I am currently taking a baby aspirin due to a heart condition. I wax told to stop it ten days prior to surgery. They did say I could go back on them at some point after but they would instruct me as to when. My surgery is Sept 4th. What stage are you at right now?

Hi it's good to hear you are doing great and 12 lbs is impressive! After reading other people's comments the first couple of weeks is the hardest. Each day always gets better. Hang in there!
I am meeting with Anna the Nut( hehe) and Dr. Lauretti. I made my first initial appt was July7. I have seen Janet Huels twice, Anna tomorrow will the second time and Lauretti the first. When do you think surgery will happen with this time frame? I need to squeeze in my knee replacement before next Spring. I have been on extended short term from work and then going on long term. So I am pressed for time and anxious to know when this thing is going to happen. I have Harvard Pilgrim and there is no 6 month requirement.
Ok I am still learning how to navigate this huge forum.

You r not the only one freaking out. I am too. It's going to be here sooner than we think. I go back and forth as to wether I can do this or not.

Mine is coming up so fast I can't believe it. Sept 4th is when I kick this fat to the curb....for good!!! I want to be thinner and healthier and be able to live life a lot more than I do now.
My pre op is Tuesday. They said to plan for 3 hours. Not sure what would take that long. Luckily my Dr only required liquids for one day before surgery.
I think we should name ourselves Sexy September Sleevers. What do you think?

So, I am finding that my surgery is all I think about!! Ha! It's hard to focus on anything else for long periods of time. I'm both excited and nervous. I keep wanting to ensure I do as much as I can to prepare. Just a little over a week to go!

Hi! I'm Tiffany and my sleeve is scheduled for September 3 here in Atlanta. I guess I'm fortunate that my surgeon only requires Clear Liquids for the two days prior to the surgery. I can only imagine what several weeks of liquids would be like. At any rate, looking for a buddy to share this journey with.

I started writing up a list of things that were worrying me about getting surgery and this came out. My wife was impressed enough she suggested I share it and it's probably what I'll put up on Facebook as a way of letting people know what I'm doing.
I'm scared I'll fail. I'm scared I'll go back to my old eating habits. I'm scared that my last chance won't work I'm scared because I don't know what being a normal weight is like. I'm scared I'll be judged for getting surgery I'm scared I'll miss food so much I'll get obese again I'm scared that I won't be able to keep up the changes I need to make over the long term. I'm sure if I don't do this I'll be dead by the time I'm 50 I'm sure I won't be the best dad I can be if I quit now I'm sure I won't be the best husband I can be if I quit now I'm sure if I don't do this nothing will change I'm sure I'll still be discriminated against if I don't do this I'm sure I'll still avoid friends and functions if I don't make a change I'm sure I'll still be ashamed of myself for letting things get this way I sure I'll never climb another mountain or hike through the bush if I stay as I am. I'm sure I'll keep missing out on a big part of life I'm sure I'll never do the things I want or have the adventures I've dreamed of if I keep on as I am I'm tired of being tired I'm tired of being afraid of others opinions because of how I look I'm tired of being in pain all the time I'm tired of letting what I weigh determine how I can live I'm tired of being the joke I'm tired of being a disappointment I'm tired of being judged I'm tired of making excuses I'm tired of lying to myself I'm tired of being obese. I can do this.

Hi Betsy. I'm going the same day as you. I can't believe it's right around the corner. Unlike you I don't have to do liquid diet before hand. My stats are close to yours. I weighed 257 but right now I'm at 243. My goal is 150. They told me that 80 lbs would be more realistic but I want to prove them wrong.
Where do you live? I'm from Massachusett. Let's be surgery buddies.

Im still in recovery. No issues with the surgery I am having difficulties drinking so I am dehydrated and extremely constipated. I am working with my doctor to resolve my issues other than that it went well. So far I have lost over 25 pounds

Ke-sa; how did yours go? Any issues post op? How's the liquid diet going?

Today as I was at work a little boy says daddy she's fat , daddy daddy look she's fat! I held back the tears till I got to the bathroom, god it hurt so bad! And the fact that he was an innocent little boy , who was just calling like he saw it , is what hurt the most. Having that happen just made me more ready that ever! 9/3/14 I will be reborn!

Where did u get the sampler pack of syntax nectar. I tried looking for them on line and didn't find them except for full sized pkgs. would like to try samples of diff flavors.

I felt really yucky yesterday from not eating enough. I went to the store and did some grocery shopping and I was super weak and shaky when I got home, but I tried broth for the first time and it was amazing and I was in love with the change of flavor. A couple hours later I actually had more broth with two bacon ritz crackers, it was amazing. I felt satisfied and slightly full. It was a very good feeling.
Weighed in today and the scale moved down to 261.8, so woohoo! Took my 1 week measurements and I've lost about a half inch to an inch in some places, so that is pretty cool.

Katrina, I too had a medical weight management appt today with my Doctor-
My surgery is Sept 8th!!
I have lots of appts between today and the 8th! I'm so ready!!

I just got my date! September 5th! I have so many appointments between now and then.
