Hello! 8 months post op gastric bypass here!
I have a question for ya guys. Did you get to a point where you are hungry every 2-3 hours? It seems really odd to me, but lately I've really been feeling the need to eat every few hours. I have not changed anything in my diet recently.
What do ya'll think?

I like to use the 6 oz. glass mason jars with plastic lids!!!

I was never a big drinker. I tried my first drink at 3 months post op. I picked one of those pouch pre made pina colada drinks you can get at Walmart that you freeze. I drank almost all of it and then I had to throw it up. Too much sugar I assume. If you're going to try something, I recommend checking the sugar content!

Yep! I'm in Huron County. I had gastric bypass as the Cleveland Clinic.
I wish you well and good luck!

Let me assure you, this is completely normal.

I do this frequently. I know it's not recommended but it helps relieve my discomfort if food is not sitting well. If I don't induce vomiting, I'm miserable.
-
Yes that is why it took so long. You do have the option of calling now and then to see if there are any openings. Also you could ask to be put on wait lists for each appointment, then they'll call you if there are any openings!

Let's see...my first appointment ended up being with the nutritionist end of October 2015. My first visit with Stacy Brethauer, my surgeon, was December 4th. I got my approval letter in April and my surgery was scheduled for May 9th. Last appointment with surgeon was April 29th and I had already started my 2 week liquid diet by then. I had my surgery done at Fairview hospital because I'm young with very few health problems and no expectations of complications.
Did you do your sleep study yet? That was a pain in the behind. Get that scheduled and have a follow up appt with a sleep specialist to go over your results. I would get those scheduled as soon as you can because Cleveland Clinic sleep medicine doctors are pretty busy!

I have Cleveland Clinic insurance and have went through the process. I just had surgery this May. My BMI was over 40 so I did not have to do any weight loss program prior to surgery. I did have to write a check for $2750.00 before they would schedule my surgery.
My advice to you is to contact your patient navigator again, and just be very kind and express your concern. Please try to not be impatient with them. You'll get farther with kindness.
***Let me know if you have any questions!!!!***

I had mild GERD prior to gastric bypass, was never taking a prescription for it. My surgeon did put me on Pepcid after surgery to help reduce the chances of gastric ulcers.

I took 4 weeks off from work. I appreciated the time off and needed it to understand my new system.

I'm 3 months Post Op and have lost 74 pounds.
-
The only thing I can suggest is not gulping it down. Drink very slowly.

How soon post op did you try eating lettuce? And how did that go for you?
I'm 2.5 months post op and have been all food for a while now. Thanks.

I am 26 and had my surgery 2 months ago. If I would've had insurance or could've afforded surgery when I was even 18, I would've done it.
This is a big learning time and a huge life changer. I don't think it matters how old you are, this is TOUGH all around!
I wish you luck girlie.

I probably started drinking regular coffee at about 4 weeks post op. I use sugar free creamer and splenda. My nutritionist did not seem concerned. I'll limit my coffee to about 1 to 1.5 cups a day.
If my stomach starts feeling sour, I'm done with coffee for the day.
-
Totally normal. It will pick back up.
I'm only about 2.5 months post op and I went through a period of about 3 weeks when I didn't lose any weight. It was very odd and frustrating. But I'm back on track now!
-
Oh yeah. I'm 6 weeks post op and had complete buyers remorse. I hated myself.
I'm better now. Hah.
-
I spoke with my surgeons office. They are not concerned, they think I'm either trying to eat too much and/or too fast.
I'm so frustrated and I want to cry.

I'm 1 month post op laparoscopic gastric bypass, and I am miserable. I am struggling.
85% of what I eat/attempt to eat gets vomited back up. Everything I attempt to eat is allowed on my soft food diet or pureed. So far I haven't thrown up from yogurt or my Premier Protein drinks.< /p>
My nutritionist says I'm very calorie deficient.
I'm not getting in enough Water or Protein. My nutritionist says that since I'm a tall girl, she wants me getting in at least 72 g protein, and I can get nowhere near that.
I used to be able to drink the full 11 oz bottle of premier Protein shake post op, now I can manage to drink a half of one.
I constantly don't feel good, get nauseas a lot. Oh and on top of this all, I have issues with falling asleep at night because I can't stay still.
Is it possible I have a stricture? I'm not scheduled to see my surgeon until June 17th.
Thoughts?....
I need support, help please.

Try some Benadryl and go see your PCP since you're concerned. I doubt the surgeon would be much help, they'd probably just direct you to your PCP also.
