    People Are Rude

Maybe we all need to order a water and throw it at the waiter/waitress when they are annoying us. LOL! Thanks for all the responses, I am so glad I'm not in this alone!

    Anyone from ND/SD

Welcome! I am from Mitchell, SD and was banded right here in Mitchell, by Dr. Andrew Reynolds. There are several others on this board who were banded in Sioux Falls. Let me know if (via PM) if you would like Dr. Reynolds contact information. Best of luck to you!

    I Can't Figure Out What's Wrong!

I had the rib out of place that Devana referred to. It is painful and comes & goes. Could it be heart related? I would see your physician and rule out everything...better safe than sorry. Best of luck!

Cancer is back...No lapband for me

Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. You will beat this and you will watch your son graduate & marry. You will also have mamy grand babies someday to cuddle and spoil rotten. (Chasing them grand babies will get that extra 120lbs off too! LOL) Have faith and best of luck.

    constipation

My stools wer always very firm to hard, prior to banding. Now I suffer constipation on a regular basis. I am very frustrated with my dietician, surgeon and regular doc. They keep saying up the fiber, up your benefiber, use ducolax, use ground flax seed, but nothing really works all that well. I am beginning to wonder if I have IBS with constipation. I see my surgeon on Friday, I'm going to ask about Zelnorm....it is a prescription med for people who are irregular. I am tired of the chronic cycle. I can't even poo normal!

    constipation

Ground flax seed helps mixed with applesauce or yogurt. Make sure you drink plenty of water with this method or it will bind you worse. Milk oh Magnesium works for me. Someone else suggested a glycerin suppository too. Best of luck.

    Fiber

Helen C~~ try low sodium V-8. That way you get your veggies without the extra sodium.

    Polycystic Ovary syndrome

I agree with Poodles. It should be considered a co-morbidity, but may not necessarily be listed that way.

We kept our bar name simple. Burt's Bar after my DH. Thanks for asking.

    Shrimp

Thus far no problems for me, as long as it is the cooked, peeled cocktail schrimp and I chew very well.

    75th bday gift ideas

Pull together a video of her life. Baby pictures all through her years. Include newspaper articles, history, fun facts, etc. Include family interviews, why they think she is so darn special. Include music from the different eras and things that are special to her.

    R U a NASCAR Fan...Let's Talk!

DH is a big fan of Mark Martin and was quite disapointed when he didn't take the win yesterday at Daytona. That will probably be his last chance. I think Kevin Harvick should have let him take it, Keven has plenty of years ahead of him to win.
  18. Interesting data, I may have to try that myself. I too suffer from PCOS and carb cravings. They are always worse around my menses.

    So I see this car...

I dont have bumper stickers but I do have two magnets. One says "I love my Basset Hound." And the other says "Some A$$hole stole my support ribbon". At one point in time I did have the yellow support ribbon magnet, till someone stole it.

1000 pound man on Dr. Phil

I saw the above mentioned Dr. Phil. The lady kept saying how happy she was, but she didn't look happy and no one around her was happy either. I was miserable at 327lbs, I can't imagine weighing 500 or more lbs. Both of those people need counseling and help with their addictions.

    Bummer.....I am shedding.

I take a daily vitimin called Biotin, along with my multivitamin. It helps with the hair issues, helps your nails grow and become stronger.

    Vegetables & Salads

I lke raw veggies as well, but have trouble getting them to go down. I drink V-8 to help with veggie cravies, but will eat raw baby carrots, once in awhile. Lettuce tends to get suck. UGH.

    Chicken Questions

I have never been able to eat chicken since banding. No matter how it is prepared, I just can't eat chicken. Everything else goes down well.
  24. Generally spinach comes out as it goes in. I always knew when the residents at the nursing home I used to work at had spinach. Their urine was bright green and their BM's had spinach in it. I always tried to convince the cook to prepare spinach for St. Patty's day. LOL. Best of luck to you.

    Pimples/Boils/Ingrown Hairs

You could have some sort of bacterial infection. Wash the infected areas with Dial Antibacterial soap and dry throughly. Use warm compresses to ease the pain of the boils. Consult your surgeon/doc/ or dermatologist. I suffered with boils for years due to diabetes complications. They can be very painful and yucky. Best of luck.
