I was introduced to this site via www.verticalsleevetalk.com. I was a member of that site for years before it shut down. It was through that site that I did most of my sole searching prior to surgery. As I read others post their surgery journey, it gave me the courage and insight I needed to make a decision. Although it was not a quick decision. It actually took me 5 years, several serious diets, prescription diet pills, visits to various nutritionist, etc, etc before I felt surgery was necessary for me. I must say, it was a good decision. I decided to go with the gastric sleeve because research showed it rendered similar results to gastric bypass but without the malnutrition. The part about the surgery I love most is the weight loss and improvement of life. Things I can do now that I was able to do before, like sit in a restaurant booth or ride a roller coaster. But most of all, not feel as if I am the elephant in the room. The bad part, well, I didn't reach my weight loss goal. After running into several plateaus along the way, I was not concerned at first because I had read about the plateaus in the chat. So when I ran into another plateau at 280lbs I was not concerned. That is, until four months went by and still no weight loss. 85lbs weight loss was great, but my goal was 125lbs weight loss, which would take me to 240lbs. So I did my research again and luckily I found Herbalife. After much research I implemented this nutrition and dropped 15 pounds the first month. Long story short, I hit my original goal of 240lbs and set a new goal of 230lbs. Now that I've hit that I'm setting a new goal of 215lbs and I've become a distributor of Herbalife so I can help others who had the same experience I had, and I am doing just that. I've helped so many people it's amazing! People from all over the world. The relationships I get to build through this is amazing. This entire journey has been a blessing. I love my life!
