    The mighty scale

I know for many people the scale is a point of pain and denial. It is real easy not to feel fat if you do not use it. People abuse everything including our scales. I am working with my scale. In many different ways, my scale is becoming my friend. When I was 80 pounds bigger we hated each other. Now we hate each other a little less with each lost pound. This is just my story. I have named my scale Betty. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App
  2. It sucked! After 11 days I went back to work at my desk job. I was sleepy, in pain and mad. It did pass after a few weeks. My doc gave me more pain pills which helped a lot. I do not like taking any type of pill. I would do it again. It was not miserable but at 44 it was not easy.

    My Texas Sleevers

It was crazy hot in Houston yesterday. I have found a cool gym in League City, it is a part of my great new life! Time to flip a few tires. Keep it moving TX! Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App
  4. Looking at and taking pictures helps me a lot. However, the best thing I have found, is looking at my shadow on the floor of a parking lot. I use to look like Alfred Hitchcock. Now, not so much. ???? I love my shadow. I have almost walked into the back of several parked cars! LOL Be careful!! Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

August post op sleevers: Check in

I was sleeved 8/1/14. I am still moving forward towards my weight loss goal. Over this last year I gain weight due to several medical reasons and medications. I am still healthier than I have been in over 20 years. I am now working with my PCP. The weight is starting to drop off again with less the 39 pounds until goal. This has been a heck of a ride. The best thing is this tool is still working. I will never give up on my health.

    African American Sleevers

This is a my personal experience with a women who now has breast cancer, her doctor and her daughter who been a nurse for 20 plus years have linked this case. Her doctor reports after years of taking B12 injections it is shown that this is related to her having breast cancer. For me, that is enough it is not worth it. My levels of B12 are fine. I suggest that everyone work with their doctors. I do not have a dog in this race. I also suggest that everyone read and research. I will never take another B12 injection unless required. My choice my life. Your choice your life. Know your body and levels. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App Don't just stop taking it ask your Dr. http://www.mayoclini...ce/hrb-20060243

  17. The night of my surgery I watched my favorite station FoodNetwork. I know the hospital staff believed that I was crazy. It helped me cop. For my sleeved husband it only creates stress. It just depends. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

  19. Yes, I was put on hormones and gain some weight back. I am now trying hard to change that. I have a primary doctor who is working with me as of 7/15/16. I will be 2 years sleeved on 08/1. I lost some weight 9 pounds over the last 3 months. It is hard as heck. I will not give up and neither should you. Start over and move forward. My OB Doctor told me this could happen but offered no help. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Changing insurance

Over two years ago when I changed insurance they did not. I had to start from Jan took until 8/1 before I had surgery. It was worth it. I would do it again and again. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App
  23. First congrats. Secondly, I agree it seems a little drastic to have another surgery for 15-20lbs. Look, I am not the best sleeved person. However, I believe in hope and the power of choice each day. In August my sleeve will be 2 years old. I am still learning how to get the best out of her. I spent 13 years killing my body with my food choices. Only in the last 30 months did I truly start to use my mind before eating. It sounds like you can do this just by utilizing your greatest tool "your mind" in conjuction with your second greatest tool "your 6 year old sleeve." But, It is your choice and body. Best to you and keep reaching out. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

I just want to give up

I just want to say like others have "do not give up." This is your life and body. This is also a process and not a microwavable fix for most people. Use the time you have to get into the healthiest mindset you can. You can only do your part. Remember, unlike diets this is pernimante alteration to your body. However, it is just a tool. Winning at this is all about making healthy choices which can start now. Keep it moving one hour at a time. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Another setback, long.

Okay, I was low on red blood cells before my gastric sleeve. I had several blood transfusions. After, my sleeve had a hysterectomy. I feel so much better. Life moves forward and I have no regrets. My suggestion work with your doctors. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App
