  1. Yes!!! Definitely not alone! I have been stuck since December, I am frustrated too! I am a self pay fromCanada so I really want this to work ….I’m just sticking to the plan and crossing my fingers at this point I am nowhere near goal ….better weather will surely get me exercising more . Take care and keep up the good work …We will get there, and thanks for keeping it real!!

    What now?

Now that’s the big question. Weight-wise, I’m going to find stabilization and probably put on the 5-10 bounce-back pounds. That’s fine.

I’m still seeing a bariatric therapist, and I know to reach out – to friends, family, therapist, work – at signs of trouble. I know I take on too much work, and that’s a problematic pattern I’m still working on. I know I need to find and keep finding ways to truly love myself, because that’s the key to saying no, doing things for me, prioritizing myself.

I am excited for where I am, and apprehensive about the next year. This journey has been magical through-and-through, but the compliments will stop, and this will be normal life again. What then?

I’ll keep finding out, and I’ll live by the mottos I taught myself to believe when getting my mind in the right place: I have a right to be here. And I can forgive myself for anything.

Even regain. Even falling into binge eating. Even losing my job. Even ending up single and lonely. I can forgive myself for anything, and that means I’m not scared of anything. Heck, for me it hopefully means I can face anything and deal with it before it becomes a problem.

That’s the most important thing for Year 2.

Love to all of you, thanks to each and every one of you for sharing your life with people like me, and keep being awesome!

Loved this post!!! Canadian self pay here had my mini in June, so happy with my decision! Thanks for the post!!!

How are are all our June surgery ppl doing?? I think I’’m stalled! And have BEEN stalled for weeks! I feel good, I FEEL thinner, my clothes fit loosely, I’ve lost my boobs. I feel like everyone else is dropping weight like a hot potato, so that disheartens me.

I feel the same way!!!! I have been up and down the same two pounds for a month…I am only eating between 600-900 calories a day and have a high BMI so I am very disheartened…..talked to my nut and she says eat more ….should be 1200 ….eat an extra Protein Bar yesterday and up a pound this am ……sad!!!!! I know it is hard to not compare our journey with others ….try and stay positive! Your clothes are getting looser so something must be working …take care

    Hello, baripals!

I'm a 56-year-old woman with a BMI of 50 & I'm having my RNY gastric bypass tomorrow, JUNE 30TH. Eek! I am so, SO excited.

I'm 5'4" & currently weigh 275.5lbs but my start weight before the pre-op liquid diet was 290lbs. While I have severe sleep apnea & a family history of ovarian cancer, I do not have high blood pressure nor diabetes. My only medication is for recurring major episodes of depression & dysthymia following a childhood & adolescence of psychological & sexual abuse.

I have always used food to stuff down negative emotions & stresses & have been learning, through therapy, to find other means to express myself & vent my feelings. I'm really looking forward to changing my lifestyle & getting fit & healthy for myself & my family (hubby & two sons, 21 & 19, & future daughter-in-law, 21).

If you'd like to connect with me (& I'd certainly like that), you can find all of my socials pinned in the banner of my YouTube channel & find my email on the channel's About page. I wish everyone success with their surgeries & new lives. Blessings to you all for great health & happiness!

Looking for others that have had the conversion from lap band to gastric sleeve. So far my first 3 weeks post op have been rougher than expected, but doing better. Still battling some lingering nausea and finding it hard to eat food. Just looking to others for support!

I had my revision yesterday from lap band (2014) to mini gastric bypass....lots of trapped gas and pain still .....very uncomfortable!

Good luck! I just had mine June 8 and I already feel great and so will you! Your feelings are completely normal! You got this! It’s better that you save your own life now rather then fight for it later was my motivator!

Thanks for this post! I am tomorrow....very nervous about after and the healing phase ...nice to see someone feeling good already
