  1. Try ice chips, let them melt on your tongue. Don't worry about any thing else but walking and the ice chips. Everything else will come in time. I had issues not with the pain but with the iv meds. I vomited every time it hit my blood stream. I told them I wanted no meds at all. Honestly I felt better just after my surgery than I do now one month out. I'm still very queasy and seem to have more bad days than good. I have a follow up this week so I've got to discuss it all with my doctor. You will get thru this. We all will! We are strong and we made this decision knowing it wasn't easy but what we needed to do.
  2. I followed it 99 % I was full liquid for a month so it was hard. I did have a "chaw" of shredded cheddar cheese once every couple days the first two weeks. The final week I was faithful, miserable but faithful
  3. I have had such a time since my surgery finding a protein I could keep on my stomach. Premier is finally working and I'm starting to feeling better. Not running to the bathroom 5 minutes after drinking it and getting my protein in. Yay. I was really starting to get worried I wasnt eating and not getting enough nutrition in.

    FEEL HORRIBLE EVERY MORNING

Try drinking warm tea before everything. Some people have spasms. Then eat a little something then meds.

    Give up

I had a severe headache about the same time. It lasted almost a week I even went to the hospital. I went to my family doctor and she gave me imetrex and it went away and hasn't been back.

    Give up

Drink water when you crave. You're not hungry. It's, in your head. If your not getting around real well yet then do a crossword or call a friend or listen to music. I'm 3 weeks out and having issues and mostly feel like crap every time I eat. So I don't even want to eat but then feel gross if I don't start a while so screwed either way. I still don't regret doing it . I just want to heal faster

    Itching all over body

Stress of surgery, anything can give you hives, check with your dock and take some benedryl and get some oatmeal soap and a warm shower and relax. Stress from worry about all of this can do it too. I was crying this afternoon because I felt my husbands job didn't appreciate him enough. Your body is changing. I swear is like puberty again sometimes

How to celebrate without food & drinks

My surgery was the 2nd...my wedding anniversary was St Patrick's Day and my birthday is Saturday(congrats on your anniversary). Anniversary was not good....better luck next year for us. My birthday I hope to walk stopping the flea market. (I still get very winded quickly. I took the dogs out today for about a quarter mile and had to come back.

    Confused by this feeling!

I'm.the same way . I can eat 1/2 a pack of cream of wheat and a half of a banana and it has to be almost soup like to get that in. I'm 3 weeks out and my stomach is the ruler. What it says goes. If I can't eat it I'm not. I'll save it for later. Right now we are still swollen inside. My stomach which loved protein shakes before cannot even stand a sip of them, anything with any artificial sweeteners.....um no! A as an experiment I haven't had any artificial sweeteners since last wed so I had a cup of sf jello...I ran to the bathroom in less than 5 minutes. And I took 2 immodium this morning and afternoon. I'll do my best and hopefully as I get better I'll get more in. I force the water as it is.
  12. I was at my family phys ofc yesterday and it said I was 350 my bariatric dr scale said I was at 342.... lol guess which one I'm gonna use?

    Depression and regret

Honey your only a week out. Every one feels like crap. I'm 3 weeks out and I don't feel wonderful. Just hang in there. Fluids suck, protein shakes suck but it's done. Breathe in breathe out and move on. Eat what your supposed to. Follow your doctor's instructions. Get tough! You can do it. Im a whiny bitch and I'm hanging in. You can too.
  14. Yes she said I was having a problem with whey protein/artificial sweeteners and to try to get it naturally it's better than it was but some things just set me off. Especially my meds. I have to drive my son to work so I can't take them till late and I have to sit upfor at least an hour. Food wise I'm finding my tummy is handling refried beans and some shredded cheese. Fairly well. At least it's got protein. I have an appt next week so we well revisit it then. I've always had stomach issues. I kinda knew this was gonna be harderthan I wanted it to.
  15. I'm 3 weeks out and feel worse than I did the first week.I'm trying to keep my water going. I can usually keep food down but keeping it in is another story and protein is so hard on my stomach. Vitamins bother me, my bp meds bother me, my pain and sleep meds make me so nauseated. I can't put anything in without running to the bathroom. Then of course it counteracts the water situation. I wish it would get better soon

    Weird dreams?

I did too the first couple weeks. Probably the anesthesia.
  17. It's just getting to the point where no matter what I eat, from protein shakes to soft scrambled egg. I feel so gross after I eat,I don't want to eat anything. I eat slowly, and the right things but I'm either in the bathroom or I feel like I'm going to foam out and barf. And in the middle it sounds like something is going to pop out of my stomach like in the Alien movie. 3 weeks out I know isn't long but jeez you'd think id be okay for those things. And why does nothing taste the same still? And why do I want fish? I hate fish! Lol....still hanging in. Just wanted to vent. Thanks all
  18. It's so easy and I'm a huge chicken. Just grab a big chunk of your belly just above your leg but lower than your belly button and you won't even feel it.

SERIOUSLY? REALLY? YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS!

Why is basic courteousness lacking online? Yes, I admit I have been in a few escalated discussions online but usually it was from a misdirected try at humor that didn't come across the internet or to someone who just wanted to inflict themselves on the world and I caved and I let them under my skin. We are in a forum to try to help each other. Being mean or judgmental won't help if you are newly healthy or looking for help to get there.
  20. Gas pain...walk, gas x strips and raise your arms and reach as high as you can and walk some more. The other pain will go away. Take some Tylenol is, you don't want the opiates. Sleep as much as you can and drink when your not sleeping. If you can't eat the first week, tell your dr and keep drinking. I'm 3 weeks out tomorrow and today was my fist day really out and about(dressed in something other than sweats and a ponytail and wearing makeup AND jewelry! Go me lol) didn't want to but had to fake it to avoid a severe case of cabin fever. I'm lying in bed now just had some cream of wheat for lunch/dinner/whatever. Just do what you can when you can it's not a race is a marathon.

    Not supportive

Tell him to take out 3/4 of his stomach and see, how easy it is . Those words just make my blood boil

    Had my first foaming...

It only took about 15 minutes. Ugh
  23. Had my first foaming and throw up session since my surgery. Ugh not good don't wanna do that again. Jeeze I feel gross. Tried to eat stuff I shouldn't have, a small piece of pork roast chewed up very well but it didn't stay.
  24. kyrickchick64

    Lets talk gas...

Yes and burping. And it feels great when it comes out. Use gas x strips abd have someone pat your back a bit hard and if you alone put you hands in the air and do a slow wave o wiggle.
