Loose Skin? Lap Band Success Stories?

I had my 4cc Lapband surgery in September 2007 and currently have 1cc of fluid in the band Most of my loose skin is around my mid section and thighs and upper legs so it is easily hidden. I may at sometime in the future have plastics Best decision for me was to have the Lapband
  2. All our bodies react differently with the band. For me if I have more than 1 cc then have a tremendous amount of acid reflux. So after years of trying to put in more fluid for more restriction I have learned that 1 cc is my limit and not to try any more. Fluid Intake is another key I almost never drink with my meal or drink anything prior and after my meals for 20 minutes. Otherwise it seem that I can eat forever when I drink with my meals For me I need to go to bed by 9pm because I tend to eat late at night. I do quite a bit of walking which helps pass some of the time away. Seems that I eat or graze during the day if I do not take in at least 40 to 64 ounces of liquid. I use the 80 20 rule that is make good eating choices 80% of the time and enjoy my self without guilt the other 20% of the time I still chew and chew and chew my food even mash potatos on thos rare occasions when I indulge in the 20% time For example last night we had Spaghetti and Meatballs and my portion size was 1/4 of everyone else but because I was very slow in eating I was still the last one to finish. I know that I could of eaten a lot more food last night but going into the meal I had already made up my mind that I would not over eat. I did reach for more but did not partake of more. Even if I would of eaten more I would not feel any guilt and it could of been part of my 20%, I am constantly look at my fist and remind myself would what I m planning to eat fill my fist and then that helps me to have portion control. For me the lapband is just a tool and only I can control what goes in my mouth whether I am filling restriction or not.

    Hit onederland!

Very impressive Keep up the good work. Losing weight during Covid and the Holidays takes dedication For me one of the mantra that I tried to follow is the the 80 / 20 rule. 80% of the time make good choices and 20% take the freedom to enjoy a treat or indulge (small Portion) of some item that you have not had in a while. Today I have many things to be Thankful for

13 years later and - I Love my band

I have only had my band for 13 years so 18 years is very impressive. For the most part have kept off most of the weight but just have to remember to make more good choices than bad one. I tried to adhere to the Following "Use the 80/20 Rule: 80% of the time, make ideal, healthy choices. The other 20% of the time, enjoy the treats you love in moderation and let yourself savor the experience." Makes losing weight slower but we are in this for a safe lifetime.

    nothing really happening prefill...

Really depends on the size of the Lapband, I have the 4 cc lapband and only have 1 cc of fluid in the band any more than that I am to tight and have problems. I have to rely on the fact that for me that is enough fluid and just remember to make more good choices than bad ones.

    Losing Quarantine Weight!

I normally gain during November and December and then take the next few months losing the weight. This year I had to work from home and by the middle of May had gained 7 lbs from the holidays and then an additional 10 lbs from March to the Middle of May. As of today I have lost the 17 lbs. Part of my insurance program is they have an app where I weigh in every day and give you suggestions on losing weight. You also have to take picture of your meals and submit on the app. As a result of having someone to be accountable to has kept me somewhat in line. The main weight gaining opportunity is unhealthy snacking. So this been curtailed as well.
  9. Certainly no need to be embarrassed, I have had my ups and down loosing and gaining weight with the lapband. Mine 4cc lap band was put in 13 Years ago. As has been mentioned before be honest with your new doctor
  10. I have 4 cc Lapband that was put in 13 years ago and have only 1 cc of fluid in the band any more and I have acid reflux. if your still looking for someone to communicate with I would be available

Finally after almost 12 year the scale finally showed 170 which was my long term goal weight on August 29, 2019. For me the Band though not always my friend but a tool to remind me to keep going.

I agree with wish to be slim everyone’s experience is different. I will have my 12 year band anniversary in September so not very long. I have the original 4 cc band with only 1 cc. Any more than 1 cc for me is too much. From my experience getting the band was the best decision for my life Good lucj as you begin your new adventure
