I started at size 26 or 28 in pants and 2X (which were getting tight) in tops. I am currently a size 20 or 22 in pants and between an XL and 1X ( 1X is too big, but XL is still a bit snug) in tops. My surgery was onFebruary 16th, so I am almost at two months.

This is funny because after a size 14 pants got too tight, my pants size became LEGGINGS ????
Decided to have the surgery just when I realized I would have to go up to a 16, and hopefully never going back there again!!

Started at 18 bottoms and now wearing an 8-10. Tops xxl and now a large. One of my goals was to be able to wear a large at almost any store and I'm pretty much there. Looking to go smaller but that was just one of my goals.

What is easy:
Finally having the appetite monster off of my back so I can make good choices.
Surgery itself -- I'm mid-fifties and had never been an overnight patient in a hospital before. I was so excited that the whole experience (even with the discomfort, etc.) was delightful. Meaning I was delighted to be giving myself the gift of Weight Loss Surgery. Here's to positive energy.....
Easy is walking into a store and buying pants off the rack. Pants! It's a frickin' miracle. Works for shirts, too. M, as in Medium. I am a Medium? What! Yes. OMG.
It's SO much easier now to do everything -- bend, walk, get up, etc. I have arthritis and that is there but having 75 less pounds to haul around everywhere I go? Repeat: OMG. So grateful.
Oh, it's very, very easy to be grateful. One of the things I did not anticipate about this process is how empowered I would feel. It's a return to self and, for me, a life-saver.
BEST WISHES TO YOU! IT IS GOING TO BE GREAT!

@@Butterfly512 - That's a head game. Changing that thinking is matter of self examination and being brutally honest with yourself. Who would willingly cut out a portion of their bodies if there was another way? Who thinks anesthesia, and surgery is easy? Who thinks completely changing how you eat and think about food is easy? I had a really easy hospital course, no pre-op diet and no post-op issues, no even gas and I *still* wouldn't consider this easy. I still have to make good food choices on a daily basis. I make sure I get to the gym on a regular basis. I am happy to do it, but there are days I'd love nothing more than to sleep in all day and have a pizza for dinner. As for what friends and family have to say about the surgery. I don't know when it happened, but my ability to give a damn about what they thought left me loooooonnnnng ago.

Just remind your self this is in no way easy. You are going to have to exercise and monitor your food choices for the rest of your life. It was way harder than I expected. You will have the "head hunger" where you have to break bad habits. ( Mine was eating Snacks while watching evening tv shows) Also, gone are the days when you can binge eat. Personally I regret telling some people because a few were quite negative. Saying how I should have been able to exercise and diet. Funny is these same people are fat. Be confident and look forward to the changes. Your first victories like losing a pants size are so very rewarding! Good luck on your journey.

Pack your food for the day..2-3 Snacks and lunch. I find that I graze much less at work anyway, but eat a little somethin-somethin every two hours or so. Make sure you have a good-sized tumbler to make sure you're getting your liquids in.

A selection of quotes I've actually said that are indeed strange:
"No, they did not remove my entire stomach. Just most of it."
"No, I didn't have the bypass. I had the less complicated weight loss surgery." As if I could perform it myself or something.
"No, I'm not starving. I feel great!"
"I disagree. I eat more than a squirrel."
"Yes, I used to be quite large." Takes out driver's license to prove it. Why would someone lie about being fat?
food arrives at the table. "Can I get a to-go box, please?"
"Yes, I really am full. I know I'm taking most of it to go."
"No, I didn't just eat before coming to the restaurant."
"Yes, bowel movements still work the same way."
"Yes, I miss my manboobs."
OK, the last one I never said.

Congratulations! I loved the pre-op diet in retrospect. In addition to shrinking the liver, it's a fantastic start to your pre-op life!
The first few days can be rough, but I kept telling myself, "Fat is stored energy. I will not starve!" And it got easier and easier. And I lost 25 lbs between pre-op and post-op diets. Fantastic!
It was so strange from eating 3-4 cups of food in a sitting to just having Protein shakes, broth, or popsicles. But once out of surgery, I didn't miss the food at all. It was like night and day.
Once I was on purees...everything tasted wonderful. I quickly learned to love the small portions.
You're gonna love your sleeve!

If you're 7 weeks out, there shouldn't be any issues. Bring Snacks with you to work and lunches if you can't get home at lunch time. I bring string cheese and greek yogurt for snacks and go home or out for lunch each day. But when I go home I just eat leftovers, so I could just as easily bring those into work with me if I didn't have time to go home at lunch. I also keep some emergency rations in my desk... peanuts and canned chicken salad, just in case I need something in a pinch.
