice how my belly was lying flat but now ugh I'm just feeling upset and feel like I'm still big. Also as I'm writing this I realize my period is due sometime before the end of the month. Could it be that? I don't know I'm just feeling down right now. Also the scaled hasn't moved up so I know i haven't gain weight I'm just really bloated??
  12. Aribay1

    Bloating?

About 55lbs. I was at 58lbs lost but I'm gaining muscle. How's your journey?
  13. Aribay1

    Bloating?

If I recall it did go away. I wasn't constipated. I guess I was just bloated because now I just feel great again (I'm 4 months post op now)

    Help always hungry!

Some days I do the same except I can't do yogurt it kills my sleeve. I try not to eat like this because I feel like it's not the right thing to do but I guess starving isn't one either.
  15. Aribay1

    Help always hungry!

Yeah I think I can easily fill 12oz in my belly of Protein shakes which sometimes I could do more. And then I'd be hungry. I feel like I snack to much. I mean nothing bad but I don't think I should be eating as much. It sucks because everyone's different and one way isn't the right way.
  16. Aribay1

    Help always hungry!

Me too. I'm not saying I'm eating 2 oz of each I take a bite here of everything. I don't stick to one. My NUT wants me to have variety but from what everyone's saying I think I need to cut off the starch and carbs so once this round of prep is over the next round no starch just meat and veggies.
  17. Aribay1

    Help always hungry!

I'm going to try this for now on! And I would forget to use the plate haha but I def get the idea thank you! Ugh I need to explain to carbs/starch that were over
  18. Aribay1

    Help always hungry!

Yeah its just confusing with what is the acceptable balanced plate for bariatric people and non. I'm just getting overwhelmed with what is better and what's not. I'm starting to think just eating a whole steak for dinner with no sides. So hard!
  19. Aribay1

    Help always hungry!

Thanks for taking the time to answer!carbs are my weakness. I just never know what to eat in the morning that doesn't involve bread. And I was always taught starch veggie protein so that's why I chose the potato. It's so hard to get out of old habbits! I just need to prep better. I should stress I work at a bakery so I'm not always on my best behavior which sucks.

    Cardio drumming!

There are some arm raises but I'm sure you can motify it to yourself
  21. I know the sleeve surgery for many was a last resort because none of the other diets worked. Now I did weight watchers 4 years ago and I did good for 2 weeks and basically was over it. I follow a lot of weight loss surgery (mainly gastric sleeve) instagram pages and I know one person does weight watchers. Have any of you done/are doing weight watchers post op? Is it working well? Just curious=)
  22. Aribay1

    Baking mistake! Aaahhh

I work at a bakery so I'm constintly bad at least once or twice a day.
  23. Aribay1

    What irritates your sleeve?

I'm almost 4 months and I can't tolerate yogurt, milk, oranges, and really anything BAD. I was already lactose intolerant Pre op and now post op I'm worse.
  24. Aribay1

    Just curious...

I did at 2.5 months out but that was because I didn't chew shrimp properly and I say that because it was 2 whole shrimp that I threw up. After that I've been fine. I guess it depends on your stomachs tolerance
  25. A few handful of people know. Every one else doesn't need to know about my life if they figure it out that's cool. I'm the one who had to live with the weight so who gives a dam if people know. You keep to yourself!
