Yes floating becomes a challenge also. My kids can easily sink me now.
And even though I have these things that I find annoying I would rather be skinny and enjoying life with these small things rather than have the problems associated with being larger.

And butt pain. The little tail bone pain is killing me. No car seat is comfy anymore. No seats at work. They all are killing my ass.

Try some back strengthening exercises also. With all the weight cushion being lost you now have to support your back yourself without all the fat helping your spine stay straight.
It is amazing how the fat cushion works.
It also wraps around nerves insulating them. I have a numb spot in my leg where the nerve is pinching going they my pelvis because of the loss of the fat around it. No biggie. Id rather be skinny than not.

I'm 6 months post op and have found its all about Portion Control. I can have it. Just not very much. Probably the right amount for a normal person. No way can I eat half a cake now and go back for seconds. I like to taste a lot of different things now. Just a taste and then I'm good for something else. Yes you will think life is over as you know it. And that perfectly ok because what you have known is centered on food. This process is about recentering. Getting away from the food mindset. Good luck with your journey.

When was the last time you were at your weight goal in your life? I was at 205 in 6th grade and have never been there again until this morning. I do want to be under 200 just once but I am happy to be at 205.

I just finished spending three hours taping to paint a room. Getting on the floor. Climbing ladders. Bending over. Reaching in awkward positions. And I'm not sore or tired. I'm ready to go all night. I forgot what it's like to be skinny. No worries that climbing the side of the scaffold would flip it cause I'm heavier that it is. Yes I climbed it before at 325 and It was scary.
This is my second chance to lead a normal life. I would do it a million times over. I miss food yes. But I missed being skinny more!

Congrats for the loss. My surgery was nov 4th. I'm also down 114 as of this morning. I know the feeling about the dang stalls. They make no sense at all. How can the scales not move in a week then all of a sudden 5 lbs are gone overnight. Yes I still weigh everyday. I'm 10 lbs from my soft goal weight of 200lbs. I'd be happy at that. But I really want to be under 200. I've not been under 200 since 6th grade. That is the earliest memory of me being embarrassed of my weight. I only buy one pair of pants at a time until I get to my goal weight. I've dropped from 46 pants to 36 and the 36 are getting big. I'm happy with my weight loss rate. It's mostly been 20-22lbs a month. In February I was stressed from moving and lost 10lbs but that's ok since I'm almost there.

I had the same issue but just had an in/out cath the first time. After that I was able I urinate on my own. But I have had a full cath before for 10 days. I never noticed a smell. My first thought with your situation is keep your bag empty and clean. Stale urine stinks bad.

Ive read all the stories about needing to try on your skinny clothes while you are losing weight so that you can enjoy them. Well all mine are too big now. I'm kinda sad cause I had some really nice skinny clothes that I never got rid of when I got bigger. My wife wanted me to get rid of them but I told her no. One day I will fit into hem again. Well I did for about a month. Now even my suites are baggy. I've taken two bags to goodwill already. I really just need to take the rest.

In my skinny life I used to sleep on my stomach. When I got larger I had to sleep in my side due to back pain so I was not worried about sleeping on my stomach when I got my rny done. Now at 60 lbs lost from my hw I am sleeping in my stomach again with no back pain.
Would I do this again. Yes. No doubt about it. Are there things I can't eat. Yes. Should I have been eating them in the first place on the quantities I was. No.
I am happy with my decision.

micmt got a reaction from Djmohr in Throwing left overs away
Yes I now have left overs! It kills me to throw it away. But I love the fact that there are left overs.
I know some people will say just don't make as much. Well that's hard. to do when the recipe calls for making a meal for four. My wife eats, My young kids pick at it and I just taste. Then I put the rest in the fridge until I have no more room. By Friday I dump everything and we start the dance over again. No one in my family likes to eat left overs
Another note: I buy a quarter beef every spring. I'm perplexed on how to use the beef now when I know a lot of it might get thrown away once it's cooked. I still have a good portion left from my last quarter so just not buying this spring does not help.
I know the small problems we face after getting this surgery done. Anyone else have these difficult decisions to make lol.

I snack just a little. Just to taste something that's not sweet. Sometimes with salt. Omg! Not on a regular schedule though.
I try to do 2 Protein shakes a day 55 grams of Protein. I am down 57 lbs from my hw of 325. 30 lbs since rny nov 4. My dr is going to kill me when I go Friday for my 30 day post op. He said no more than 15 lbs loss a month. Oops

micmt got a reaction from ready2B in How long if at all, are you to take Omeprazole ( Prilosec)
Proton pump inhibitors can have some serious consequences long term such as stomach cancer and malabsorption especially B12. Before my bypass I was on protonix for about 18 months and the dr recommended I stay on it. After I discovered these potential side affects I stopped taking them. I had 48 colon polyps before my rny and the dr has no idea why even after pathology and genetic testing. Not sure if this may be a contributing factor but I do know that the decrease in stomach acids increases the chance of cdiff/ h pylori and other bad stomach bacteria causing diarrhea and stomach problems. I'm not saying stop taking anything for gerd, just be aware of long term consequences. Drs do not know everything. They are specialized in what they do. Ultimately it's your body and you have to live with your decisions.

I tried turkey on Thursday. Came back up. I thought I had taken things slow and chewed well. Soups, puddings, and Protein Shakes I know are safe. Maybe later like yall say. Every week is a new challenge. This to shall pass. I'm just excited that I'm down 20 lbs since the procedure.

I had problems with bruising too. I think it's from the blood thinners I got right before surgery and the next two days while I was in the hospital.

micmt got a reaction from ready2B in 5 days post op. Want real food!
Again I am frustrated with this definition of puréed food or soft foods. Some say cream Soups fall in puréed. Some say it falls into soft. What's the line? My doc told me on my 10 day post op I could start taking bites of chicken and other Protein with my shake Protein meals. Of course chewed 40 million times. But does that not purée pretty dang well? Other docs say no chicken for 6 weeks. They really need to set a standard across the board on this surgery. Until then it will remain in the realm of myth and magic to so many that actually need it.
Sorry for my rant. I'm almost 2 weeks post op now and really wish they had cut and dry schedule along with foods that fall in that category.
