Thanks curvy, for responding to my question. It was definitely helpful and btw, you did not go on & on. I needed to hear every bit of that information -)

Curvy you look fantastic. These types of post keep me hopeful. Since you offered to answer questions.....I have one, is there anything you miss (food) that you can no longer have. I expect to get my sleeve in October.
Thank you.

That is huge amount of weight loss in such a short time. Great job!
Are you working out?

Hi Jazzy I have not had my surgery yet but I've read many post about this subject . The common response is to make sure you're getting enough Protein. Many have stalls-but they seem to get over the hurdle within a few weeks. Please don't stress yourself out. 40lbs is great! You are averaging 20lb a month. Have you ever lost that much weight before?
Good luck, stay on program it will happen. Hopefully those who have experienced stalls will offer suggestions

Oops on the above, not that techy.
@@Sandra, I saw my surgeon the 1st week of June. Also saw the nutritionist the same day as well as an exercise physiologist . Since then, I started on several of the preoperative testing. Saw the psychologist yesterday.. This Friday, I see the surgeon for my second visit as well as the nutritionist. & exercise physiologist.
Thankfully, my insurance indicated that I am approved ( i'm assuming my BMI had something to do with that). However, I have to complete my preoperative test, if all goes well, I'll get my date. At my first visit the surgeon said it should take approximately three months before surgery. But, I noticed in reading the post on the site, insurance requirements vary.
Good luck Sandra, hopefully it will go quickly for you.

Same here for me. I have just started the process. I ordered the "big book" and probably read every post on this site! I have my first meeting with a surgeon on 7/21. I have Type 2 Diabetes and really bad sleep apnea, so my insurance is waiting on my surgeon visit to make a determination. I am determined to lose this weight and live healthy. What was the time table for others between surgeon/psych/nutrition visits before surgery? My insurance does not require a "losing period", but do most surgeons? Thanks for the support!!

Tisa, be fair to your family. You are NOT the only one who live in your house. YOU made the decision to have this surgery, not them.
At the beginning beginning you mentioned your mom said " we're going to get through this as a family." It sounds like they are supporting you, maybe not in every way you want, but they are supportive.
Hang in there, fight the urge. Come to this site or call supportive friends when you feel tempted. YOU can do this. You are not alone.

Hi & welcome!
I'm fairly new too. Truthfully, I've been anonymously visiting this site for two months before officially registering. We are almost at the same stage in this process. I visit the psychologist tomorrow. No surgery date, my surgeon says poss September but I'm hoping October.
I can't say enough good things about this site. Most people are extremely supportive. I recently ordered a few books on Amazon to help me along this journey,( can't be too informed). Good luck and keep us posted!

Oh wow! So cool! I can imagine how that felt.
I don't travel much, mostly because I'm afraid of flying. But recently I flew to Savannah with my husband and for the first time I realized how much weight I've gained and fastening the seatbelt was a bit difficult.. Awkward ....
Anyway, wishing you Continued success.

I feel the same way. A lot like travelmego. I try to keep this in perspective. My cardiologist said I'm pre-diabetic. He said with the surgery I can avoid getting diabetes ( obviously, thus involves making the right food choices) without the surgery, I am destined to be diabetic. With that said, I KNOW this is the right choice.
Blazzrr, know that you are not alone. In the words of Elkhart Tolle, be present. Deal with today, today. Prepare as best as you can but TRY not to to think too far into the future. One meal, one day at a time.
For me, remembering the reason why really helps.
Best wishes

Hi everyone!
I've been reading various threads on this site as well as other sites for the past two months. It's addictive (in a good way). I just want to make sure I'm well informed.
I'm a newbie & this is my first post . Excited, nervous & scared all rolled up in one. My biggest fear, believe it or not, is learning not to drink while I eat. I've been practicing...very hard.
My surgery should be in October. Going through all the pre-op requirements now.

I really like this thread, helps those of us who haven't had the surgery remain optimistic. Knowing that for most, life changes for the better is reassuring
