  1. Been off the wagon and gained 31 lbs over the last year! I got down to 211 and plateaued and slipped back into grazing and eating the wrong stuff. I started today back on a diet and more regular walking..

      Keep on truckin'!!

I jumped back on the wagon recently after gaining 16 lbs. We can do this!! Returning to what I know works for me.....and Unjury helps the most.

@biginjapan - Unjury does offer individual packets of all their powders. A word of caution - water temp shouldn't be higher than 140 deg. or the whey might clump. It doesn't change the taste, just the texture, and it feels really strange in your mouth. I do use more than 8 oz. of water when making the chicken soup and I add just a pinch or so of chicken bouillon for added flavor. I was fortunate in that my taste for all the things I was using pre-surgery did not change post-op; however, I did find that for more than a year I preferred highly seasoned food to anything; not necessarily spicy hot, which I love, just not plain Jane foods of any variety. And, now that I'm more than 2 yrs. post-op, I still like everything I did before surgery - highly seasoned or not.

You've probably already know this - you can always add some unflavored protein to your miso and other soups. Someone suggested to me to mix it initially with cold or tap temp liquid before adding it to hot liquids so the protein is dissolved first. I was going to get some Genepro unflavored to put in my morning coffee, but I took their advice and have been mixing the unflavored Unjury with the creamer and SF syrup before adding the coffee and it's been working without clumping :-) Yea! Morning protein coffee - hot enough for me.

      I wish you much success!!

  3. Is riding the bike at the gym good for you?

    1. MrsSugarbabe

      MrsSugarbabe

Any and all physical activity is good for you :)

I can't get my heart rate up enough on a bike so I prefer to use the elliptical machine - it doesn't bother my knees, hips, or back, which is key, and I can get into my target heart rate relatively quickly depending on the level I'm working at.

  4. Guess Babbs got banned too? That's unfortunate. Things are definitely going to be different around here.

I'm glad you're staying, too, @bayougirlmrsc! Thank you! You, also, are a voice of reason and common sense filled with grace and honesty. I appreciate that in a person.

Thank you for staying, @Dub!! I'm glad you're back, @Elode!!

Yes, it is different now, but I believe this site is what you make of it. We've been here long enough to know to take good and leave the bad behind. At least that's my thought. :)

Thanks for sticking around @JamieLogical, @proudgrammy, @Dub, and numerous others who have chosen to stay despite what happened. I agree with @JamieLogical about paying it forward and wanting to help others to whatever extent I can. I still find some value in staying myself although I'm far from being as successful as some members, and there's still always something to learn from others. I take what I can use/benefit from and leave anything else behind.

      I concur with @JamieLogical :)

Have you tried a store brand of the sugar-free drink mixes? I use Great Value all the time for numerous flavors. They are a lot less costly and taste great in my opinion. About the only time I feel too full from a liquid is if I sip on something too soon after eating a meal. Sometimes I get impatient and am just so thirsty that I'll take a sip or two about 15 minutes after the meal and almost immediately regret those sips. The feeling passes, but it still doesn't feel good.

  8. Well, the psychologist wasn't so scary! Now onto pre-op testing and x rays! Had to move my surgery to Feb 17 for logistics with kids and hubby. But looks good to go!

That's what I thought after I met with the psychologist 2+ years ago.

      Good luck!

Good luck!! Get creative with those shakes; it will help to keep it from getting boring. I found the Unjury Chicken Protein Powder extremely helpful since drinking sweet shakes all the time gets old.

  16. woo hoo - this morning at my appointment with my primary doc, we stopped the last hbp med I was on (stopped the main one months ago). I officially no longer have a diagnosis of hypertension!

  17. I am anxious and excited. Headed to Vegas on Friday. After 30 years of going there at least twice per year, we have made many friends. I have not seen them nor have they seen me since 10 weeks after surgery. Many don't know and I am somewhat unrecognizable. Looking forward to seeing them, have to decide what I share and what i don't. It will be fun though, it is vegas afterall!

    1. MrsSugarbabe

      MrsSugarbabe

Have a fabulous time!! Enjoy the company of your friends! I've no doubt that you'll know what to share and how much to share as you see each one. Just let it flow. Go with the flow, so to speak. Enjoy!

    1. MrsSugarbabe

      MrsSugarbabe

That's how I feel after walking for about 20-25 minutes on my lunch break. And why I try to do some crunches at my desk once or twice a day; helps me to feel energized.

  21. Just one word..... GOOOOOAAAAALLLLL!!!!!

  22. I am about 8 weeks post op and just hit a milestone! I am now officially down 50 pounds! I struggled when I was able to go back to actual food, not to fall back into old habits, but after a 2 week stall, I am back on track and more determined than ever.
